@@contractorvegas5384 Not a chance. The 737 is the most desired airplane being produced today. The development of the A-380 was hugely short-sighted. The airline industry has a very slim profit margin and the cost of fuel is the issue all airlines are concerned with. The 737 is here to stay and the A-380 will be a failed memory soon. While the 747 will also endure, as it has for 50 years. Meanwhile the big European nations are fighting Airbus to repay 1 billion Euros in loans made to Airbus to develop the A-380 which Airbus is refusing to pay back now that the A-380 has ceased to sell. Europe foolishly made the A-380's competition with Boeing a matter of European pride from the beginning, which makes the A-380's faceplant that much more embarrassing for Europe.
As a retired airline pilot it makes me very sad that the 380 production is being stopped. I understand the costs.....but I find the 380 an amazing aircraft!
There will be opportunity. It’s my dream as well. The airlines that fly them currently are not retiring them anytime soon. Emirates is flying 108 and expecting 54, so hop on one! Not only is it the cost, isn’t the fact that airports have to retrofit their jet ways to accommodate another factor? The Boeing 787s fit anywhere without the adjustment.
yes it is an end of an era of 4 engine widebody in-production aircraft,... but the A380/A3XX/ANWB (AirbusNewWideBody) however you want to name it was on its first flight 10 years to late for the party... still a magnificent achievement from airbus bringing this aircraft into the skies...
ANA has great customer service. The best flight I have ever been on. Honolulu to Narita, then Manila. Was a wonderful experience. Love ANA'S flight crews and staff.

Yes that is true! Lots of people from Japan usually come here and you can see them in Waikiki or ko olina. Planes that come here usually use 777, 767, 787 but this plane makes other planes not needed.

I live in the glide path to Honolulu International Airport and have seen the ANA A380 probably a half dozen times or so coming in to land. It's really quite impressive to see.

Reminds me of a flight with an ANA 747 where my colleague and I were the only passengers on the entire aircraft from Copenhagen to Narita in the mid 90s. When arriving in the gate we thought the plane had booked all passengers and when we asked an ANA crew member, we were told there was nobody else going to board this giant 747. Extremely weird. In those days it seems there was some overcapacity. Nowadays I find myself in planes that seem almost always fully booked.
