Jess' character was written beautifully. He grew up without a father & a (mostly) irresponsible mother so it made sense that he wasn't stable or mature. He retreated into the world of books and did things his way because his mother didn't set boundaries. So when he arrives in Stars Hollow where EVERYONE (uncle, towns people, Lorelai etc) are telling him what to do it's like...why should I? For him he couldn't just flip a switch, but gradually he learned. Time with Luke & Rory changed him. Made him better. So he grew from a rebellious teenager to a wonderful man. I wish there was a scene where Rory told Lorelai about him. How he straightened up, wrote a book, treated Rory with respect & opened her eyes so she realized who she was again. I was dying for a scene like that. Lorelai and everyone in town hated him immediately. It was stupid. He was a teenager and they hated him and thought Dean was a golden boy. Dean was as angry and jealous as Jess but no one seems to call him on it and he also ended up being the one to cheat on his wife, string Rory along, and lie. Lorelai thought Jess was like Chris and that he was going to lead her down a bad path. Truth is, Rory ended up making poor decisions and it's Jess that helps to figure out how to save herself. As much as Rory was away from town in 4-7, she always went back (whether to see her mom, Lane, or the various town functions). Logan only visited Stars Hollow once or twice as I recall, and you could tell he was out of his element and not comfortable there though he tried for Rory's sake. This was almost identical to when Christopher tried to get used to the town when he and Lorelai were briefly married in season 7. As for Jess, ASP confirmed that Rory and Jess were endgame in her mind, and still could be if the revival returns. He let it continue because he just assumed she would pull herself together after a break, and in part because he liked her being there with him. @@LaudePelícula Yes, I don't remember the publication, but I do remember her being asked about Rory's endgame romance, and she said something along the lines of Rory is as much her mother, as Jess is Luke, and that she figured that they would end up together eventually when they were both ready for it, and had she worked on season 7 should would have had Milo come back towards the end so Rory and Jess could get a proper ending.
Jess doesn’t get enough credit. He makes mistakes. He learns from them. He works hard. He grows. He doesn’t ever try to change Rory into something else. He supports what she wants from life and isn’t afraid to speak up when she isn’t acting like herself. He understands Rory. That’s love right there. Deep and real love.
Their first kiss is also my favorite - still giving me chills. I think as a teen you can totally relate to the feelings and all you wanna do is what she did: just kiss the boy. But hardly any girl at that age has the guts to do this. It was so fascinating to me to watch this - especially as I was a complete sucker for Milo Ventimiglia. 😍#allthefeels
While I agree that Jess was probably the worst boyfriend during the relationship, I feel he's one of the only characters that really grows up and evolves throughout the series-especially considering the little amount of screen time he got compared to to other recurring characters in GG. He was the one Rory had the most in common with, someone that could keep up with her not just in wit and pop culture references but also in literary intellect. I feel like if Rory had dated Jess in the later seasons their relationship would have been as close to perfect as a relationship could be-with ups and downs, sure, but they would have handled them a lot more maturely... to the same token though.... it's because of rory in the beginnint that jess became who he did in the later seasons and in the revival.....
I agree. Rory grew only a little with Logan, made him grow up... then bailed on actually growing up herself when he proposed- proving herself too immature for that relationship... and the revival deal with her being "the other woman" proved HE didn't have it fully either... But Jess... From "I won't care about anyone" to willingly CHANGING for her, to be a better person cuz of her, for her... HE proved not only he could mature (and did), but that HE would do it willing for the right reasons... and all his times to "rescue" her from herself showed how much he truly cares for her. Such a shame that she never got it together for him, too.
Nope. Given what a bookworm Rory is, my all-time favorite Jess/Rory moment was when he stole her Allen Ginsberg book and wrote in it. It was our very first inkling that they were perfect for each other, and that Jess was more than a hoodlum plot point. I wish they had gotten together in the end, but I also wish they don't ever do another reunion. That first one was terrible.
Literally my favourite couple from the entire show😍😍, but it's always bittersweet to watch them over again, because you know how it ends even though you just really want it to work out for them 😭😭
The writers of this show sucks. They should have been together. Even though I think Jess is too much for Rory. He deserve better bc she's a bitch, but they were cute.
