The cut to Doodle running in the parking lot made by whole day.
Me too. I had the biggest grin on my face😆
Sort of like a goofy puppy :-) In a good way.Hey,she runs better than Shadetree :-)
Yeah, she does silly and goofey so elegantly. Classy too and I now have helmet inertia light envy!
Y’all are cracking me up 😅
What if Doodle is the key to sustainable energy for the world, not nuclear fission. Perpetual doodle motion machine.
This channel is quickly rising to the top of my list. Always informative with great humor. The helmet light test cracked me up.
Awesome! I ended up loving night riding more than during the day as the roads are emptier, especially when the sky is clear and the moon is bright. Love that helmet break light and the reflective sticker idea =D
❤ your enthusiasm and passion for motorcycling…it is infectious, and you have the cutest personality!
Great video.
To be honest I didn't understand why you had those little red lights on your gloves and boots when I saw them in your stories.
But when your said hand signals it just clicked.
Doodle is way smart.
😋🤓
Hi-vis stickers for rims are also nice, you are more visible from the side and in turns. That light's on gloves are smart, and helmet light is cool AF. I have cold neon light on one of my helmets for night riding, and I think I will put additional red lights under sub frame to light up when I'm breaking. Only thing that I really want is moooaaaarrr light up front. I like to ride on forrest and back roads with no street lights and I think my bike is lacking in this department.
Great info Doodle. Your channel is getting better and better.
The helmet light is really cool! I gotta try that
Great video. I live 45 mins south of Atlanta, and commute to Atlanta on my 01 Softail Deuce pretty much daily (as long as weather allows), and, in my morning commute, it is dark (leave at 5am). I ordered a Proviz jacket, and some shatterproof glasses, and going to get the same wheel lock. Appreciate all your videos! Stay safe out there!!!
I'm 65 and have astigmatism which I used to cope with ok, even 40 years ago when bike headlights were about as bright as a candle in a lamp holder but now, even though the headlights are a lot better I really try and avoid night riding. I can hardly see anything and when lights are coming the other way I am virtually blind so I avoid that at all costs. I even avoid driving the car at night the way they are now, and this from a bloke who was working as a long haul truck driver who DID prefer traveling at night, purely because of the lesser number of other vehicles to slow me down.
night blindness is a whole thing all by itself; i've always been nightblind. an unlit road is like driving down a dark hole. well lit roads i do enjoy. in the summer i ride at nite to escape 100+ degree heat. have a daymaker in my harley but i dont find that sufficient on a dark road when u consider that u should be able to stop in the distance u can see. at the same time i dont want to blind other drivers with outrageous LED's.
Just in case you didn’t find out yet . You can buy adjustable eye glass straps from amazon . They slide on the ends of your eye glasses and adjust for comfort in the back .
Happy riding 👍🏻
Tons of useful information here, Doodle! Great job! You will see a huge difference in LED headlamps. Additionally, they draw much less current so idling for long periods with yur lights on will not tend to cause battery drain. They are terrific! I did mention you to Kayla and she said that she'd be in contact with you (Haha! We'll see!)
Wonderful video and great service you are providing. Visibility is the key to safety at night. Oh, thanks for the security tips and crash resistant glasses. I’ll have to check them out. Great video and thanks so much for sharing. 😀 👍
Wow, the helmet rear tail light is really cool!
I think so too!
Saw you on Chey's birthday stream, that was sweet of you :-) Now ya see why I love the Arai Defiant, that little groove for your glasses. Arai is also the ONLY reason Yammie is still above ground. That head on with a Porsche probably got him about 15 feet of air (so glad he doesn't squid anymore). The light kit looks good,I was afraid you had just gotten a light strip or something.Great vid as always! If you ever roll down to central Florida give us all a heads up. You and folks like Her Two Wheels are doing an awesome job of showcasing female riders. It's a sausage fest out there and anything helps.Ride safe.
sausage fest lol. whenever kids or grown ups stop to admire my bike i say, see? girls can ride too.
Love the light up sticker things Lali put in her helmet too :)
Oh my gosh that helmet light is genius!
So glad that you gave us the 411 on your experiences about something that few force themselves to ever do if they are uncomfortable with doing it. Because people are more likely to run you over at night, I would consider draping myself is flashing Christmas lights that change colors continuously, but I'm certain that entirely illegal. Your eyes are like mine, we are both near-sighted, and darkness and weather effects our ability to see very far. Unfortunately seeing ahead is the secret to staying alive while riding. Great video Doodle. Thank You.
u might get away with christmas lights at christmas time; i am very tempted.
