Thanks a million! A half hour ago I got a call from my wife that her Kia EV 6 Wind would not unlock with either the fob or the app! I looked at four web sites where the consensus was to buy a new battery for the fob, but that still left her stranded or calling roadside assistance for a new car. We are still learning about the EV and your video showed us something new: the hidden key! She got into the car and is on the way home!

Thank you. I have a 2020 optima and I had no idea there was a slot under the door handle to remove the cap or that there was a key to put in to unlock 🤦🏻♀️. I’m on vacation and the car just informed me this evening my battery is low. My question is how long do you think I have before it completely goes dead? And does the Just pop back on the door handle?
They battery in the fob is to boost the signal from the key so the car can “hear it”. No battery, no boost. But if you touch the key to the start button no boost need needed. Like the difference between someone saying “Hey!” across the room vs someone tapping you on the shoulder; Key to start button is a tap.

it sounds like the ignition cyclinder may have been changed following the theft and they did not re-key the door locks to match. An automotive locksmith or dealership should be able to resolve that issue
Even if the battery is dead in the flip key you would still be able to start the vehicle as normal - the remote portion of the flip key just wouldn't work.

It's hard to say how much longer the battery may last. Yes just pop the cap back on - start the top of the cap on first

How would you start the car if you have to foldable key

So if you have them flip up key I guess you just start it with the key to make the alarm stop??? You don't explain that?

In my case I lost the key fob so I had to get my Kia towed.
What if I don’t have PUSH START button?
then I believe you would just use the key that flips out of the fob to open the door and just start it normally
