Who’s going to watch a 7hr video again? If it’s as well done as your videos are, I will! Seriously, if anyone is serious about getting the most out of this beautiful creation from Hotstart this video is a must watch.
I avoid long streams like a plague. I sat through the whole thing. Testament to how valuable you and your peers are. Even my mid flight nap had me listening still. My first landing in this plane was over MLW and I managed 144fpm landing rate.
Thanks Aleksandar - yes I didn’t expect many people to watch the whole thing, but as it’s taking me so long to actually do proper tutorial videos I thought the stream with content chapters would do for the time being. Glad you’re having fun with the Challenger 650.
An Airbus simmer, for many years, looking to fly a business Jet. After all the research it was an easy choice to pick the 650. I still have not pushed the purchase button yet, but trying to get more knowledge and this channel has helped me more than any. Thanks
Well done and absolutely worth the time to view! Thanks to you and the others responsible for this magnificent machine! Looking forward to future tutorials.
Thanks David, sorry for the delay replying - will make sure your comments are passed on to the development team too. More videos hopefully coming soon.
Your videos are just brilliant. The technical insights, voice, and visual clarity, are helping me immensely to learn this aircraft's systems. I am new to all HotStart products so you can imagine I needed this as the base documentation for the CL650 is not so helpful. I recall one of your old videos flying DDEN's CL30 and it was also a pleasure to watch. Keep the videos coming!
I am not very keen on watching these lengthy videos but this I will, I am sure there are many things I can learn from you aside from the particular aircraft. Just preparing some snacks and corns and let the show begin. Excellent job by the way and thank you for taking your time on uploading this for us.
Yes I understand it's a long video. I didn't originally plan to upload it to UA-cam but I'm finding it hard to make the time for the shorter tutorial videos right now, so thought the long stream would fill the gap for now. I've put some chapter markers in there too so you can skip thought!
@@ReflectedRealitySimulations Dear, I just started to watch it and I am not going to skip any part of it. As said, I am sure you can teach me lots of things which I can later apply to real world flying as well.
Thanks. Yes the product is so full-featured that it would nearly need the full FCOM to detail all the features! The expanded checklists that are supplied should give you everything needed to get going though.
Loving your videos absolutely fantastic thanks for all your work. Having just purchased the Hot Start 650, where can I get a template for the X Touch Mini for this aircraft, any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks …
Hey, amazing live stream! I'm kinda late to the party but at 45:18 you mention the memory function for the MFD. I can't find any documentation on that anywhere, would you let me know how to set it up? I wish I could also manage to get a full screen map on there. Cheers :)
Sorry for the delay replying. The MEM 1, 2 and 3 buttons, set the display as you want it then press and hold the MEM button, it will then store that setup into the memory just like saving a radio station on a car radio. You can get a full screen map buy turning off the upper display section, typically where the checklist is - although you cannot ever turn off the EICAS display so only one of the two MFDs can be in full screen mode.
Hi Graham loving the challenger !! could you possibly tell me how I align the Artificial Horizon on the PFD mine seems to be indicating way below horizon but unlike the backup I can't seem to find a way to cage it .....Can't wait for the next challenger tutorial, Yours are by a country mile, the best
Thanks for the nice feedback, and sorry for the delay replying. The PFD will align automatically as it’s driven by the inertial reference units. There’s not way to cage it manually. If you can post a screenshot to the X-Pilot forum I could have a look at it and try and work out what’s happening.
Thank you for the very detailed and professional tutorial. Would it be possible to have a follow-up tutorial focused on some of the critical items in the ProLine FMS? The most recent software update allows the use of the FLEX functionality, for example. How does that work on the CL650? Cheers!
Yes man! As decent as the AFL one is, Hotatart would be next level (and it MUST be old avionics). HotJets we'll call it... CL650, TBM 900, KA350, and will even let the TS SR22 join the family.
I am pressing a yoke button assigned to pitch sync at around 1000 feet after taking off. I don’t see the SYNCH yellow indication. Nothing happens when I press the button. I tried mapping to a key board command but still no result. What can I be doing wrong ? Hope to get support on this thanks.
It sounds like the flight directors are still in Takeoff mode - you can’t use sync in that case. Engage HDG or NAV and then the pitch mode will change to PTCH - this will allow you to use the sync button - remember you need to press and hold sync.
Great tutorial, and yes some of us will watch more than once. Looking forward to your next post. On another note, how did you set up the memory keys? I can't find anything in the documentation provided with this aircraft.
Thanks for the nice feedback. To set the memory keys just set the MFD the way you want it, and press and hold the memory key until it saves. Like programming a radio station on an old car radio.
Thank you for a great video upload, I am certainly getting more proficient in using this add-on. More practice is making all these checks quicker. I just had one question but apologise if this has already been asked. How do you obtain the detailed map display on the ND which shows coastlines etc. I’ve looked and tried but cannot seem to find a was to select this option. Thanks once again as I’ve learnt a huge amount from watching your videos.
I did find out how to obtain the geo map so disregard my question. I would like to know though how you got the full vertical map feature if possible. Still really enjoying your extensive video and still learning from it in regard to operating this add-on. Great job!!!
Towards the end of the flight, the standby attitude indicator is showing a wrong indication. For example, at 6:09:00, it shows a noticeable bank to the right and about 10 degrees nose down when in fact the aircraft is at essentially zero bank and only about 2.5 degrees nose down. Did you discuss this on the stream (haven't watched all of it)? Is this a simulated failure or a bug?
I went off Leading Edge Simulations a number of years ago after the third or fourth time Cameron responded to an unsatisfied and belligerent customer by posting the customer's details on the X-Pilot forums. Is he still involved?
Thanks - it was a fun flight and actually went quicker than I thought it would. That stream started at 1400utc, at 0200utc the product was released, and I don't think any of the testers and developers slept until 1000utc the next day, and only for a few hours! Was an epic release ;-)

