this is the only chinese short drama that i found makes sense. no nonsense yapping, no showing offs bs just to flex who got more moneys when its obviously wants longen the pointless conversation that goes nowhere. i think this is the better cn drama to watch. 👍🏻

Those tears are fake & only shed due to guilt of being caught. He didn't really love or miss her until she wasn't available. He didn't realize how dedicated & loyal she was until the end when it was too late.
The FL showed so much pain and emotions in her eyes so it goes to show how delusional he was in thinking he fooled her. How could he look in her eyes and not see the pain he was causing her? Even if the mistress wasn't texting and provoking the wife, the fact that he always got pulled away by phone calls and never spent time with his wife would make it obvious he's cheating. He let his friends talk him into taking a mistress but they didn't have a love they would have been devastated to lose. Why take advice from people like that? I've watched several versions of this storyline and this one is the best.
This is the best short drama of all the dramas I have watched. The story is interesting and from start to finish there is no boring or long-winded dialogue. The characters of each character are played quite well. This drama is worth recommending.
It’s a difficult story-line to watch because it was so sad, but the acting was wonderful. The female actress is one of my favorites because she’s an amazing in all her performances. The ML (Who has played some wonderful hero) a good job on us disliking him, even with his ugly cry, it wasn’t too bad. Her best friend, who is usually the bad evil girl, did a really good job too. 😌 The ending to this drama was very satisfactory.

This is the fourth version of this I've watched. I know the plot but it's still heart breaking to watch the fl go through all that, and still managing to hold on till she can finally leave. I didn’t cry as others in the comments said, I hate cheaters so it didn’t move me. I felt empathy even for the miss-tress but not him, for my point of view she had some fault but in the end she kinda was a victim too… She was right when she started spitting facts at him… Why he was with her all the time If he loved his wife, why cheat on the wife and even make a baby to her (the ms), why leave her alone all the time, why he didn’t make a baby to his wife, why he treated the ms as his wife prioritising the ms if he was soooo in love with his wife. If you really love someone you don’t make her suffer this way and it was worsened since he know what childhood trauma she was carrying. The friends pretext it’s vague, an idiotic excuse, cuz someone can tell you what to do, but in the end you do what you want, no one forces you, you make your own decisions, that simple. Heartbreakingly beautiful leaving you with anger at the husband at the beginning of the story, & more anger as the story unfolds yet at the same time you still feel very satisfied seeing how brilliantly the wife controls herself and maintains her sanity as she plans her "grand exit" . Love the acting especially the scene where the husband reads his wife's letter. The portrayal of regret & loss is so heartbreaking real. Salute the actor's talent. As always in dramas & in real life too, regret almost never came early or on time. Regret is fated to always come late. Never punctual this regret thing😅. But once it comes it stays forever.

The storyline is getting better and better. This story is simple and make sense. No repetitive unnecessary scenes like multiple kidnapping, or using unnecessary additional character to drag the duration. I also appreciate that this one don't rush the ending. I hope, someday, the actors and actresses can improve their acting quality too. Especially in sad acting, the main actor even wailing without a single tears, and I can't feel any of their emotion at all. But overall, great job😊

The many opportunities /temptations they faced daily and the kind of so called good brothers /friends cheering you on to cheat. But in the end he is the one responsible for his decisions. His success has gone to his head. So egotistic and proud, thinking he can managed both woman well. It was so sad to see he actually give the wedding dress away.

The FL was excellent and what she did and how she did it was everything for me.. Like as a woman, you never want to think your relationship has ended but the minute you decide to let go... then let go! And she did just that! One week after she found out everything.. during that time you gave him opportunities to either confess or atleast stay with you to show that you genuinely loved her despite your cheating and you didn't take it because you're still thinking that you've gotten away with it and you can still manipulate the situation.. well boohoo for you.. It sure as hell didn't work out the way you wanted😂 So the FL here is now my new role model 😊 FL bestie.. Can I say just how refreshing it is to see her in such a good role.. like She's so beautiful and her acting skills are always on point especially when she plays those green tea roles but it was sooooo nice seeing her here in a good role.. fl and ml's acting was very beautiful, the ending was satisfying and sad, it had two great lessons for women, in my opinion, never destroy the life of any woman and don't be the third person in a relationship, because whatever you do, it will come back to you one day, your karma. ML deserves an acting award. Screenplay and director needs to be recognized for a well executed drama. It was well cast with notable acting from everyone. This a story with a moral lesson. One can't saddle 2 horses or have both feet in 2 different boats without feeling the repercussions. Sincerity can't be divided at a whim. Highly recommended! Just make sure to have a box of tissue to soak up your tears.