Great info and video! I have always been an Arai guy and always will. You cannot put a price on having the best!
Scratches on the visor are also are real problem in the winter when temps are in the 30's. Yep, I ride when it's that cold. Just not in snow/ice. I went ahead and got contacts for all my riding even though like Lali (thanks for letting me know her channel exists), I never wanted to put my fingers near my eyeballs. The helmet light is neat, thanks for sharing that.
I was a kickstart supporter of the BrakeFree......great product!!
Awesome!!
Many good tips in this one. I'm definitely interested in the shatterproof glasses. I certainly try to ride during the day as much as possible, but it doesn't always work like that. Especially, in the winter when the sun sets before I get off at 5:00 p.m.
While we wait for Doodles review of them if you want to start researching the company it's Wiley X. They make ballistic glasses and can put prescriptions in I believe any lens they make.
I already did in the video 🤪 it’s in the description with a discount code
@@DoodleOnAMotorcycle sorry, I thought you said you would do a more in depth review.
That light for the back of the helmet 😍 I want! You really do your homework, thanks Doodle!!!
Thanks Doodle, you are the greatest !
Great job the be seen and extra lights on the bike i love the brake light on the helmet i must get one now thanks for putting that on . Glad you are feeling more comfortable at night riding :) .
Great and informative video, thank you
Great video Doodle! Visibility at night is key. I added more side reflectors to my Tiger 1200 because it is Jet Black and I felt side visibility was minimal especially when the side panniers eclipsed the rear side reflectors. Front and rear no problem. All my riding gear has reflective material.
I'm glad your glasses came in finally! Future Doodle seemed to like them but it seems like a freak coincidence that you both have the same prescription, BTW... 🤔
Awesome stuff Lady!!
Ride SAFE and BE safe Doodle!
Great lights you have at night 🌃😎👍 Thankgod the glasses fit in ok inside your helmet and you can now see ok.
I have a tracker on mine I got from eBay for $60. You have to wire it in to the battery on the bike. But I tired it in to a wire so they can’t unhook it if they find it. And I have a app on my phone that tracks it. I can set a alarm that if my bike moves 1’ my phone will set off a alarm.
Awesome video Doodle. Full of great advice for riders beginning to ride at night. Can't wait to hear what you think of the shatter proof glasses.
I just told you! 🤪
I have a high-vis fluorescent yellow jacket and helmet, and I ran a line of reflective red tape around the base of the helmet 👌🏻
Awesome video Doodle. I'm happy the glasses worked out for you.
We love a night-rider Doodle. Stay safe out there, Bye
You might want to consider a helite vest airbag...they have offices in the US in California (its a french company) and might offer one for free/sponsor to you
lots of cool stuff, the helmet light, even running and stopping it came on. the glove and boot lights. really neat stuff. those yellow tac glasses for night driving, i wonder if they would work with cycle riding. thanks fot this video. really helps.
I use photo chromatic rimless Oakley cycling glasses ( EVZero) ... shatterproof, highly scratch /heat resistant, weightless , adjust to any light condition - sunny.,overcast, night and the prism lenses accentuates contrast dramatically which is great all round ( brain does less work deciphering objects Eg tree from shadow) but especially for road surface. Cuts some glare at night too. Vizor up to keep cooler and glasses protecters from debris. They're Perfection. Ohh and they dont slide on your face. Oakley do prescription as well
When we ride at night make Shure you have a helmet with a sheald or a windshield, the bugs still go for the light so if no type of sheald its very easy to get a teeth full of bugs for when I ride I'm so happy it's really hard to contain my smile an butter fly wings are not my favorite delicious treat chow Doodle remember ride like no one else has any eyeballs 💛
Go get nose pads for glasses. It will help stop the sliding down on your nose. They aren't expensive. You look awesome in them btw. Thank you for sharing. Much love. Stay healthy and safe.
🤓
What’s happened to your indicator Caro🤔? Doodle in the dark! 🤣 😘🏍♥️
😋
Been thinking about buying that helmet light for a Good while. This is the first I've seen anyone actually using one.
Chaseontwowheels has it on his channel too 😋
You’re new gloves are the same ones I have. They’re great. I spilled in the parking lot and they saved my palms
Sweet!
