I’d say that Arkham City has the best storyline and handle over its rogues gallery of villains out of all of the Arkham games. However, Arkham Knight truly did succeed in making you feel like you were the Dark Knight.

Not only does it look fast, fluid and (most importantly) fun, but Spidey isn't spouting the same four to five excruciatingly horrible lines that are so poorly delivered I want to garrote him with his own webs, followed by the VA and then myself. I mean, every night I close my eyes and I just flashback to The Amazing Spider-Man 2... So thanks Insomniac, I can finally begin to recover.
That drove me fucking crazy; I played that game for like three hours and I ended up returning it because I couldn't stand to listen to him repeating the same bullshit lines every ten fucking seconds.

Um my dude that’s a huge thing. Back in my kiddo days playing something like spiderman 2 was far from being as immersive as this. It’s the small things that count, like the little rooms behind the apartment windows that would not at all be possible back in the day. It’s something I really noticed

Game looks fantastic. Only tiny tiny complaint is I don’t really get why they adds that massive dust cloud effect for him hopping off something, but that’s an incredibly minor gripe.

That's an upgrade in the game to make you fly faster when you do that, which adds the giant dust cloud

I definitely appreciate that you can fill up the Focus bar by swinging around and doing stunts. It brings back the Spider-Reflexes thing from Spider-Man 2, rewarding you for not just fighting smoothly but swinging smoothly.
The traversal just makes me smile, I can't wait!

Spider-Man will continue holding the line until you release R2 correct? I hope he doesn't let go automatically at any point. You should be able to hang on and then the swinging should slow down back and forth until you're just hanging sort of still. That's realistic and you could do it in Spidey 2.
Yeah pretty sure bc in other vids when ppl play the tutorial it says "release r2 to let go" or something which is awesome imo
the devs have talked about how momentum changes depending on when you release the web, so I believe it’s all manually done, yes
To answer your question. No it automatically releases the web. I wanted control of holding onto the web or holding 2 webs at a time or being able to slingshot myself but those were the details you don't get.Honestly bro I still think it's hard for game developers to beat the spiderman 2 gameplay. Graphics and gameplay is still great but hopefully they do add some of those things
American Muscle 345 I have a few hours into this game now. And I'm impressed. Its the best Spidey game I've ever seen. Not even close. And my concern here hasn't been an issue. Spidey holds the line longer in some situations and shorter in others and it feels completely natural when he releases after a certain point. So its all good. Also I just unlocked the charged jumping skill and it works great! Really fun. You don't have the control over how much power you jump with as in spidey 2', BUT its better than spidey 2's at what it does do. And all the other stuff you can do. ESPECIALLY the web zipping and all the zip points that there are. There is no comparison. This is the best by far.
I completed the game yesterday, and unless you are holding forward on the left stick, as long as you hold r2 Spidey doesn’t release the web

For one love whoever blurred out, what I'm guessing what Spidey commenting on something that refered to something in game. Aka a spoiler. Love ya. Secondly, I'm loving the interface, the health not being shown while not in combat is really nice, only having the minimap A++ to that. Also, the web swinging honestly looks orgasmic and my body is ready.
Insomniac should handle a Prototype sequel or reboot.

People complaining about the smoke cloud which you literally see for less than a second, is only a upgrade and on a perfect jump.
it's odd and out of place, never seen that in a movie, now I would add that maybe from landing from a huge height, but not taking off. They should have done it like in Prototype, with the little music charge up sound, the dust cloud is over the top. I design indie games and you're always tweaking and removing gratuitous stuff like that.
