There's a lot to unpack here and I believe that they did attack this guy. I think it's really, really sad that a family lost their son. Losing someone is a deep type of agony. At the same time, if you pick a fight with someone you never know if that person could be armed or not. Whether that's a knife or a gun, things could turn lethal fast.
I agree. People need to be smarter about that. But people also need to seek non-lethal alternatives. Not every fight needs to lead to the end of someone's life.

Self defense shooting, justified. Those kids jumped him because he was a freshman pledging a different fraternity. Of course they forgot to mention that in this clip though
Lixohh I’m going to assume by your response that you did not actually watch the trial (where he was proven innocent) so I’ll fill you in the best I can. I definitely recommend going and watching the trial yourself though. Like I said in my original comment he was jumped by 2 individuals, he fired on them and they went down. After this happened he proceeded to perform first aid on one of them, tucking his gun in the back of his waistband. It is at this point that he is bum rushed and assaulted again, this time by 5 or 6 individuals who were buddies of the assailants who were shot. They begin punching and kicking, and there is an individual trying to get his gun. It is at this point where he pulls his firearm out and fires it up in the air. Trying to scare them off without any more loss of life. He is able to break free and creates a safe distance from him and his attackers, keeping his his hand on his gun behind his back in order to protect it. Eventually sees law enforcement and drops his weapon, goes up to them and informs them he’s the shooter. Now there is some more details to this that are fuzzy to my because I watched the trial video several days ago. But it is on UA-cam and if you would like I can send you the link that way you have all the information, and from there you can make an informed opinion of the situation.

I honestly feel for the kid, he truly looks distraught and hurt over his actions. Constantly saying he was sorry, asking how badly people were hurt, and seeing the blood on his hands shows he regrets what he’s done.
A fraternity killed my friend. Coerced him to drink the biggest whiskey bottle they could find. 2L.Then left him alone to choke on his vomit. He died. Then they all pretended to be his brothers and cried for attention at his vigil. Brothers don’t do that. They don’t force you to drink poison and leave you alone unconscious. I have seen the toxic mess of fraternity’s. Bunch of douches. All the stereotypes and rumors are true. After I witnessed things first hand, I never let my bf join.
All these trends (frats) are fucking stupid, go against the current I say. Even in High School I kept away from all the trends because of how dumb people are. My condolences for your friend, people such as the ones who murdered your friend really exist in this world. Best thing we can do is remind ourselves and our friends not to fall for peer pressure.

Frats can be vicious especially to softer kids. I imagine as a freshmen he had separation anxiety from his parents and he was being bullied by the boys as frats generally are abrasive. Even a 20 year old kid, can make someone else feel like taking a life. I gathered that information by the kids instant regret. It doesn't make it right but it doesn't mean those kids were innocent. Poor parents never know what their kids get in to at school or with friends.
The shooter was a pledge in a frat himself. The kid was trying to get into their party and they denied him, he became aggressive and threw the first punch, they retaliated. He left the scene and returned with a gun and shot four people. He is a murderer.
The thing is, in Arizona there is a law about self defense. See, you can’t attack the person attacking you unless it’s with the same weapon. Attacker is using fist, therefore Victim defends with fist.
That boy didn't deserve to die, however if they truly did gang up on this kid, they absolutely did deserve to be fired at. I feel terrible for those boy's parents, including the shooter's parents. I actually read an article from Feb 2020 about it a few days ago. Jones( the shooter) is sentenced to 6 years in prison. If it continued, the judges would have to call in 90+ more witnesses bc they can’t make a unanimous decision and since both sides have suffered so much already, they decided to end it there. The family of the “victims” (who we all know are the bullies) still asked for maximum sentence though.
What we don't see in this video is the fact that the frat boys were attacking him and threatening his life. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family that lost a son for sure. As a dad I can't imagine losing my son, but there is more to this story. It honestly gives you a different perspective, especially seeing how remorseful he was and the concern he had for his aggressors.
I was thinking about this - What is the backstory? His physical reactions and emotional reactions does not show a ice cold killer. they show someone pressed into a corner with little options to act.
You're a fucking idiot if you think this was self defense. He left the scene, went to his car to get his gun and came back to shoot them up. Self defense my ass. He could've left.
Wow, I feel so hurt for the parents of the boy that was killed. But I also feel sympathy for the boy who was trying to defend himself from a bunch of drunk bullies. I don’t ever think that violence is the way to solve anything. Wish for the parents that it could have played out another way. I honestly don’t think the boy should go to prison for the rest of his life, but should be charged with manslaughter and some years of his life to know that violence is not the answer. Maybe a little time in prison can help him see that. He should have to pay for what he’s done.
That officer treated/handled that boy so well. In my country, most of the time, if you were caught as suspect, either you’ll end up being shot, on the scene or your face filled with punches and hematomas
Honestly this does sent a good example on why you should just leave people alone if you don’t like them , you can never know what someone is going through and bullying them can trigger something . Yes what has done is so unacceptable, nothing can bear the lost of family or friends, but we can’t just accept that these people are innocent, they pushed him to where he’s killed people and he didn’t even wanna do it , and to where they get put on tv without telling everyone why he did what he did is so wrong .
I honestly never understand how can someone just dislike a person for no reason and bullies them to make them feel miserable. Idk how people can live their life doing that to people. I wonder is it common for bullies to have psychopathy, sociopath and narcissist traits?
I believe both sides are in the wrong. Apparently the guy who was bullied was going back to his car and had his keys in his pockets. He could've left and dealt with the bullies differently. Him coming back 90ft to shoot was retaliation. Worse case scenario he could've just scared them off by shooting once, not at them. There was no need for murder. I've been bullied pretty badly and I wouldn't go all the way there. It doesn't excuse it at all.

