Slot car podcast vs physical hobbies, are people too dependent on a virtual world and what benefits do physical real world hobbies have over video games.
I grew up in the advent of arcade games. I got a mattel intelevision in the early 80s and I love playing video games but I also couple that tangible hobbies as well like Model building, Hot wheels and riding my bike all over town and finding cool places to make ramps that I could jump. It was a well rounded childhood. It seems a bit one-sided today.
I think it can be, mobile phones don't help with tiktok and Instagram but a healthy balance is needed. That is down to the parents to help moderate but is also very hard with teenagers as they are very much doing to do their own thing as you know!
Some megadrive games had a chip in them that you could save your game! Also remember the CD drive for the megadrive. Sony was apart of that then cut and ran and the ps1 was born!
Interesting podcast Paul, I'm glad to say I never got into video games at all(probably a bit old lol) I personally think that a real hobby be it slot cars, football or fishing etc is the way to go rather than being stuck in front of a screen. My opinion that's all and I would never chastise anyone who felt differently 👍👍