As many of you commented, I cried as well. The acting was so good that I could feel their pain. FL for being betrayed so tremendously; ML for realising his own stupidity too late; the FLs friend for losing her friend because of an idiot husband, and may I say, I'm so happy to see her in a adult role, and for not being the villain as usual. All the actors did their job so well that I even cried for Zhao Zhendong (ML) for his portrayal of the cheating husband. Kudos to the entire cast and crew.

In my 10 years of career, I've seen a lot of clients going through marital promblems or problems related to domestic violence. Even the ones I consider as 'scum on earth' were there with thier spouse during bad times like funerals. For example, there was a violent husband who beat his wife black and blue was nice to his wife during her dad's funeral. When asked during a session about it, he said "I know you really think of me as a bastard, but even I was raised by a mom and dad". I chose to share this story because I couldn't understand what kind of a beast this husband is. AND why do script writers chose to portray bad husbands as the most evil on earth? I mean, him simply cheating would have been enough for the story to progress.
So that the viewers will never sympathize with him. And I'm glad the writers gave the injured wife the justice she deserves by making her husband regret his sins for a lifetime without the possibility of reconciliation. Hard for him to see her living her new life to the fullest, harder for him to see that he no longer has a place for him in her heart. Justice, I say!

I must say this is the most satisfying ending i watched. I can feel all the emotions. This is the ending i wanted when i watch those mistress drama. They know what they r here for and delivered their role so gorgeously. The mistress was played by one of my favorite actresses. She has presence and is believable. The actors were top notch. Best friend is usually bad girl, I like her much better as loyal best friend. FL was beautiful in an understated way.
All mistresses think the cheating husband loves them in these dramas and cheating is not a mistake. It's a choice and it doesn't make sense to have the same mistake repeatedly. He was just selfish and she was a bi*ch for how many times she would taunt the wife to her face and in text messages. All she wanted was that man's money and power, and she proved that with the phone call in his wife's bed. If he wasn't rich, she wouldn't have given him a second thought. She loved that game, him doing all these things for her behind his wife's back and his friends knowing as well. Made the wife a laughing joke.
yes, ML's despair also touched me, he absolutely conveyed it very well, I even thought it was a bit too much, but empathizing with the story where ML chased FL in high school probably quite a long time and got it, he got married and from the rest you can say that they had beautiful moments... he listened to stupid colleagues who advised him to have an affair and introduced him to the sFL, it destroyed everything, destroyed everything to such an extent that he lost his love to the extent that he lost his love forever.
The first time I cried for this kind of series. The female lead did a great job to convey her feelings to the watchers. Her eyes says it all even though she’s not much speaking with her husband. Every time she’s in the scene, I cried for her. It’s just too painful to see her disappointment every time they’re with each other. The last scene is my favorite part, she’s still young and pretty. I watched bcuz i wanted to see the elaborate crying scene. It was, but im not convinced he truly loved her. This man doesn't know what love is because you don't deliberately hurt someone you love. Men with power feel they are "entitled " to have whatever they want. Have their cake and eat it too. When he got caught he blamed the woman he disregarded his wife for (so many times) not accepting the responsibility that HE was responsible for destroying his marriage. Always easier to blame someone else. Im dissapointed that the wife kept her emotions to herself. There were so many, "oh, hell no" moments. She's intelligent and had financial resources. If she was determined to take part of this experiment so be it. Bfore she exited she should have taken 1/2 of everything and donated to a cause. This way she would have left her footprint in the timeline she was in. She let him off WAYYYY to easy. Wonderful production. Wonderful acting. 1st time seeing this storyline. I am watching this for the second time. Very beautiful portrayal of the hideous reality of what appears to be a happy & loving couple. The heat 😡 begins early. 3:04 he clearly states his intention. No marriage. Just something along the line of enjoying "the moment together" sealed with a 💍& 💋 in a club or bar somewhere witnessed by the wife who was invited by the 🍵to watch the event. So now who are we going to blame? The husband? The🍵tea? Or the husband's friends who encourage him to have extra marital affairs? Me? What an amazing story, I gotta confess that it hurts me the way she practically “disappeared” but she did the correct thing, being unfaithful is unforgivable and more if that person used to be the one that saved you in the worst moments, he deserves the suffering because he betrayed her in the worst way 🙂
