Have you ever heard of Scalextric cars made in Spain? Certainly the most beautiful (by far) made from 1965 to 1992. In any case, the documentary deserves more images of cars in action and fewer comments. For that watch my videos!
I searched for this after seeing an item on BBC south because from approx.1961-1963 I was employed as the Secretary to the Managing Director Mr Badcock at Minimodels at Leigh Park, Havant. Very interesting and brought back memories of the time I spent thereI left in November 1963 as I was expecting our first baby in February 1964. I am now almost 80 but think this was a good time.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, I have uploaded a number of other documentaries about Scalextric you might want to have a look at. The oldest is ua-cam.com/video/tVZa3gtpTco/v-deo.html and was filmed in 1988. It covers a lot of the early days.
I also remember being one of the few privileged staff members being allowed to enter the Development Dept where all the new possibilities were experimented with. I remember one day a Classic Bentley coming from the Museum at Beaulieu for photographing and measuring in great detail by the Experimental Dept., ready for a Bentley being produced in their workshop.
I know!!....not to mention, "it's but crap init?"..."this is crap"...that looks crap"....the two guys should have told him to get out!....i was enjoying listening to them talking about the cars etc..
Wow so amaizing this vid i have lots of scalextric cars very nostalgic i have from all decade cars also i have old minis datsun 240z ford mirage etc fantastic.
They didn't call it Scalectrix, Steve Berry, you prat, they called it Scalextric......how do folk with speech impediments get presenter/voice-over jobs?
The sad thing was if you went to a certain public house in Leigh Park on a Friday night you could place your order and collect it the following Friday and it would be half price compared to the shops.
EPs would not have played on wind up gramophone and Dansette and other three-and-four speed record players (78 rpm, 45 rpm, 33 1/3 rpm and, for a short while 16 2/3 rpm) were powered off the mains.
That guy sickens me the way he LOUDLY asks questions before the two lads have stopped answering his last question!!...arrrrgh!!

He likes to flash his headlights alot, think he was doing Morse Code "Dickhead driving this car"
Best comment in the comments 😂

Someone please tell Mr Berry it’s Scalextric not Scalectrix
Much more in depth history of Scalextric on Ytube Part 1 and 2 from a 1992 dvd.
Another great upload by moozeek
I Order a scalextric stock car set .. can't wait till it arrives.
The racing trucks....THAT guy just said........"They didn't have the tractor unit did they?"...so they just raced the trailers then, eh?
All the presenter cares about is how much things are worth

TheRealTwigman It's called scalextric!!
Big Mouth Berry!!
Not on TV anymore.
:-0
He doesn't let them talk. It's unwatchable because of Berry.
Top Gear Wannabee if I remember
The sad thing was if you went to a certain public house in Leigh Park on a Friday night you could place your order and collect it the following Friday and it would be half price compared to the shops.
Really, someone pinching bits from the factory?
I wonder why steve berry wasn't asked to stay at top gear?????
Because he’s incredibly annoying and a total twat I’d imagine.

HOW MUCH
Sooo much
So are they still being made by the British?
I'm on a ban of Chinese made products.
Stop saying Scalectix!
Big Head Cars. Kewl!
Couldn't they find a presenter who can say Scalextric properly?
The presenter should just interview himself 😂
Rev and go from scalextric the first ecig
The presenter is far too overpowering and ultimately very irritating to fully enjoy this video.
Simon Worley yes I agree. He never let's the other person finish a sentence before rudely interrupting them with his own obnoxious opinions.
I noticed that right away. Would’ve been nice to hear what he had to say without the presenter interrupting him constantly. Too bad really.
The presenters taste in leather jackets is horrible!!!!
You're not wrong
No, he didn't call it Scalectrix. He called it Scalextric. Dope. lol I expect he says nucular war too.
rhythman69uk scalextric is the correct way to say it.
Commentator needs to shut up and let question be answered.
Not a bad video , just ruined by the bloody plonker asking the price of everything all the time.
the host of this is insufferable
Their accents are too heavy. Could only understand 3 out of every 5 words
Worst presenter ever!
