These are two top notch actors and they did a phenomenal job. So sad that the subtitles were so bad. Either they didnt make sense or I thought I was reading conversations and it was words to the songs. I've seen this version four other times and this one was the most emotional of all of them. As far as depression, she was depressed because the husband she loved, who supposedly loved her was treating her so crappily.

Its his first love, he loved her since she was a child and was sure of her. From the conversations they've never admitted to loving each other. She believed him when he said he loved 3rd party, the mum told her he loved the 3rd party ( hurry and divorce as my son isnt coming home because he is angry that he married you) and he was forced to marry because of grandma. These little seeds nian lead to big misunderstandings.
Producers of this channel: If you're going to provide subtitles, the viewers are NOT interested in the words to the crappy music. We want the dialogue between the characters in the drama. Lord knows the subtitles are bad enough at the best of times.

The characters are lovingly and thoughtfully drawn; deep, vulnerable, and flawed. The ML actor is breathtaking to watch. I assume it's a combination of his acting and the writing that so vividly puts across his character as a clown who keeps life at a distance by never taking anything too seriously, until all his defenses are stripped away and he has no choice but to grow up. The FL is deeply sensitive and viscerally afraid to love after accepting hurt as a way of life for so long. As much as I could tell via the horrifically bad auto-captions, their dialogue often seemed deep and touching. There are so many beautiful little touches: how afraid he is of opening a certain door for fear it will reveal that she's gone; his pleasure and anticipation when she bursts into his office furiously while he's in the middle of a meeting, and how readily he shoos everyone else out so he can have it out with her. I kept steeling myself for the dumb ending where he takes a knife for her, but this drama doesn't resort to cheap tricks. I can't recommend it highly enough.
This is such a well made drama, I have swollen eyes to prove it! Had watched another version some time back but I have to say that this is a much better version. The casting was well done and the characters had depth and development which is surprising in a short drama like this. However, it would help a great deal if one is somewhat fluent in Mandarin as the subtitles are way off in some parts. Overall, I would still recommend this ❤❤

He really smashed every piece of love and light out of her. He made her hate every day. I wish she'd just told him. Instead of keeping it all inside. It was so sad to see someone so pretty so sad when life is so great. he ruined years of her life for an idea that she fancied someone else, he made her compare herself constantly to his ex. Her love died. He let it dwindle. He didn't fix it. It should have been the end of them. This doesn't feel like a happy end

I like he jianqi so much but id rather watch it in apps because the sound effects and translation give it more excitement and the movie will be more appreciated though theres a lots of ads in the apps unlike here in youtube it makes a good movie boring because theres no sound effect and the translation is very bad
I really enjoyed this version and drama, partially because of my fav main actors Wang Gege and He Jianqi. They both were excellent! Their acting didn’t disappoint at all! I just didn’t like the deep misunderstandings between the ml & fl and the dark secret that the Zhou family hid from the fl. The ml was like an impulsive, immature adult while fl was more mature and reserved. That green tea villainess wasn’t as evil as others I’ve seen but she was still hateful, however she was a big help to the fl towards the end. That ending tho?? Wth?? Anyways, I’m gonna go rewatch the version with Wang Kaimu, also my fav actor. I like his character better, more mature with great sarcasm and humor😍