I really hope they do a whole new revival show and not just a few episodes! They left us hanging! I wanna know who the father of Rory's baby is...and I really want her with Jess damn it!!!
pookie26768 on the bright side if that’s true that means she should eventually end up with Jess! Obviously she’s figuring out that Logan isn’t exactly good for her and her baby
Logan's the father. I'm not sure why this is still a question? I hope that it turns out that Jess helps her like Luke helped Lorelai and they end up together
How can one not want Jess? He's got everything: intelligence, character, depth and loyalty. Among all the other guys Rory dated, he is the only one that stands interesting, to be honest.
I miss Rory and Jess. They were so perfect for each other. They understood each other and Jess knew Rory the most. Everybody just kept doubting him which made him look worse than Dean. I love Dean, but Dean and Rory were just not a perfect match. It is team Jess all the way.
My favourite scenes are the kiss in 3x08 at the end of this video, "the like me, not like me like me" talk from lost and found S2. I always love their first time just meeting each other. But also a lot of small things, like Jess fixing the toaster or giving Rory an umbrella.
When I was a teen, watching "Gilmore Girls" every week, I was pretty much in love with Jess. (Now, I am pretty much just in love with Milo Ventimiglia. haha) Also, during the original run of the show, I truly wanted Rory to end up with Jess too! But now, as an adult, looking back at her inconsistent character in the original series, and observing her terrible behavior in the revival, I'm not sure she deserves him. Jess has grown as a person, and has become the incredible man we always saw the potential for, whereas Rory has embraced her worst qualities and has regressed as a person. Now she's an absolute mess, behaves like a bad person, AND she's pregnant, with a child that is pretty much 100% guaranteed NOT to be his (which, though not a deal breaker for Jess, I'm sure, IS an added challenge, should they choose to get together, that could have been avoided if she had made better choices, instead of acting so recklessly, and :::clears throat::: cheating... ) So, unless Rory can get it together, Jess honestly deserves better. Don't get me wrong, I still think Rory and Jess COULD be endgame, and probably SHOULD be endgame, but something has to change! Believe me, I would love to see another outing of "Gilmore Girls" on Netflix (or wherever); one where Rory finally redeems herself and becomes the outstanding person that all of her loved ones always saw her as, and hoped she could and would be. I'm not sure it will happen, but I would love to see it. I mean, just seeing her become a good person finally would almost be more satisfying for me than her and Jess actually getting together at this point. (Who am I kidding? No it wouldn't! haha) :::sigh::: I don't know... I just want her to be worthy of him, because he is so dreamy to me. But maybe that's the problem; perhaps Jess belongs with a character more like ME than Rory, but Rory's all we've got. Hmm... I think I've thought about this way too much. haha
I totally agree, though I think that was the point. Rory was so good when she was younger, I feel like they had to bring her down a little and show that not everything goes the way you want or expect it to in life. But I REALLY hope they bring back another revival and show her growing, and finding herself again, like Jess did and of course then eventually getting together!
Lmao hahaha but I kind agree with her. Rory is a bitch, Jess is too much for her. But he was the best boyfriend, with his flaws obviously, but they were the best. Could've been endgame.
I will ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS give Jess credit for being the human being who helps Rory to "wake up"! The way he said, "What's going on?!" wakes me up and forces me to evaluate my life!
Jess giving Rory his book hands down a favorite moment. And the lead in to it a couple episodes before Richard is talking about a book he's reading and asks what Rory has read lately. Such a major moment to realize we hadn't seen her with a book all season until Jess gives her his!!!
@@luellaashforth2292 No there not, that isn't how genetics work. They aren't blood relatives and are old enough that there relationship is okay. They never once felt like they were cousins

Genuinely the best thing to happen on television screens in a long time was the shot of Jess staring longingly at Rory in the revival ❤️ that and the “you’re still a contender” line 😂
"They shoot gilmores, dont they" Is my absolute favourite episode and its one that I revisit a lot. Also the look on his face when he hears her on that park bench in new york is actually adorable
Jess and Rory are one of those rare couples that even when they're just casually talking and hanging out the way they look at each other and talk to each other... my heart just loves them.
ok she wasn't "technically cheating" she did cheat. Also I thought Jess was a jerk in the first few seasons but he really matured and changed and I loved that. Rory on the other hand...
if they don't get married in the second season of year in the life, I don't want it. Jess is the only one smart enough for her, and the only one who had an actual connection with her. Even though sometimes he was such a pain and treated her bad, he knew her better than anyone.
