Toyota levels of reliability are legendary (a legend is an embellished tale that mostly isn't true)... I love the e86, hope to own one someday. I do own an E89, which is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. N54 Manual, MHD 1+ at the moment.
One onlooker once remarked "Your car is a python!" I've named it that ever since. Thanks for the vid! I have the same Alpine White, in the Z4M. The bonnet (hood) and hips are fantastic. I love the door lines as well - the way they curve inwards and then twist towards the rear wheels. I've just had the hydraulic lifters adjusted and some radiator/coolant seals replaced as well (it's on 120 000km). The next model is refined and beautiful, but this original E86 is sexy.
@@DrewZ4 Mustangs are raw brute horsepower fast and fun BUT nimble and quick is more a fun car like driving a go cart ONLY thing I miss is even with traction control off my E86 won't let you spin the tires much it still seems to pull back on RPM
thank you for sharing your opinion of the car. I agree with most of your points. The standard m54 is definitely easier to deal with long-term, but it's very tame. The s54 has an 8K red line but it requires valve train adjustment every 30k miles. so I wouldn't use an m as a daily whereas the standard model is usable for that. then again it's not a big deal to get the service done. I've heard it's about $1,000. but in a daily commuter that's every 2.5 years. I just couldn't put up with an automatic in a car like that. The m coupe is similar to a Cayman from that era. I have an '06 CS and I don't think the Z4MC can keep up with it but I've always liked these cars. I have a 1998 Z3 2.8 5-speed and it is fun. I think you need to get a proper Z4MC with a manual.
Great video. I agree with all your thoughts and wish I had the sports seats. Something I love about my E86 that I don't see mentioned a lot. The turn signal lever is VERY satisfying! Its analogue and tactile. Maybe its the same on other BMWs but I really like it.
Best thing about the Z4 Coupe.. is the lack of need to modify it. Save your money towards replacing brittle plastics and crumbling rubber. Bone stock rules.
All German cars gaskets leak early because they are mandatory sourced from union owned Elring. Buy Victor Reinz or Felpro for replacement that last longer. Also, short frequent drives mean the car will sit and cook the gaskets for hours while not used after each drive.
How did you make your angel eyes white? I saw on the forums some people have replaced the bulb inside the carrier with an LED but apparently that throws a code. I would like to do it on my coupe as well.
Hello 😀 i'm french ! A question : what is the name of the store where you bought the license plate lights ? I don't find or when i find, it's not compatible ..... good english ??? 😅
Everyday people do not clean their cars pedantically. Drew is just like most of us, everyday people who enjoy nice and beautiful sports car. Reality is that most of our cars, believe it or not, get dirty.. It's not as if the car looked like a hoarders home.. Also are you fucking kidding me, coilovers on a Z4??? You shouldn't own a Z4 if you want coilovers on it, go and rice out a Honda Civic.
I love mine too!
I’ve got the sport, manual, all black. Best car I’ve ever bought.

AGREE this car is one of the finest cars ever made and it's so much more fun to drive than my last 4 GT Mustangs as well as Corvette
That's saying a lot 😮

Thank you thank you

You're right! It has great resistance and click and notchy feeling
Got a E85 with the 2.2 M54. I just love this car. Hopefully I get one day the all new z4 with the new 6 cylinder.
I love my black manual! Super rare here in Aus (only 25 manuals) - feels like a modern day 240z

Nice video! 👌
2nd gen rear lights are way better imo.
Had mine for 9 glorious years as a daily ♥️

Interesting 🤔
Thanks for that suggestion! I will buy those in the future.
Crazy to think they are coming up on 20 years old
I’m looking for one of these so bad!!!!
Beautiful car 😊

I think the camera may have just picked it up as white, but it's more yellowish in person.
I have also read that and would like to do the same one day

Helmet in an automatic is crazy
I love mine.
Next time clean you car before making a video… and install some coilovers