Here in France, you need to put on your helmet the 4 supplied reflective stickers. Not sure you get them in the US, but you can start by that. Not everyone does it here, of course. Ride safe!
Neat! Hadn’t heard of that
Great Vid! First time hearing about that helmet light and I love the concept. Thanks for turning me on to this!
Reflective rim tape works wonders for side visibility
Thank you Doodle for such a great video I have not seen any one do a video about riding in the dark. Sone have mentioned a few things about riding in the dark but none that I have seen have done such a in depth video. Great job! You made me laugh at your comment that you look like your dad. Why is it that we all seem to be afraid of looking or acting like our parents. That is kind of interesting.
I don’t want to look like a 60 year old man 🤪
@@DoodleOnAMotorcycle i wont cut my hair short because i dont want to look like my mother lol. maybe it's a girl thing.
Wow! That helmet light is dope.
I just ordered my helmet light! Thanks for discount DOODLE!
Sweet! 😃
@@DoodleOnAMotorcycle Have you seen the Raylier jacket? It's suttle luminous high visibility lights are elegantly placed to enhance rider safety. I'd really love to see you do a night ride review of the women's version and maybe get your man to help with the men's version. What do you think?
I am shocked that I haven’t!! That is cool!
Hola me fascina el entusiasmo que le pones a los detalles en cada tema! Looking for the next video. Saludos desde San Juan.
Pepe
I rided my 125cc Yamaha dt in the middle of winter to a place called whitby home of Dracula apparently lolwas cold when i set off then riding home started to snow i felt totally safe as it was 2am when i look back i think why but i totally enjoyed the experience.. im looking to by a Yamaha 300 trisisty because i never get my bike license.. just want to have fun and enjoy my previous experience
Really cool; I might never thought of stuff like this. (Not riding at the moment.)
By the way, it might be wise to get your left-front-indicator fixed. Am not sure, but if rain could get to your contacts on the indicator, it might short your electrics.
yeah, I seen that too .... but since I got similar issues, which, you know
Yesterday i had my first night ride since i got my licence in May this year and i must say it wasn't at all scarry, frankly i enjoed it 😁
So no need to be scarred just keep your eyes opened and DO not ride with smoked visoir at night😉
Love your enthusiasm. 😁
safety first ! love all the lights !!!! 🎈
I swear to God I love you.
I absolutely would lose the key to my disc brake lock too.
LOL.
Thank you for showing all your bad times and good times too.
I almost think you might have a black luck cloud like mine around you.
Keep up the great videos, doodle.
Edit-Helmet shields should be replaced as soon as glare from scratches becomes an issue. They are pretty cheap too. I would replace mine once a year if they got knicked up. Heck, the old ones would scratch right away if you wiped them with the wrong things. Nothing like looking through a kaleidiscope driving down the road. Thankfully, todays plastic compounds are far more scratch resistant.,
Definitely not - I have a very good luck cloud 😜
@@DoodleOnAMotorcycleAwesome.
I have to agree when you ride through a essentially through a hurricane safely.
Your experience in that proves if you ride with caution and common sense ,you can pretty much ride all year until the surface temperature gets to 40 degrees or lower.
Keep riding ,stay safe and keep up the great video work.
I used to night ride until I was heading home late from a fall foliage run with some friends. We were on the interstate, I was the last in line with a semi 100 yards behind me. A racoon came running across the road and connected with my left foot and fortunately paseed in between my wheels and I stayed up. Otherwise, that semi would have turned me to paste.
riding in the dark . a lot of us who ride turn into pumpkins if we aint indoors by 1800 loooool i see your keepin cody busy
my night riding vest thing lights up i think its ment for joggers but it can be diffrent colors or pulse and it uses like el string to wrap around you with a reflector band in the middle
Amazing…Doodle is even cuter at night. I didn’t think that was possible🤔💯🏍🔥🦾
That looks like my disc lock. You are better off without that. It had an audible alarm. However, one time the alarm did not go off when I got on my bike and I forgot it and took off. The estimate for repair was $2000.00 for the Triumph dealer. I still paid $1300.00 at a local shop. So, not recommended.
If you have a problem slipping your glasses into your helmet, you can remove some of the foam where the temple pieces go. Very little will do. I can explain if you want to know how.
