I recommend sticking with the KJV . Listening to it by audio for awhile helped me understand it better, it flowed better when I heard someone else read it. On UA-cam they have each book and it’s kinda acted out….very helpful ❤

I use the New King James Version, it's alot easier to understand and it's not watered down like more recent translations
The NKJV is really very good I use that regularly as well as the NIV.
