    It's so tricky to get the timing of the pick down on this song especially the way the pick hits the subsequent notes when the string is still vibrating at peak frequency from the previous pick. It's like that pick just wants to bounce off the string without making proper contact. Learning to coordinate the pick timing on the string instead of fighting the string was definitely the most challenging part for me.

I got a concussion in November and lost so much of my memory like basic chords, bar chords, scales, progressions and my Wife's birthday!!! yes it's that bad! it's hard for me to understand why I have to start over learning how to play guitar AGAIN but watching videos like these makes it so much easier to learn again in the second half of the video it's hard to see where his fingers are they're kinda all over and it's unclear what frets and strings to use when I see his hand across the neck, again I have to relearn how to play and it gets confusing But I thank you for your time and effort for showing us how to play some Awesome music I'm Gerald and I'm using my Wife's cel

      I feel for ya, man. That must have been an extremely serious incident you were involved in to have been injured with a concussion that bad. Several years ago, I merely fractured my left hand in a bad fall. Due to the location of the fracture, over the years since, arthritis has made that hand nearly useless when trying to manipulate every finger on it. I truly do wish you luck with the recovery process you're going through. I can only imagine the frustration you're dealing with regarding your situation. I do wish you all the luck in the world to be able to get back all that you lost. You take care, Sir.

      it is easier if you have very little gain on your setup, but when you have a lot of gain it sounds fine by just pressing on the strings, making it easier to play with hammer ons and pull offs for most people.

    • @mwilson14

      Work on easier songs to play which are chord / rhythm based (think Nirvana and other grunge bands from the 90's, or early rock infamously known for G, C, D chord transitions ). You'll get faster and faster being able to transition between chords. It's difficult at first which can be discouraging, but you'll get it. Rhythm guitar will teach you a lot of the fundamentals and train your fingers to rapidly adjust to different positions. It's all about muscle memory.
      I have problems with fine motor control in my hands as I'm getting older and may have young onset Parkinson's Disease. I just got back into playing guitar and redeveloping my muscle memory to play good again has been a challenge, but it's helping me use my hands better all around.

      YO! Listen, ive been playing a little over a year and a half and I can nail this. If you put in the practice, you can do this. Hell four months ago I couldn’t play a barre chord. Now I know half of Eruption! You got this! I usually practice around 1 or 5 hours a day!

    For myself, it seems that I can play this much, much faster if I observe these five things: 1) Hold the pick loosely. Don't choke up on it. 2) Rest the butt of my hand on the bridge. 3) Watch the pick-tip action, not the fretting hand, trying to minimize the arc of the pick-tip as it strums the string. 4) Hold the pick in such a way that the left side of my index finger can nudge against pick on the upstroke. Practice playing only the fretted side of the riff, playing it as fast as I can. 5) Playing the open side of the riff, strumming the string as fast and evenly as I can. This has seemed to really increase my speed and control.

    Can you write amplifier settings ?

    • @GlockGrippa
      @GlockGrippa 9 років тому

      Depends what controls you have on your amp and your guitar. What make and model is your guitar and amp? As a general setting you want a smidge over half way of gain, three quarters of treble, between a quarter and a half of bass and half presence or contour. Three quarters of reverb

      You get a hammer and you put it on the fretboard. Jk, you just press your finger fairly hard on the frett board for a nice sound instead on using the pick. Look it up
