As much as I enjoy the de-Turboing the lineup for the III generation, I still miss the first gen Turbo/GTS sound of Macan... was something else and I hope we get over soon the piano black touch interior as soon as possible... that trend has to fade at some point.
Like the review, especially on roads I know. I am hoping to pick my S up next week, it's currently in RI. PASM w/ air, Sport Chrono and Torque Vectoring. I like the sound as well. Glad I did not get the sport tail pipe option. Hoping it has more interior space than my Q3. The SQ5 just didn't cut it and is had a longer wait time.
Happy to hear that! Congrats on your new S. Agreed on the Sport Exhaust. The Stock Engine + Exhaust Note is great as is. These comparisons about Volkswagen 'Audifiying' everything ( RSQ8 = Urus, SQ5 = Macan, etc) is tangential. They are not the same vehicles in any imagination of the driving experience.
Nice video but could you record in a standard landscape?Everything looks kind of warped with the way you currently record. Standard landscape recording would look so much better. Keep up the good work, I hope to see more content in the future.
I have bought Macan T and this car is amazing. Only drowback is backseat space. I would love to buy Macan S. But in country where I live there is additional tax of 18.5% for vechicles with engine displacement higher than 2 literes.
Congratulations on your new Macan T! It's great to hear that you're enjoying the car. Backseat space can be a concern for some, but overall it sounds like a fantastic purchase.
Still thinking about one but at $80k + from what I've specked seems like Porsche cut corners on the interior. I did see a couple Macan "S" in the mid to high $90k range...wonder what that does to the interior if anything? thanks for the review.
Haha, it seems like Porsche might have missed a few luxury details in the interior. Maybe they were too busy focusing on the speed and performance! But hey, it's all about personal preference and what you value in a car.
You will hardly get to use that extra power of the S in normal driving. Get a nicely spec'd pre-owned 2018 base or above model (in 2023) for and you'll be thrilled to have the Porsche PDK (what separates Porsche from other cars) for about $35k. That model car will last ten years at least
there's no PDK in there, it's an obsolete Audi DL501 from the 2009 Q5, which the Macan is almost identical to. The newest SQ5 has abandoned that transmission for a much better 8 speed, something the Macan is unable to do due to it being still based on the last generation Q5.
Nice review! The S has become a very attractive do-it-all fun to drive car. Also the engine sounds very nice. Is this model equipped with the sports exhaust? Or is this the „standard“ model S exhaust?
@@brianb5723 There’s plenty not to like. Why do I want something softer than leather y to hats going to break down quicker? Don’t get it dirty and you won’t have to clean it.
I drove the X3 M40i. It felt a bit stiffer AND top-heavy in sharp curves. Also, it felt "resistant" when hard braking. The X-3 is clearly roomier, though. The Macan felt more lively, more responsive and more fun. The car that truly competes with the Macan S/GTS is the X-4M. THAT is a monster, but it proved to be more of a track car, and the air suspension of the Macan proved to be the best for several reasons: body lean is reduced because the air suspension is reactive. The air suspension also soaks up bumps not so much as to "hide" them, but to diminish them making the ride far more comfortable, but not where you are isolated or that it appears numb. Another UA-cam channel, "Motormouth" preferred the Macan S versus the X3 40i. And, the Porsche, more opted out is more money. A fully loaded X-4M is about $95K, but the Porsche Macan S or GTS can easily reach 110-120K (if you order just about every option including the $5700 Burmeister audio system).
@ Thanka for the reply. I actually went with the X3 M40i and I like it in sport plus mode but not in comfort or eco. I’ve realized I’m 24 years old and this may be the only time in my life where I do not need a SUV. So I’m thinking about downsizing to the new M2 in the near future.
I drove a 2023 Porsche Macan S and wasn't very impressed. Good SUV, but not for this price tag. The park sensors glitched constantly, the infotainment was overly convulted, and many parts reminded me of the VW/Audi lineup (shifter, wipers, dash material, pedals, etc). The performance is solid and the PDK is definitely improved over the previous generations, and it was a good driving partner, but it definitely does not have such good pull at higher speeds as the X3 M40i. The X3 also is way more comfortable, refined, technological, and faster at triple speeds for a much better price tag. This car probably doesn't have half the features of the BMW. For this price, just go with the X3M and it will leave the 100K GTS behind in every category.

You are exactly right that sound was to die for. They don’t have that roar no more

It’s not more interior space but it is a much better ride.
loved this video! thank you for posting!! it helped alot
Thank you, comments like this are why i do this :)

Thanks for the tip, this is standard landscape. Appreciate the support!

Pretty Nice review! Thank you
Oh yeah! Thank you ❤️

if ur a good boy and drive the speed limit lol
Nice I just got one 4 weeks ago
Enjoy!!
Ridiculous comments about the "faux leather" in the interior. Its all real leather lmao. Same with the "plasticky" wood trim, ITS REAL WOOD!!!
ok
Yes, and the "fake aluminum polished plastic shifters"... It's real, solid, aluminum.
If the spare tire isn't inflated, does the car come with an inflator that plugs into a USB port or something?
It's inflated already
Is it a sport exhaust or the standard one?
Standard

Thank you! This does not have the sport exhaust option.
@@ShiftyStans The engine sound is awesome, so I won’t order the PSE option then.
@@thomasjanssen9124 Great call - I think the exhaust note sounds pretty good as is. The engine sound is great too. Enjoy your Macan!
If i heard it right, you said this macan has wood trims that look kinda fake. Is it really fake wood? 🤔
My point is that they save costs on the interior components of the Macan. It's not fake just not the highest quality.
@@ShiftyStans i see.. i just hate fake woods
Faux leather? Not sure on that one, but maybe if it was a lower trim level
Honestly for Porsche it shouldn't be on any trim levels
Softer than real leather, easier to clean, sustainable, whats not to like

Is there any turbo-lag?
Yes for sure, but less noticeable than some other cars in the same segment.
How much better does this car drive that an X3 M40i? Is it worth the extra money?
The X3 M40i drives better.

My SQ5 drive looks the same to me.
Macan S drives much better. Hard to tell from the video. You have to be behind the wheel to understand
@@brianschultz7320 I drove both. I actually prefer the SQ5 over the Macan S, but the X3 M40i is the best out of the three, easily.

U say nimble and quick to drive but it was overtaken by a normal merc. Not an amg.😅
ok
Inane commentary. "it doesn't give you too much here or there". WTH does that mean?
Urgh.
It means it doesn't give you too much here or there.
Maybe...take a course on how to shoot video.
Amazing advice! You must know a lot on shooting video from all the ones you've posted.
It doesn’t look good It’s definitely overpriced and looks like a Korean brand from the back
It looks exactly like a Porsche form the back.
The prices are completely inadequate.
What a dumb comment. Hyundai or Kia looks nothing like a Porsche either from the front or rear.