Love the story. FL is fantastic here. I even felt bad for her friend who sort of lost her. And also for the mistress. ML was full-blown scum - gave a ring and 'I love you' to the mistress, building up her hopes. The lead actress portrayed her role beautifully - the way she didn't fight with her hubby the way her parents did. She didn't have any hopes left there to fight for. She sort of even punished herself for forgetting the lesson she learnt fr her parents' marriage. The lead actor also did fantastic job of making me hate him. The production quality of this drama is excellent. Thank you to all involved in its making. I thoroughly enjoyed it - inspite of it not being a 'love story'. Keep up the good work 🥰🥰🥰
This thing reminds us, not all wrong things we makes are easy to forgive. Maybe we can forgive but it will always not forgettable. So before we make a mistake in our life we have to think about it a million times. This ML and FL are also my favorite leads. The ML really awesome in this story.. Those tears are fake & only shed due to guilt of being caught. He didn't really love or miss her until she wasn't available. He didn't realize how dedicated & loyal she was until the end when it was too late.
The FL showed so much pain and emotions in her eyes so it goes to show how delusional he was in thinking he fooled her. How could he look in her eyes and not see the pain he was causing her?
Even if the mistress wasn't texting and provoking the wife, the fact that he always got pulled away by phone calls and never spent time with his wife would make it obvious he's cheating.
He let his friends talk him into taking a mistress but they didn't have a love they would have been devastated to lose. Why take advice from people like that?
I've watched several versions of this storyline and this one is the best.
This is the best short drama of all the dramas I have watched. The story is interesting and from start to finish there is no boring or long-winded dialogue. The characters of each character are played quite well. This drama is worth recommending.

It’s a difficult story-line to watch because it was so sad, but the acting was wonderful. The female actress is one of my favorites because she’s an amazing in all her performances. The ML (Who has played some wonderful hero) a good job on us disliking him, even with his ugly cry, it wasn’t too bad. Her best friend, who is usually the bad evil girl, did a really good job too. 😌 The ending to this drama was very satisfactory.

Ashes of Love is a great drama. However, on Netflix there's 64 sequence videos and on UA-cam there will find separate videos here and there. Magic with fun, seriousness and sadness with great action.

Regret happens in drama only. In real life they would get over it within days even if there is some guilt. He was fine keeping another woman, even gave dress meant for wife to her. Ran out whenever the mistress called all the time. Had children with her. He was just not ready for divorce yet.

This is the fourth version of this I've watched. I know the plot but it's still heart breaking to watch the fl go through all that, and still managing to hold on till she can finally leave. I didn’t cry as others in the comments said, I hate cheaters so it didn’t move me. I felt empathy even for the miss-tress but not him, for my point of view she had some fault but in the end she kinda was a victim too… She was right when she started spitting facts at him… Why he was with her all the time If he loved his wife, why cheat on the wife and even make a baby to her (the ms), why leave her alone all the time, why he didn’t make a baby to his wife, why he treated the ms as his wife prioritising the ms if he was soooo in love with his wife.
If you really love someone you don’t make her suffer this way and it was worsened since he know what childhood trauma she was carrying.
The friends pretext it’s vague, an idiotic excuse, cuz someone can tell you what to do, but in the end you do what you want, no one forces you, you make your own decisions, that simple. So blaming the friends it’s a shitty excuse to me.

