Chewy M&Ms Cookies! (Baking with Babies)

- Hey guys! Welcome to the first of my much-anticipated baking videos! I can't believe the last time I shot one of these, Emilia and Eduardo were probably around the same age as Alessia and Andrea! We had so much fun filming this - and this is actually an incredible recipe! You can switch up the M&M's colours seasonally like I do, or add whatever you like on top! Everyone loves when I bake these because they are the softest, chewy chocolate chip cookie and you can never stop at just one! Let me know if you try the recipe :) xoxo Anna
CHEWY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE RECIPE
Ingredients:
3 and 1/4 cups plain flour
1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt/sea salt
225g/1 cup butter, softened
1 and 1/2 cups light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup dark chocolate chips
Sharing bag of M&M's or any topping of your choice!
Method:
Preheat oven to 175 Celsius/350 Fahrenheit. Line 3 cookie sheets/baking trays with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, mix the dry ingredients. In a stand mixer, beat the butter and sugars until well-combined. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix. Slowly mix in the dry ingredients followed by the chocolate chips. Divide the dough into 30 balls and prepare onto the baking trays. Add M&M's to each of the balls of cookie dough. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, then leave to stand for 3 minutes before moving to a wire rack. Keep cookies in an airtight container and they should be good for about a week (not that they'll last that long!). Enjoy! :)

This really brings me back! I used to love watching the baking videos. There are so many iconic moments from them! Like Emilia in her witch costume and Emilia eating the jammy dodger dough! And the tennis ball rolling away, "come back ball-y!"

You know..I was initially going to comment saying something about how you parent. In my mind it was just a helpful tidbit. But I stopped myself. (Not as easy as you may think) lol. Because although, I would have been coming from a good place, why comment in a judgmental way? So I decided not too. Which I really wish more people would do. Really think before you press enter to send that comment. Instead, try to say something positive instead. Like for me Anna, I absolutely love how you include the kids in the kitchen. And how you teach them. I’ve watched you for years, and I can say undoubtedly, you are an AMAZING mother! You and Jonathan have done such a great job, raising those 4 beautiful babies of yours. And not only does it feel better for me to have said something positive, but hopefully someone else sees this and decides to do the same. 💕

I learnt a trick that if you put the cookie dough into balls and then put them in a container in the freezer, whenever you want a fresh hot cookie , you can take one (or more) of the cookie balls out of the freezer, bake them for 15 minutes and eat them there and then - a great quick snack too :)

When I was little now 17, my mum would grab a mug and we were allowed to crack an egg. Then if the shell fell it didn’t matter as you can take out before goes into all the other ingredients. Then got told to wash our hands straight away afterwards. Love these bake with babies videos. Xx
