    How did you change the sprocket on the makita?!!!

    • @badasswood
      @badasswood  3 роки тому

      Its explained in other videos,its not easy, its a drum sprocket, on floating clutch spring washers...

    Cool carving I like all the detail .

    My mind is blown! You get more detail w/ a chainsaw than I'm getting w/ a dremel trying to make a chess set.

      Lol... thanks, it's all in practice...I think of the art side of carving more like a martial art, than a creative art, it's all in the moves , efficiency, and purpose with direction.

    Inspiring. I'm staying at my off grid cabin in Alaska, I'm going to try it out.

    Where did you get the 1/4inch sprocket for your makita saw

    • @badasswood
      @badasswood  5 років тому +1

      Made it from parts, and frustration. Used a rim sprocket,on a turned down Makita hubb, the spring clutch preasure plates on the Makita hubb are what holds the sprocket in place,difficult part is turning down the o.s. spline for the 3/8 pitch to accommodate the rim sprock and stay centered. Then putting the preasure plates back together is nothing short of a wrestling match with a pissed off squirrel😂🤣🤣 but it can be done, and well worth it if you succeed😁

    awesome video. how often do you go through chains making a piece? looks like using it to grind would wear it down. just wondering

    • @badasswood
      @badasswood  4 роки тому +1

      Not sure what you mean by grind,. no, they don't Dull quickly, because the saw oils well, and I use wood that goes through a process to have clean wood.

      Good question though... the side ways cut is a very regularly used technique in chainsaw carving, its easy to ruin your bar tip by going too fast, or pushing in too far...I have videos on that subject on its own...

    Sorry about the crappy, loud music, I'm not much good with technical stuff, or editing ,the editor I use only allows use of so many times,and once edited and published, it's all in one format, and very difficult to change. I'm trying to use the UA-cam studio app to change it, but that's a very limited approach. UA-cam won't let me down load my own video,so that I can re edit it properly.

    music is way too loud! I'd rather hear your comments better.

    • @badasswood
      @badasswood  4 роки тому +1

      Yep,it doesn't do what I ask it to do in the editor, lotta stumbling blocks in learning how it translates across, lotta good videos ruined by power directors provided music,I've stopped using their music altogether. It comes out nothing like it shows pre publish.

    Music is terrible, had to stop watching

    • @badasswood
      @badasswood  4 роки тому

      Sorry about that, editor volume control, and timing doesn't keep true through publishing. Sadly I am forced to stop using any music altogether,because of so many good videos ruined by the provided music, and lack of sync with what I'm seeing in the editor dashboard. Sorry about that.