Yr Amazing n give me hope. I hope to get bak out there soon xxx lost all my confidence so its takin a little longer than I thout xxx
maybe two years late, but you may have noticed trucks and Pickups often have a heap of Orange/amber lights up the side of them... Amber Marker lights are perfectly legal, and will help you to be seen. so if somebody want's to have led lights running along the frame or where ever... use Orange ones, and if a cop want's to give you a ticket, just take photos of trucks, pickups and even factory fitted marker lights on any other type of vehicle such as Vans. and when you fight it in court, show them to the judge and ask why if it is LEGAL then why did you receive a ticket for wanting to be as visible as bigger vehicles and use the same technique and colour of light as those bigger vehicles.
When it’s foggy your glasses are gonna fog up be prepared for that,it’ll happen I think amber lenses will help with bright light at night, last night I got caught in the fog my glasses fogged up couldn’t see plus my taillight bulb blew so I didn’t have any rear lights at all,as far as tightening your glasses goes get you a safety strap & they’ll after you adjust them keep your glasses close to your face, keeps the wind out too, with me wind sometimes gets under my glasses & makes my vision blurry so I try to keep my glasses as close as I can,the only tip I have for rain is good rain gear Nelson rig rain gear I’m a full time rider & I can swear by Nelson rig rain gear, won’t keep you warm but it’ll keep you dry,if you’re riding in @ night I also recommend deer whistles on the front of your bike you can get them at any parts store or online ride safe
Great video; really useful info....Thanks!
Fly me to the moon...!! Nah, just light me up like the moon...!!! Great Vid Doodle..!!!
Not sure if anyone else said this (Quickly looked through the other comments, so I may have missed it), if you install LEDs you may need a relay to help with the current. I had to install a new relay for my blinkers and integrated taillight because neither where working when I first got my bike. Once that was installed, the blinkers worked and taillight (brake light and running light) started working.
Thank! Didn’t know about the current
Blinker links require relays or flashers so they blink. It doesn't matter what type bulb they are. The headlight LEDs come pretty much plug and play now.
Doodle, I love how as safe as possible you are being while riding at night. Being seen in the dark is a good thing. Oh I love your glasses they are very styling and profiling. See you on Friday. 🙂. Jay Leno is a Arai Helmet wearer.
I'm glad that my comment's about the l.e.d lights were helpful, now make some night riding videos!!
Doodle, get yourself some UV blue-blocker clip-ons for your glasses. Reading signage at night with astigmatism will improve a lot. Peeps are used to seeing people wearing dark shades, not yellowish ones.... They'll get used to it. Seriously.
There’s always a Debbie downer in the group, and this time it’s me….I’ve been involved in 3 motorcycle accidents, hit all three times, all in broad daylight. I’m still here because of ATGATT. I’m leaving Friday for a cross country trip. Headed down south from New England solo, then meeting a friend to head out west. They haven’t stopped me yet. I’m all for what you’re promoting and doing, but we’re not too safe out here no matter what.
i have over 70,000 night time miles on my 2017 road glide, i prefer riding instead of watching TV after work, simple as that, Deer Whistles are a must, i have 15 of them on my road glide, heated grips make all the difference, invest in bigger headlights and convert your turn signals to headlights, and add ALL THE RUNNING LIGHTS in the entire catalogue to your motorcycle. The goal is to blind the ppl behind you with brake lights, and blind the ppl ahead of you with deer lamps for cornering, and also make sure too you have charcoal in town BEFORE you go back out to the trail lol
The helmet light is cool. I probably can use that for work .
Those lights are cool... Every night rider should have those it seems..
I wear prescription glasses. On top of them I wear fit's over glasses impact resistant sunglasses during the day and fit's over glasses impact resistant clear safety glasses at night. They both fit nicely in my extra small Bilt helmet.
awesome vid as always
My biggest problem with glasses on a long day of riding, is if the temples are tight enough to keep them from slipping down, they give me a headache after a while.
Light up like the moon!
They make eyeglass nose pads to help them from slipping. LED lights will help a lot...are you also going to look into a new windshield? Best wishes and keep up the great work.
She should get the optigrab!
LOL!

Riding with spectacle in winter is one of my biggest obstacles in life.
😋
Customtaylor33 reflective rim tape is by far the brightest on the market.
I liked the helmet light.
Was planning on buying that disc brake lock but saw a video, lockpickinglawer and he opened that lock in less than a minute?