This man gets it!

Sorry for the delay replying to your other comments - I'm glad you made the choice to get the Challenger, it's an incredible aircraft.

Thanks for your time to make this video. I have learnt a lot and i keep dipping into it to learn even more about this fabulous aircraft.
Thanks John., glad it was helpful!

Thanks for the very nice feedback. Yes the DDen Challenger video was a long time ago now.
Thanks Graeme, awesome as usual! Wish I could afford it, maybe someday. Thanks for your brilliant explanations, they're worth more than gold.
You're welcome. Glad you like the videos.
Thank you for the Challenger videos!

Par excellence. This definitely take the place of the missing manual. Thanks!

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. The XMidiCtrl plugin includes a profile for the Challenger in the plugin download.

No problem - it's really a stopgap until I can find time to get the other shorter tutorial videos done.

I do want to do a full series of videos for the 650 - I’ve just been really busy recently.
Would love to have a hot start kingAir. Seems like a natural progression for the developers.
Yes, that would be nice to have.

On approach, you didn't change the altimeter setting at FL70 from standard to QNH, or was the QNH the same, or am I missing sth?
Excellent informative video
Glad you liked it!
03:23:10 - good point!
Thanks, yes the large Challenger cabin is a key selling point for the aircraft.
absolutely fascinating. Thanks!! (subscribed)
Thanks for the subscription Martin, glad you liked the live stream!

The stream was with a pre-release version of the software and this was a bug. It's since been resolved in the release version.
I went off Leading Edge Simulations a number of years ago after the third or fourth time Cameron responded to an unsatisfied and belligerent customer by posting the customer's details on the X-Pilot forums. Is he still involved?
Yes Cameron runs X-Aviation.
thank you
You're welcome!
I'm going to unlike this video just so I can like it a second time. Outstanding work!
Hehe, thanks Tim, glad you liked it!
Wonderful live. All we need to know to properly operate this piece of art
Thanks very much - it certainly is a work of art!
Very sorry I missed this, but I’ll be watching back now.
Why u sorry lmao
@@planesimple8619 coz I would like to have watched real time. Why bother posting dumb questions?
