Pokemon basically are mathematical monstrosities with four distinct parts: Base stats, movepools, typings, and (beginning in gen 3) abilities. Some pokemon are blessed with all four of these things being incredible (Zacian-Crowned comes to mind) and are obviously insane as a result. Most pokemon, though, are strong on some of these categories and weak in others, which is fantastic, it just means each pokemon has its own strengths and weaknesses. Bad base stats are manageable if you have a great ability, great movepool, and/or a great typing. Great base stats are incredible, but can't always carry a bad typing and movepool. They're just part of a whole, which is part of what makes pokemon such an interesting game! :)
And then there's Regigigas and Slaking, two Pokemon so held back by their Abilities that removing them is not only a good thing, but makes them absolute terrors.
I know Azumarill probably doesn't count because it has a base stat total of 420, but it stands out from the others in the video in that it's a sweeper rather than a support. Huge Power doubling its total physical attack stat, belly drum to instantly get max attack buffs, priority aqua jet, and its amazing water/fairy typing can be very lethal.
You're watching a Pokemon video it comes in the territory. Even if it was a person there, remember that Arceus exist, this is a perfectly regular canon occurrence, move on
Nieche scout with switching, swapping with your other pokemon on the field. Or just use follow me. Shedinja is my favourite. I like immunities, bug pokemon(i always use one in gen 3 and the remackes). And much later i became a ghost pokemon fenatic.
In generations 1-6, Dugtrio has a bst of 405. Notable because of arena trap being banned in every generation since 4 now Parasect had a niche in VGC (it wasn’t a good niche but it hard punished Kyogre locked into a water move) Shedinja is funny in VGC with ally switch and wonder guard, and also hilariously walls Kyogre and other very threatening Ubers
That's because its Wonder Guard ability helps it blank teams without a Ghost, Dark, Rock, Fire or Flying move. Granted, Heat Wave and Hurricane are fairly common, but being immune to damage from EVERY OTHER TYPE is still a great boon. Entry hazards are also pretty much non-existent in VGC - the only worthwhile Spikes setter is Hisuian Samurott, since it sets up Spikes while ALSO dealing damage with Ceaseless Edge.
@@JanusHoWI know about its ability, and why it can't make it in singles. I think it is a niche but good pick in VGC if it can check some of metagame's key threats or assist dealing with popular team comps.
i know that its stats are too high for this list but both pelliper and torkoal went from zu tier shitmons to ou staples in one generation just because they got a weather changing ability in gen 7 (too bad gigalith who also got a weather ability in gen 7 still is a zu shitmon)
Are those the base stats of basculin, urshifu and tangrowth?
Dang, ur fast
You earned yourself a pinned comment 📍

The Power Spot in question:
😬
sableye is the most iconic shenanigans causer. he’s simply just a lil gremlin causing mayhem, what’s not to love?
You might say it's a real Prankster.
It's surprising the strategies it... ensabled!
Pachirisu has a BST of 405, and is iconic for that one doubles championship a while back.
pachirisu shortly succumbed to Draco meteors injuries after sejun won worlds, causing it to never be used again😞
And it's stat spread isn't like minmaxed either that thing has the stats of a middle evo
But the pokemon available for that one was very limited.
I for one welcome our Clef overlords

Poor Bibarel... a mere 5 stat points TOO HIGH to make the list. And Bidoof is just a pre-evolution copy which kind of disqualifies him too...
I mean bibarel was unironically in ubers. Moody too stronk.
So stronk that even BIDOOF became overpowered in gen 5...@@Guy-McPerson
Every Pokémon with Prankster have seen some usage in VGC (even Liepard or Riolu)

Shedinja is worth mentioning IMO

I was thinking masquerain for intimidate + webs usage in ubers at points, but its bst is 414

The last thing I want in my comment section is these nasty comments. But as it turns out, that just might be what I gët
Clefable is proof that base stats aren’t everything.
Shedinja has had good results in VGC despite its awful stats.
