People give Scott a ton of shit for his past, but I assure you, he is one of the most genuine people in music. When I met him in 2015 (before his breakdown), he was so invested in meeting the fans and making sure he left an impact on us. He was so nice, and he was so invested in our questions, our expressions of love for his craft, and really did surprise me. When I saw him live a year later, he recognized me and had his drummer toss me a stick. I cant thank this man enough for his music and his personal actions towards me as a fan, and for that, I will always be a fan, through think and thin. I really dont care if you like the band or not, but understand those of us who do like them, love them just as much as you love your favorite band, and we have our reasons why.

My Own Prison is a spectacular debut record. The whole album from start to finish is raw and has a very low budget/production quality to it which adds to it's greatness. A self financed independent album that went on to sell 10 million+ copies. Still listen to it 20 years later.
Creed is a great band and Scott Stapp is a good guy. He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder a few years back. They have kickass songs. Anyone who listens to My Sacrifice and says its a bad song doesn't know good music in my eyes

Idk, it's one my least fav creed songs. They started out with great singles on my own prison, but the ballads they kept putting out later kinda gave them a misconception or stigma and ppl didn't really know just how good their albums were. Like if you see a person hating on creed, you hear the same ole with arms wide upoaan, or will you take me higheer. Never singing torn, unforgiven, sister, ode, beautiful, say I ect. The radio pushing their ballads really kinda made ppl judge them before they actually gave all their songs a shot.
Kris Sanders true, they have great songs it’s just unfortunate that most of them are underrated over the not so good ones like “my sacrifice, higher, one last breath” all those basic songs that get slapped in front of you over the amazing underrated songs like “never die, faceless man, torn, weathered, bullets, who’s got my back and the list goes on.
And such ppl are the ones to whom Coldplay would be the greatest band

i cant imagine how it felt hearing my own prison on the radio...its one of the best rock riffs and melodies from that era...moody, philosophic music

One of the best albums from the 90's hand down!! You'll never find a more definitive 1st album for a diy. This band was blessed from the beginning..... There will be a 2nd coming of this band.... My favorite Creed song is Weathered. That track is so dope.

Not really a fan of creed, but calling them as "not good" is immature, if something is different than what you prefer, well it doesnt mean that its not good. Mark tremonti is a beast guitarist, heard him on alterbridge and some solo work. Creed is not my cup of tea, but yeah they dont suck like what people say.

Fantastic to hear the back story! I really would love a Creed reunion! 2012 was awhile back since they toured last! I think fan's would line up! Scott is on tour and doing the songs we love, his voice is awesome but I'd love to see them jam together again!
Scott Stapp is probably my favorite frontman love this guy he is very down to earth and I would have a soda with him cool dude through and through.

O my! I love Creed music!!!!!! It is almost spiritual. Went to a church once that played Can you take me higher. The preacher told everyone to listen. I sang right along with it! No one else sang. I know every word to every song!! Love them all!! Every video is intense!!! To bad they didn't make more good ones. Scott is living for the Lord now and has a beautiful wife. Hope all is well today with all the guys in the band.
This album came out when I was 11. I heard the song One first and loved it, loved the opening guitar riff and really started getting into guitar then. I can actually remember being in the alley behind my house in Baltimore city on my bike with my headphones and a pocket radio listening to WHFS when I first heard the song.

All I ever heard when Creed broke out was "Oh they're just ripping off Pearl Jam." "Stapp sounds like a watered down Eddie Vedder." I liked their stuff and I didn't care what anyone thought.

I bet you every young man of driving age sang along to “My Own Prison” at the top of their lungs when it came on their car radios. (Yes, I admit I did too. It was usually playing on X103 when I was driving home from the methadone clinic in downtown Indy).
Loved this album.
My Own Prison and Human Clay are great albums. Weathered and Full Circle for the most part are not that great. Creed is not that bad. I say listen to more than just the singles before you judge.

Austin Moser Yeah it stinks that the haters are missing out on the lesser known Creed songs such as Torn, illusion, are you ready, etc. Nickelback was a band I never really liked. I like a few songs by them but I am really not a fan of Chad Kroeger's voice. It's too bad that people are so quick to jumping onto the hate bandwagon when it comes to certain bands.

That's funny, cuz ppl put creed and nickelback under the worse bands ever list lol. I myself was always jamming to creed in 97. I was only 10 and prally only 10 year old with my own prison album. But I still luv me a old classic nickelback album. The state, curb, silverside up and even some picked out on their other albums. So, When ppl just use the creed and nickelback are worse all time bands, I know their just following what everyone else is saying. Fads aren't facts.

creed to me is a surprisingly unloved band i mean i have ALWAYS held them close to my heart mainly because the only thing i have left from my dead dad is a creed album and i mean they deg have talent to but i always loved them because of that
🥀Scott will take his self up higher everyday if he keeps on the best he can I was born into music by Dad yes it's hard work but you have to push new vids, v-logs, any promotions you can. The only problem is the internet is ppl would rather get free music, vids ect & that prevents the Artist from making profits in allot of ways. I like Creed. A lot of special stuff was happening in my life when their songs were played all over the radio. Had the cds. It brings me back to that time...which is all changed now. Not sure why they're the butt of so many jokes🤷🏻♀️

$5000 is expensive compared to Thurs debut album "Myths and battles from the paths beyond" (that did not amount to anything..) We payed like.. $1289 or something like that (and I was willing to baller out a LOT more, and NO let it be known that no one in the band was 100% satisfied with the album :P )

Bush and creed are the same, they had a couple of good songs and then a lot of generic "grunge" - hard rock albums that sound like warm beer
There is actually a huge difference between the two. When you gain your ear for music you'll hear it.

Creed growing up is what you'd hear at parties in party mixes.
Bush had waaaaay more than a few good songs. Every song off 16stone is good. 5 singles, 2 #1, Alien or Body could of also been a 6th single if they wanted. RS = 2 hit singles, 1 of which was #1, plus "mouth" and "cold contagious" Science of things is underrated as hell, so is golden state, their 4th record. The only Bush song I actually don't like off their first 3 albums is English sun.

Their videos were cheesy. Especially Higher with the iron/leather pants and levitating like some sort of messiah. They get too much hate and Scott seems to have become more humble. Give guy a chance.