Heartbreakingly beautiful leaving you with anger at the husband at the beginning of the story, & more anger as the story unfolds yet at the same time you still feel very satisfied seeing how brilliantly the wife controls herself and maintains her sanity as she plans her "grand exit" .
Love the acting especially the scene where the husband reads his wife's letter. The portrayal of regret & loss is so heartbreaking real. Salute the actor's talent.
As always in dramas & in real life too, regret almost never came early or on time. Regret is fated to always come late. Never punctual this regret thing😅. But once it comes it stays forever.

The storyline is getting better and better. This story is simple and make sense. No repetitive unnecessary scenes like multiple kidnapping, or using unnecessary additional character to drag the duration. I also appreciate that this one don't rush the ending.
I hope, someday, the actors and actresses can improve their acting quality too. Especially in sad acting, the main actor even wailing without a single tears, and I can't feel any of their emotion at all.

@@jackieloloKin most of them she just went abroad, he found her sooner or later and even had a chance to talk with her or even hold her hand, thanks God, FL doesn't come back to cheater, but there was version where he had a chance to die in her arms and she even cried for him, so this, where he knew that he will never be able to be with her again, not even talk with her, was satisfying.
This is just so sad for once there is unique drama without the evil in-laws, hidden identities and talks about wealth and status this drama really moved me I actually cried

Welllll damnnnn... That was something else 😂 This is my first version of this story and I'm deeply impressed 😊 Like daaammmnnn!!! It was just absolutely beautiful.. The FL was excellent and what she did and how she did it was everything for me.. Like as a woman, you never want to think your relationship has ended but the minute you decide to let go... then let go! And she did just that! One week after she found out everything.. during that time you gave him opportunities to either confess or atleast stay with you to show that you genuinely loved her despite your cheating and you didn't take it because you're still thinking that you've gotten away with it and you can still manipulate the situation.. well boohoo for you.. It sure as hell didn't work out the way you wanted😂 So the FL here is now my new role model 😊

fl and ml's acting was very beautiful, the ending was satisfying and sad, it had two great lessons for women, in my opinion, never destroy the life of any woman and don't be the third person in a relationship, because whatever you do, it will come back to you one day, your karma. It punishes you, secondly, you can't trust the love and sweet words, people change, first love yourself and rely on yourself.👍👍
ML deserves an acting award. Screenplay and director needs to be recognized for a well executed drama. It was well cast with notable acting from everyone. This a story with a moral lesson. One can't saddle 2 horses or have both feet in 2 different boats without feeling the repercussions. Sincerity can't be divided at a whim. Highly recommended! Just make sure to have a box of tissue to soak up your tears.
To be honest i never like commenting but for this drama i felt like i needed to, Even the man betray you and then but he is much different than most of them i get it a cheater is always a cheater but he waited to see this wife alive again this truly broke my heart and made me cry so hard
As many of you commented, I cried as well. The acting was so good that I could feel their pain. FL for being betrayed so tremendously; ML for realising his own stupidity too late; the FLs friend for losing her friend because of an idiot husband, and may I say, I'm so happy to see her in a adult role, and for not being the villain as usual.
All the actors did their job so well that I even cried for Zhao Zhendong (ML) for his portrayal of the cheating husband. Kudos to the entire cast and crew.

In my 10 years of career, I've seen a lot of clients going through marital promblems or problems related to domestic violence. Even the ones I consider as 'scum on earth' were there with thier spouse during bad times like funerals. For example, there was a violent husband who beat his wife black and blue was nice to his wife during her dad's funeral. When asked during a session about it, he said "I know you really think of me as a bastard, but even I was raised by a mom and dad".
I chose to share this story because I couldn't understand what kind of a beast this husband is. AND why do script writers chose to portray bad husbands as the most evil on earth? I mean, him simply cheating would have been enough for the story to progress.
So that the viewers will never sympathize with him.
And I'm glad the writers gave the injured wife the justice she deserves by making her husband regret his sins for a lifetime without the possibility of reconciliation. Hard for him to see her living her new life to the fullest, harder for him to see that he no longer has a place for him in her heart. Justice, I say!