it's funny to see how they changed roles over time. Starting as an egoistic a**hole, Jess made his way and became a cool adult, who knows who he is. Starting as a smart and self-secure teen, Rory ends up being a cheater, being knocked up and has yet come to another turning point where it seems like she has know clue what to do with her future. I think if there is someone who could help her with this mess, it's Jess. :)
I was never in to this couple even when it originally aired. Jess pissed me off so many times lol Even as a teenager couldn’t grasp why Rory was so into him (but understood he was her literary equal) I started liking Jess as an adult and when he called Rory out on her BS for dropping out of Yale, because we can all agree she needed that wake up call.
But that was only after he had been on his own for a few years and straightened himself out, because Rory made Jess want to be a better person and then he did the same for her by giving her that wake up call.
Jess really deserve much screen time.... I mean we hardly see rory and jess hanging around when they actually started to date... And after season 3 we can see him in only few episodes... The writer gave dean another chance to date rory but not with jess.... Why??? In reboot... The writers had chance to gave us rory and jess moments... But again they disappointed us... I think rory and jess are endgame... So i really hope that writers will see this and give us proper scenes between them and let them end together... They are like new luke and lorelai... So make them iconic... We love jess and he deserves better story❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Totally agree with you. Rory is in love with Lagan; she got over Jess a long time ago and I don't think she can be in love with him again in the future.
Even tho that is true it does fit his character with him still always in love with her and no matter what he will always be. And even if rory is over him and she wont show it but she will always love him and when they first started dating he was sorta a case work for her. (No offence) and now after all these years she is proud of him for all he accomplished and I think they are endgame even tho there not together anymore💔😭
I think in the ideal world she would find someone who she would be a friend with and later get together with that guy.........but yeah I always imagine Peter Petrelli (Milo's character in Heroes) when it comes to that guy....lol..... but that guy from Mad Men the actress of Rory married is a really nice choice.... hope for a happy marriage for them both..... maybe one day I'll watch the show Mad Men.
my favorite ship by far in the whole show. i rly want them to do a second season in the revival and her and jess to end up together. they both deserve that happy ending. jess can father rory’s child and they can be a family. you can obviously see in the first few seasons even based on how he looked at her that he loves her. rory and dean even broke up because she liked jess. that may have been when she was a teen, but it’s still a notable thing. hopefully tho they do end up together because i think they both deserve it.
I get Rory in S3 and I get her in S4, but she lost me afterwards when she picked Logan and even in the revival I don't get her entirely. I know that the revival was the original S7, had Amy not gotten fired but Rory still should have picked Jess.
S Jaco I know right!!😭And btw I totally celebrate you for having Alec Lightwood as your profile pic 😱😱😱 I love Shadowhunters 🤓 Sry little Fangirl Moment here 😬
loved your picks (Rory calling Jess on the phone in A-Tisket, A-Tasket is at the top of my list too) wait how is goodnight dodger not on this list at all?
Maybe he’s the one because their chemistry is so great but also because he’s like the guiding figure who keeps her true to her character and they’ve never been properly fleshed out so definitely unresolved (daddy!!!!)
I was so excited about the Revival but I feel that the writters blew off the only one chance they have to make a great comeback, the characters didnt feel like themselves, the story felt so forced, like if they were trying to fit in this New generation
I’m so mad that they didn’t end up together I really hope something happens were they end up together cuz they’re literally so cute and jess is perfect for Rory

@@RyLHatch1989 thank you. OMG I didn't know she really said it like that! I think I'm happy now 🤓
Jess doesn’t get enough credit.
6:10 why does Jess give me weak knees and butterflies when he says *I love you* 😍😭
Because he's beautiful
Literally my favourite couple from the entire show😍😍, but it's always bittersweet to watch them over again, because you know how it ends even though you just really want it to work out for them 😭😭
Mia Borges Has yessss jess+rory luke+Lorelai
The writers of this show sucks. They should have been together. Even though I think Jess is too much for Rory. He deserve better bc she's a bitch, but they were cute.
In the episode when they met and Rory quoted Oliver Twist and Jess susprisingly knew it. That was a very cute moment
It's Chewbacca
Oh, man! I've just got spoilers.
Isn't it the most obvious that Logan is the father?
