The Chaos Walking trilogy is such a great read. It’s probably best that you don’t know much about it going in because it is so surprising and full of twists!

The His Dark Materials Trilogy is amazing!! I read it as a kid and adored it... then read it ten years later and loved it even more. It’s the type of book that makes you think about the world in a different way as well as being a great story.

Mia Dalton it's kind of a disservice to the books that they're rated as kids book since so many people belittle them 😥 honestly, i've read them like three times and every time i understand something more!

I think Emily, over on Books with Emily fox, also has the same Philip Pullman book. She is inviting anyone who wants to, to read the series along with her. Maybe you could hit her up on twitter and see when she is doing that. If you are interested :)
For me I definitely want to read Raven Boys. I read the first book. By I want to finish the series, since the books are becoming a tv show on syfy. Also The lies of Locke Lamore.

Lia Nicole It's worth it to stick the transition out, the pacing remains brisk from the first introduction of conflict. You truly feel the anticpation and fear alongside the characters and Todd is such a sympathetic and heartbreaking character. 170 pages to go and it has remained just incredible.

I need to read The Name of the Wind so badly, it sounds like the most epic fantasy series!

    • @berserker8884
      @berserker8884 6 років тому +1

Books Michelle it is not really the most epic. However it is in my opinion by FARRR the most beautiful series; the prose is SO BEAUTIFUL, the characters are very interesting, it also has in my opinion the best world building, it is deeply built through stories, myths and songs, which is absolutely sth I prefer. Also the magic system is imo the most interesting one and is built pretty rigorously as well. Have fun reading kingkiller :)

You cant choose how the dream will end. But you can choose how you design your dream. How the houses look like, how the people look like, ... it's like watching a movie but you choose the decor and who playes the rolls. Also love your lipstick!

Oh, The Name of the Wind. It's my favorite book ever, you're gonna love it. Honestly, it will set the bar a lot higher for other fantasy books you read. I've also read The Knife of Never Letting Go trilogy and I love it, but it's not for everyone. I've seen mixed reviews about it, so we'll have to see how it goes for you.
It's not on your list, but have you read Robin Hobb? Her first trilogy is not the best (even though it's pretty good), but The Liveship Traders trilogy, oh my god, it's SO GOOD.

On that list I definitely recommend The northern lights trilogy - It's been years since I read it but I think you'll really enjoy it! I'm biased towards the fantasy series because I prefer them. I didn't enjoy Chaos walking series nearly as much - I stopped after book two. I also plan on reading the name of the wind so I'm really looking forward to hear what you think of it! Graceling is so good! I would advise reading it in the order Graceling, Fire, Bitterblue because graceling is the base novel, Fire is different characters but related to Bitterblue, which is a several years later sequel directly to Graceling. When my mom read them she read Bitterblue before Fire, and told me she wished she’d done it the other way around. I hope you enjoy them!!

I got so bad with series that I try to just wait and read them all in the same year or two so I don't have to re-read all the time. Sounds like a good list! I don't have enough time in a day to list mine but a lot from your list.

I LOVED Graceling! and Fire too. I got stuck with Bitterblue but I wanna give it another shot soon :D I actually watched all of your videos trying to see if you had read it and what your opinion was. Glad to see you're going to get into it now :)
I love the book so much cuz it's the one that got me into reading after being fed up with having to read books for book reports that I didn't care about. This book was the first book I really read with pleasure. I think you're going to enjoy it :D

I ALSO want to read the Every Heart a Doorway and The Name of the Wind series! they both sound so amazing and everyone who has read them always raves about them! I'm picking up Renegade by marissa meyer this month and if I enjoy that book, since I also loved Heartless, I want to give Cinder a try. I've picked it up once before but put it down because I wasn't in the mood at the time but I think i might be a MM fan lol

His Dark Materials is my favorite series ever. I read it in French (my native language) when I was eleven and I thought it was wonderful. I'm re-reading it, in English this time, and I love it even more. There are so many things in this series that you don't really get when you're "too" young, and I really appreciate this kind of books. I hope you'll enjoy your reading ! :)

The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet was one of my favourite books from last year- so amazing! And The Queen of the Tearling trilogy is fantastic as well. I really want to try and get through the Game of Thrones series this year, I read the first one a couple of years ago but never continued on :/

When I saw this I was genuinely hoping to see a Patrick Ness series but wasn't expecting it! I got the Knife Of Never Letting Go for Christmas so I'm hoping it's good!

Three Dark Crowns is awesome. It's not based on King Lear, BUT there is a book coming out in March called The Queens of Innis Lear that IS loosely based off of King Lear. It sounds to me like King Lear meets Three Dark Crowns, so I'm really excited to read it.

I picked up ‘the long way’ on a whim when it first came out and am I glad I did. It’s gorgeous and emotional. It’s not full of action (just enough to add tension etc) but it works wonderfully at exploring society, race, sexuality, and gender in the space ship setting. Honestly, it gave me such warm fuzzies inside when I read it.

I also really want to read The Name of the Wind, Chaos Walking, His Dark Materials and The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet.
I LOVED the Themis Files series (Sleeping Giants and Waking Gods). It is easily one of the best sci-fi series I've ever read and I cannot wait for the third book to come out this year! I remember reading Graceling years ago and absolutely loving it. I remember thinking how cool the world and the storytelling was, although I cannot for the life of me remember what the actual plot was at this point! XD