People think the can just bully anyone and get away with it. I feel no remorse for the kids who got shot, I know that sounds evil to even say, but this isn't a typical shooting where someone just went psycho and killed innocent people for no reason. This is an incident where someone was being harassed and picked on and it finally pushed him to his breaking point. Granted, his actions was not the best decision but, I truly feel these frat boys scared this dude. Scared him to the point where he felt abused and lost all train of thought from right and wrong. I feel for him and I hope he gets the help that he needs and that he forgives himself.
As a bullied kid I feel so bad for the shooter, he accidentally shot to kill after being harassed by fraternity @ssholes…he shouldn’t have shot the guys in the chest and the guys really needed to grow tf up and quit bullying another student in college…that’s so immature and damaging to everyone
@Michael Smith no it wasn't. He left the scene of the initial altercation and chose to return with a gun and killed somebody. He had no right to do that.
Frat brats like this need to be held accountable they continuously do this across the country and then when the victims finally stand up for themselves they're considered the bad guys smh!
If you’re getting assaulted, or about to get assaulted by a group of guys and you pull out your gun to shoot them, and you eventually do, it’s self defense. You don’t need to be danger of death, you’re defending yourself from being assaulted.

If someone tries to harm me, and I had a gun, you bet I’m gonna shoot to protect myself. If someone dies, well should’ve think twice before you attack an innocent person 🤷♀️
I bet they were even more shocked when they found out that their son had a .285 BAC and marijuana and Xanax in his bloodstream and that he and his friends had chased the shooter into that parking lot beating on him and threatening his life and because of those facts the shooter wasn't convicted.
If you are up against a bunch of drunk 20 year olds looking for a fight, I would argue deadly force is justified. I carry everywhere I go. If I was with my wife and kids and a group of shady dudes approached us with the intent of doing harm, I'm not gonna wait to get my ass kicked. They will be warned that I have a firearm and then fate will decide if they live.

I know Mr. Steven jones, lived in central Phoenix with me before going off to college he’s a good kid and student I believe he felt threatened but due to his intoxication the readily available gun and his thoughts created a perfect storm he acted and this was the result. You can not justify murder how ever we live in a dangerous world where anything can happen. I’m constantly reminded
That poor kid was being attacked by a bunch of chemically altered egotistical frat boys. He was terrified for his life and defended himself. I can't imagine what would have happened to him if he didn't have that gun.

Reminds me, my brother was at a party when these seven boys started punching, kicking and abusing two young men who were new to our college - while they held guns at them. After beating them severely, when they turned to leave, one of the boys who had been bullied shot one of the guys in the back. He deserved it in my opinion.

This is what people don’t understand when you’re bullied everyday by everyone and you don’t know how to stand up for yourself you start to one confidence no one wants to hang around the “bullied kid” they lose friends lose social communication and start to develop an illness which causes their brain to act or react a certain way their mental health starts to slowly( or rapidly decline if they had already had a premature illness from genetics or even from their childhood) they start to talk to less and less people and start to hate them or envy them ( or a mixture of both) their illness causes them to react and their emotions to rapidly change( anger saddness betrayal) they react to their emotions and not their logic, then bad things happen. So to people saying people who are bullied don’t have an excuse you’re both right and wrong. Some people who are bullied have a strong will aren’t bullied every day by not a lot of people and grew up with an ok childhood. Some people are bullied don’t have a strong will are bullied everyday by everyone, and on top of that had a traumatic childhood. The point I’m making is it depend on the person so before you make fun of someone and bully them remember he could be your worst nightmare

Reminds me, my brother was at a party when these seven boys started punching, kicking and abusing two young men who were new to our college - while they held guns at them. After beating them severely, when they turned to leave, one of the boys who had been bullied shot one of the guys in the back. He deserved it in my opinion.
Why would y’all make them reenact a traumatic experience…. that’s fucked tbh
“You don’t move. Everything stops around you.”
So true. 💔
I love the picture they used for the guy who was killed. He looked cracked out on molly
To be that mom/dad that will never be happy again is devastating. Me and my ex wife have friends that just lost their daughter in a shooting. She was a 24 yr old police officer in Indy. Breann Leath. My wife was a dispatcher and i was a Dep Sheriff and we worked them. Devastation. Steve
The girl has nerves of steel, she can be a combat medic, showing how calm she was on the body cam footage was impressive she keeps it cool like a smooth operator.
Lmao those frat boys look guilty asf but I gotta say that was pretty smart off how they got away
This is old lol. They beat the kid up and he got away. They chased him down. He opened up his car door and blew dude away. Moral of this story... play stupid games win stupid prizes.
And if it was an Arab, it was a terrorist… sad world we live in
That’s what happens when you bully people 🤷🏽♂️… it’s not fun when the rabbit has the gun is it ?