How can one not want Jess? He's got everything: intelligence, character, depth and loyalty. Among all the other guys Rory dated, he is the only one that stands interesting, to be honest.
You could tell that Jess really loved Rory by the way he looked at her...
Jess was the one from the first moment they met. He was always the one. He will never not be the one...
Hmm... I think I've thought about this way too much. haha
YESSS!!! He's too good for her now.
The way he said, "What's going on?!" wakes me up and forces me to evaluate my life!
do you yahoo?. I laughed at this so much. I'm old.
22.8 miles
Jess giving Rory his book hands down a favorite moment. And the lead in to it a couple episodes before Richard is talking about a book he's reading and asks what Rory has read lately. Such a major moment to realize we hadn't seen her with a book all season until Jess gives her his!!!
"Why did you drop out of Yaaale?"
anyone think that Logan is Rory Christopher and Jess is Rory Luke??
Jess is not Rory's Luke.
RORY AND JESS ARE RELATED
@@luellaashforth2292 No there not, that isn't how genetics work. They aren't blood relatives and are old enough that there relationship is okay. They never once felt like they were cousins
KillaSin515 YEA HE IS
@@immyA They didn't grow up feeling like cousins, they're not biologically related, they are technically cousins by marrige but the relationship is still okay.
Jess was the one who pulled her out of her mess by being completely honest with her. I cannot believe Jess did not became her endgame.
Genuinely the best thing to happen on television screens in a long time was the shot of Jess staring longingly at Rory in the revival ❤️ that and the “you’re still a contender” line 😂
My favorite of all of her boyfriends😊
"They shoot gilmores, dont they" Is my absolute favourite episode and its one that I revisit a lot.
Also the look on his face when he hears her on that park bench in new york is actually adorable
“Do you Yahoo?” Oh, how times have changed.
Jess and Rory are one of those rare couples that even when they're just casually talking and hanging out the way they look at each other and talk to each other... my heart just loves them.
10000000000000000000% Team Jess
TEAM JESS!
I know people take issue with Jess and some of his action and attitude but seriously him and Rory had some of the best moments together.
ok she wasn't "technically cheating" she did cheat.
Also I thought Jess was a jerk in the first few seasons but he really matured and changed and I loved that. Rory on the other hand...
Rory and Jess forever! Even if they never have another installment of GG, they end up together in my mind ❤
100% Team Jess. GG endgame!
Yesssss. I will never not say that jess was the best for her
Am I the only one who loved their 2nd kiss? It wasn't even an honorable mention😭
❤️ Yaaaassss Team Jess
Holly ludlow yeah me too
if they don't get married in the second season of year in the life, I don't want it. Jess is the only one smart enough for her, and the only one who had an actual connection with her. Even though sometimes he was such a pain and treated her bad, he knew her better than anyone.
Is there going to be a second season?
waittt theres gonna be a second season of the revival??
@@taliahoteit nope it's fake
Logan didn't know Rory, he just has money and says "oh this is my money take to waht wtv you want". Jess really knew Rory
it's funny to see how they changed roles over time. :)
The hi hi hi hi 👋🏼 moment Top 5 for
Me...sums up that even the worst bad boys can act goofy when they fall for someone
I felt the same way when I first saw it too. Weird. Why is that?
Finally someone who understands me
Jess really deserve much screen time....
We love jess and he deserves better story❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
i hate how they made jess long for rory!! he deserved a better storyline - not to just be at her beck and call, hoping she'll love him
I don't think it meant Jess was pining for her all those years, just that he'll always love her even if it's deep down
PREACH!
Jess: "You look very nice."
Rory: "Thanks."
I feel like I’m the only one who is Team Nobody when it comes to Rory’s romantic affairs. But... if I had to choose, I’d pick her with Jess.
Is it still me or were u so mad when Rory chose Yale over Harvard?
just u
I was
YES
Sorta.
their second first kiss should have gotten a proper spot on the list, but thanks for making this, so many great throwbacks😍
Team Jess💙 if Rory doesn’t pick him, I will❤️
my favorite ship by far in the whole show. i rly want them to do a second season in the revival and her and jess to end up together. they both deserve that happy ending. jess can father rory’s child and they can be a family. you can obviously see in the first few seasons even based on how he looked at her that he loves her. rory and dean even broke up because she liked jess. that may have been when she was a teen, but it’s still a notable thing. hopefully tho they do end up together because i think they both deserve it.
