Yes, he does that as part of his character. He made the decision to not smile, and appear socially awkward.
Ramis did it on purpose. Egon is looking at his marker for the commercial, not Ramis for the actual take.
Harold reminds me of one of those toys of a bird that keeps bowing up and down to take a drink of water.
Dan Akroyd could sell anything even the bass master.😂

Ayoooo on good Dan was getting fucking pissed lolol it got to the point where he couldn't say his line..when he was doing the...Our Courteous..n then paused for a sec,then had to say it again having to keep and hold his composure lol and the part where he was saying.Our courteous and sufficient staff is on call 24 hrs a day..the guy jus came out of nowhere n Dan's face was pretty pissed he did DAT lolol and the part where he was saying it he looked back at one of the camera guys pointing back like he was saying like come on guy/or Aww this fucking guy seriously lolol overall Dan really wanted to pop a few guys while shooting at that time lolol
They had copyright issues that hadn’t been ironed out with the 70s show ghostbusters. So they had to film it with the alternates in case but they genuinely considered ghoststoppers and ghostblasters at one point.
wow, "... in the night" sounds so awkward compared to "...in the MIDDLE OF THE night." glad they went with "middle of the"
end of the video is apparent proof that harold ramis/egon is not very good at smiling on command. however i still love him

Not sure Id call this a Gag Reel. More like professional actors doing their job reel. Super cool to watch though.
Yeah, this is where they did every take about 8 times. Trying different ways to say each line. Bill Murray said it was so exhausting to say the same thing again and again.
Aye whenever I watch this I be watching Egon's facial expressions.thinking maybe Bill's breath was stinking a little bit😅😅😅😅
This is more “Alternative takes” reel not “Gag” reel. A gag reel would be more along the lines of idk; Ernie or Dan mispronouncing a line during the judgement day talk OR the props break and/or malfunction OR anyone missing a cue OR literally anything where things go hilarious wrong.
Ghost stoppers, busters and blasters...dam, they not have idea what name put in the movie
They didn't know they'd have the rights to use Busters yet so they needed the options for the edit.
There was always the dispute with The Ghost Busters which, fortunately, got solved during production. I think they agreed to let them use the name if Filmation could do the 80s cartoon with the monkey and all. (Which necessitated for the GB's own to be called The Real Ghostbusters)

I think it works better without her; however, I like the fact that they considered it.

It's just exhausting being a filmmaker and having to hear or say the same lines over and over again until the take is perfect...
As an actor, it can also be pretty exhausting to be SAYING the same line over and over again, making marks, always stopping and starting over, waiting between takes, etc. Takes a lot of patience and professionalism, as well as skill not to lose character. Occasionally, the frustration and exhaustion have actually HELPED actors get to where they needed to be or actually led them to do stuff on impulse that ended up making it into the film. (The shooting of the first The Last of Us game keeps popping into my mind, with Troy Baker being SO sick of doing Sarah's death over and over and getting overly emotional each time...that he did it extremely low-key and just NAILED it)

These aren't bloopers (though there is a couple of bits where Aykroyd stumbles over his lines), it's just raw footage. Still interesting to see though, it's like watching them in real life in 1984.