I cried for the FL and her mom. Tried not to but cried for the ML at the end . His heartbreaking tears were heart-wrenching. Yes, he made a terrible mistake but he regretted it deeply . The mistress was played by one of my favorite actresses. She has presence and is believable. The actors were top notch. Best friend is usually bad girl, I like her much better as loyal best friend. FL was beautiful in an understated way.
All mistresses think the cheating husband loves them in these dramas and cheating is not a mistake. It's a choice and it doesn't make sense to have the same mistake repeatedly. He was just selfish and she was a bi*ch for how many times she would taunt the wife to her face and in text messages. All she wanted was that man's money and power, and she proved that with the phone call in his wife's bed. If he wasn't rich, she wouldn't have given him a second thought. She loved that game, him doing all these things for her behind his wife's back and his friends knowing as well. Made the wife a laughing joke.
yes, ML's despair also touched me, he absolutely conveyed it very well, I even thought it was a bit too much, but empathizing with the story where ML chased FL in high school probably quite a long time and got it, he got married and from the rest you can say that they had beautiful moments...

The first time I cried for this kind of series. The female lead did a great job to convey her feelings to the watchers. Her eyes says it all even though she’s not much speaking with her husband. Every time she’s in the scene, I cried for her. It’s just too painful to see her disappointment every time they’re with each other. The last scene is my favorite part, she’s still young and pretty. While the male lead is already old and wishing her best for her new life. 😢 Can’t they just rewind time????? before the ML cheats????????? 😭😭😭😭😭 this is soooo sad
I watched bcuz i wanted to see the elaborate crying scene. It was, but im not convinced he truly loved her. This man doesn't know what love is because you don't deliberately hurt someone you love. Men with power feel they are "entitled " to have whatever they want. Have their cake and eat it too. When he got caught he blamed the woman he disregarded his wife for (so many times) not accepting the responsibility that HE was responsible for destroying his marriage. Always easier to blame someone else. Im dissapointed that the wife kept her emotions to herself. There were so many, "oh, hell no" moments. She's intelligent and had financial resources. If she was determined to take part of this experiment so be it. Bfore she exited she should have taken 1/2 of everything and donated to a cause. This way she would have left her footprint in the timeline she was in. She let him off WAYYYY to easy.

I am watching this for the second time. Very beautiful portrayal of the hideous reality of what appears to be a happy & loving couple.
The heat 😡 begins early. 3:04 he clearly states his intention. No marriage. Just something along the line of enjoying "the moment together" sealed with a 💍& 💋 in a club or bar somewhere witnessed by the wife who was invited by the 🍵to watch the event. So now who are we going to blame? The husband? The🍵tea? Or the husband's friends who encourage him to have extra marital affairs? Me? Of course I dislike the 🍵but I dislike the husband too, a thousandfold more than I dislike the 🍵but I do love the story. Wait? Who am I blaming here? 🤔

What an amazing story, I gotta confess that it hurts me the way she practically “disappeared” but she did the correct thing, being unfaithful is unforgivable and more if that person used to be the one that saved you in the worst moments, he deserves the suffering because he betrayed her in the worst way 🙂
Love the story. FL is fantastic here. I even felt bad for her friend who sort of lost her. And also for the mistress. ML was full-blown scum - gave a ring and 'I love you' to the mistress, building up her hopes.
The lead actress portrayed her role beautifully - the way she didn't fight with her hubby the way her parents did. She didn't have any hopes left there to fight for. She sort of even punished herself for forgetting the lesson she learnt fr her parents' marriage.
The lead actor also did fantastic job of making me hate him.
The production quality of this drama is excellent. Thank you to all involved in its making. I thoroughly enjoyed it - inspite of it not being a 'love story'. Keep up the good work 🥰🥰🥰
