Weirdly my dad had this album thanks Jim what a lovely surprise to hear it again after all these years . He’s now 87 and I asked him about it .. seems a friend of his had it and when we visited I was so taken by it and listened to it all weekend so he gave it to my dad for me ..I’ve zero recollection of this
Brilliant! Thanks Jim! He was one in my A Level Economics teachers lists. Need to listen to more, more would be interesting! I heard Jeff Wayne and Sky in there too. 👍
Gordon Giltraps 1978 LP Fear Of The Dark is the one you really need to listen to it's his best recording. Saw him live at the Poole Arts Centre in the late 70s, great concert. Nice video. Cheers.
An album that didn't fit the musical landscape in 1977 but features some excellent musicians, Gordon's guitar work is a given but great keyboards and Simon Phillip's drums have always stood out for me.
Hi Jim! Yes this music certainly makes me think of Sky. Talking of theme tunes, , interesting that the BBC brought back "King Arthur" from Rick Wakeman's "Myths and Legends" for "Election NIght Special".
Watching this video jogged a long forgotten memory of going to see him sometime in the mid 70's. To be honest I can't remember a thing about it (not because of excess alcohol either😂) Nothing offensive about this album, it's just very bland, it reminds me of Sky as well
Better than side 1 possibly because of the familiarity of Heartsong but parshakamarsh has it right - nothing offensive but blandness is its biggest failing.

I will check it out… I have it already so need to schedule it in!
I like his Peacock Party album. Instrumental, accoustic at lots of fun Music
part 2 was as good as part 1, you put this CD in your player and just listen ... there's no need to skip or stop 👍

Gordon and Rick recorded an album together. In fact Gordon also recorded with Oliver Wakeman. He has a huge back catalogue that’s worth exploring.
@@michaelcapewell4811 indeed! I mentioned on Side 1 that Gor5don and Rick recorded the album "Brush and Stone" together in 2010
