One trick I have learned to use to save my shoulder on hard to start units is a drill on the starter cup nut after taking the recoil assembly off...now all 5 of my JD's start on 1 pull...thanks for the video Bruce...happy birthday!

I have the JD 12 PB, made mid April 1989. I'm wondering what the difference is between all the JD lawn mowers, there's the 12 and 14 and PB, PZ, SB, SZ, or something like that. I know different engines and manufacturers depending, as well as self propelled vs not, but I don't know exactly, also some are 4 and some are 2 stroke. I'd really appreciate more information and history on these. I love my JD 12 PB, got it for $140, the extra $40 from $100 was delivery.