Crazy, theifs are always a step ahead.
Thief’s aren’t as smart as that guy - none of us are
Doodle always makes me laugh.
"Night Time is the Right Time" by Ray Charles can now be your theme song.
En realidad hace falta agregar el seguro a las luces para el casco 🤔 es tan frágil 🤔
The jogger lights, and the helm lights are a good idea. I wana give it a try... but I think it might be illegal in Sweden :/ They have very strict rules on lights / color and noise. You can't custom paint your helmet or bike - and I believe attaching light up decals/ or lights to your helmet is also a violation :/
Yes good to check your local laws!
Just to be pedantic - motorcyclists aren't 27 times more likely to get in accident - they are 27 times more likely to die in accident. The night time riding statistic you mentioned was also from 3pm to 9pm - which isn't completely night time - seems more like when there are more vehicles/motorcycles on the road.
And drivers are tired, impatient and not paying attention to little old us.
I ordered and installed the rear brake light thing that you've touted on various videos. Have you had any issues with that device causing a "whistling" noise at roughly 55mph or faster? Thanks.
Here's one piece of anecdotal information. The only time one of my bikes has hit the ground was a freak high side. Yeah, when I do it I go all the way. Played superman for about 10 feet and landed flat on my face. The visor to be specific. I was also wearing glasses. While the visor did crack it did not come apart and I walked away with only a sore wrist. It was well about 105 degrees that day and I was thankful I had full gear on. I was wearing a Shoei RF-1200. The high side wasn't even the craziest part of a day that included a screaming crazy woman continually firing warning shots at a couple hispanic guys and a nasty small town sheriff.
Whooooa
We are NOT 27% more of a chance to crash on a moto vs a car. We are 27% more likely to die from an accident than a car is likely to die. Statistically, we get into WAY FEWER accidents than car drivers do. When we wreck..we die...but we barely ever wreck in comparison to car drivers. True story.
I'm watching!
Wait, you commute in the winter, how cold does it get?
Not that cold here in GA 🤪
You might try a strap for your glasses to keep them in place. It's not a fashion statement no worries keeping in place while riding.
Shut the front door, I never saw a woman get so excited about new glasses!
I made a large batch of Mamajuana...from now on, in my head at least its Doodle Juuse. :)
Hey that’s what we call my grandma 😃 although I don’t think you’re referencing a Dominican grandma… 🤪 💨
@@DoodleOnAMotorcycle well no I'm not 😎. it's a Dominican, supposedly medicinal alcoholic drink. They/I make it with the local herbs and spices. It's supposed to be good for what ales you, but I think it's just an excuse to drink shots. 😆
😂
Question, which helmet is more comfortable with glasses? The Shoei or the Arai?
ARAI 💯!! They make a slit for glasses
That helmet light is pretty cool, so what was the brand of the brake lock that took the Lock Smith two hours to cut off ?
@@STho205 true, but be nice lock to have for piece of mind. We had rash of thieves using a van at a State Park and Engine hoist to just hoist up the bikes from the parking lot, so if they want it bad enough they find a way to get it.
Kryptonite! I put everything shown in videos in the description 😊
Great information Doodle 😊, well done Kody the handy man 👏👏👏👏 your new setup looks fab could you have a sign off phrase please? 😉 Pretty please 💕💕
Any suggestions? 😋
@@DoodleOnAMotorcycle how about, it's Doodle signing off, until I see you in the next video , stay safe 😉💕
I see you with the makeup on, pretty. Anyways, I wear a safety vest like the crossing guards and construction workers do but thats day and night and I even took the pin clip off one of my old nametags to keep the velcro from coming undone and becoming a hi-viz cape while i ride which is why I got a clip to hold it together. Next helmet is gonna be a hi-viz one. Scorpion has one for sale at CycleGear but I got four more years on my current bucket. Ride safe if you do continue to ride into the night
the shades i got are construction worker safety glasses, UV protection and ANSI approved. Plus i got them at my previous work with a discount. Woot woot
I like the brake light but I can't afford one at 169.99. I'm retired with very little income. I wish there was alternatives that were cheaper. I do like that it lights up when you simply slow down. Hmm.. I do have an old cellphone. Cell phones have accelerometers. I wonder if someone could simply make an app that could do this.
phone on the handlebars... in daylight I have full brightness on, but have to dim it way down at night
