    I just got a big box of polymer clay and sculpting tools from Fire Mountain Gems, and four books- Christi's Flourish, (was happy to discover it's signed!!!) plus Polymer Master Class, and the 2016 and 2019 Polymer Journeys books. WOW. The art and designs featured in these books is breathtaking. I almost didn't order them because I follow some polymer artists on Instagram, but glad I did because they're full of surprises I've never seen online. So excited to get into it... we all need some kind of new craft during this coronavirus quarantine. Thanks for teaching us your craft!

    hello..for first use premo clay should i put some oil or vaseline??or no need

      You shouldn't need to add anything to your clay when you first condition it. It may seem stiff at first, but if you continue to work with it, it will get to the texture you need. Thanks for watching!

    Is it safe to bake it in the regular home oven?

    • @FireMountainGems
      @FireMountainGems  6 років тому +1

      Polymer clay *can* be baked in the regular oven (be sure of your oven temperatures, they can vary significantly). But it's not recommended to mix any food use items with polymer, just to be safe. It's not good to get food particles in your clay, either.
      We strongly advise not baking clay in your food oven.

    Hi , I don't know if you are going to see my comment but I would ask how can I bake a peace and put it again in the oven the peace may be ruined? Like if I put it for 30min and the add another part and put it again in the oven is it going to be burnt?

      You can bake polymer clay again and again. We recommend not rebaking if the piece has been painted or glazed, but from what you're describing, yes you can and it won't burn.

    I saw this lady covering pens and brushes with polymer clay. My question is ... why the hairs on the brush didn’t melt if where baked?

    • @FireMountainGems
      @FireMountainGems  4 роки тому +1

      Polymer clay is baked at a temperature that's too low in which non-synthetic hair would melt.

    Hi can i use a hair dryer to dry the clay?

    • @FireMountainGems
      @FireMountainGems  4 роки тому

      No, we wouldn't recommend using a hair dryer to dry polymer clay.

    I've seen and heard about people quenching their pieces in ice water while still hot. Is that not recommended? I'm not even sure why it's done.

    Would we use oven toaster?

    • @FireMountainGems
      @FireMountainGems  6 років тому +1

      Yes, using a toaster oven like this one fmg.co/T5k2mi is recommended when curing polymer clay.

    Where can i get a counter top convection oven like in your video. I want one with a dome like door to the inside.
    I hope it is something i can get as i know it has been a short time since you did this video. I am very new with this Polymer Clay in fact your video is the third one i have watched ever and i am not sure if it is something I want to do. Where to get that style oven could make it or brake it. Thanks so much