I love Jess 😍, but Rory didn’t deserve him at all... he actually was truly in love with her. 😭😭😭 Sorry, but I still kind of hate Rory for that.
I get Rory in S3 and I get her in S4, but she lost me afterwards when she picked Logan and even in the revival I don't get her entirely. I know that the revival was the original S7, had Amy not gotten fired but Rory still should have picked Jess.
S Jaco I know right!!😭And btw I totally celebrate you for having Alec Lightwood as your profile pic 😱😱😱 I love Shadowhunters 🤓 Sry little Fangirl Moment here 😬
They didn't work together originally but now they've both matured, especially jess, I'm jumping to team jess. Sorry logan, enjoy the heiress
For what? Jess hurt her not the other way around. He left without notice.
To be fair, Jess let her down a lot
Since it's a reoccurring circle.... That means EVENTUALLY Rory and Jess will end up together 👌
I've never seen Gilmore Girls, but thank Ms Mojo! Now I'm gonna see only these episodes with Jess bc I love Milo Ventimiglia. Thanks for the list 😉
'You looked it up'... was the most romantic scene 💕
Best ship on the show!!
lol wtf do you mean "technically" cheating? I wanted them to happen as much as anyone else, but that was cheating - point blank.
THANK YOU.
+Shaani Grace because she was still in a relationship with Dean, it was cheating. Of course we all wanted her with Jess, but she DID cheat on Dean.
that's literally what I said! :D
loved your picks (Rory calling Jess on the phone in A-Tisket, A-Tasket is at the top of my list too)
wait how is goodnight dodger not on this list at all?
Jess and Rory 4ever!!! Hopefully they bring the series back.
#TeamJess
Completely agree with this whole list.
if someone love you from 17 to your 30s and you never had sex, that is something.
Quality content
jess will always be the right man
They was in love, not just love, their looks was magnetic on both side💞
Thank God you made this video. I was waiting for this video. I am totally Team Jess! ❤️
team Jess foreverrrrrr❤️love them together
I love Rory and Jess they should get a happy ending and be together!
For me, it'll always be Jess haha no matter how it ends, I'll always be #TeamJess.
He opened up her eyes, everyone should be thankful.
“Sold to the nice, young hoodlum in the back” 🤣😂😅
ah, yes! thanks for reminding me of some of the greatest moments from that show 😍💕😍💕😍
Maybe he’s the one because their chemistry is so great but also because he’s like the guiding figure who keeps her true to her character and they’ve never been properly fleshed out so definitely unresolved (daddy!!!!)
The countdown I’ve been waiting for 😭😭 I love them so much.
I was so excited about the Revival but I feel that the writters blew off the only one chance they have to make a great comeback, the characters didnt feel like themselves, the story felt so forced, like if they were trying to fit in this New generation
This isn't you is my all time favorite because Jess gives Rory the wake up call she deserves because tbats how much he loves her.
We need a new revival With a end with rory & Jess ❤️
its jess, its always gonna be jess.
#TEAMJESS He was the one❤
Jess + Rory = true love 😍😘😚😗
I love jess ! Hes was the best out of all three .
Gilmore Girls is my all time favorite show!!!
I love Jess
Yasssss team jess!!!! My favorite moment is when he's chasing rory around town square yelling they look like idiots before he tells her he loves her
What about when she suggests him books and he calls her a book tease? That's so cute
Can't decide who I like more, Jess Mariano or Jack Pearson 😏
+maeflower522 Jess Mariano for sure! He had that whole Grease T-Bird badboy thing going for him ;D haha
jack pearson 10/10 i love Rebecca and him
Milo😍
Both. Jess for young Rory and Jack for mature Rory 🤪🤪🤪😆😆😜😜😜.
I CANT GET OVER THE 7:20 PART I JUST CANT THERE IS CUTENESS OVERLOAD
I MISS THEM SO MUCH
I need more jess and Rory, I need closure! I need to see them end up together! Please please
I’m so mad that they didn’t end up together I really hope something happens were they end up together cuz they’re literally so cute and jess is perfect for Rory
Ugh why you gotta get me crying these 2 r like my otp
Team Jess all day. 4ever.
I've been waiting for this video since forever
