The statement of the guy staining the floors when asked if he did it by hand “that’s the way” let’s me know he’s a master at what’s his doing and it’s not just any job for him but a craft. He is trustworthy and a man of ethics.
The floors are gorgeous!! I've had 3 houses built now & I must say, I'm so jealous of your contractors. A lot of mine made me feel like I was working for them. They kept trying to direct me into doing things that were faster & easier for them instead of what I really wanted. Your gentlemen are true professionals. They actually hand stained your floors!! Don't see that too often anymore! Plz tell them we applaud their fantastic work! So excited for you
Right? My mom has redone her family room...no problem...her bathrooms and no problem again. But with her kitchen...my gosh...they tried to tell her what they wanted and she had to keep saying no, this is my house and this is what I want...one of the things was telling her to either not have a dishwasher anymore or a tiny one and she refused stating that she always had a regular size one and though she rarely uses it, she wants it for big family get togethers. The floors turned out great...I don't know about those new lamps for the kitchen though...just seem strange to me for a kitchen...but I'll wait and trust the process. 💖
The workers you chose are just amazing! They do not do anything half-way or the lazy-way. To watch them stain the floor by hand was painful for me but how gorgeous are they. Rich tones and so beautifully done. You certainly chose amazing 'hardwood flooring specialists' - such hard workers and really dedicated to finishing the floors with love. Your makeover vlogs have been nothing short of fabulous.
Your tradesmen are so skilled and nice to you.. they are seem really honest with you, thinking with you and all.. I can imagine it must feel soooo good seeing these guys turning your ideas into a real thing! It’s gonna be so beautiful when it’s all done! And you are moving so quick!! Awesome!
It's a rare gift to find trustworthy tradespeople who'll listen to you. After multiple experiences with house renovations, I've developed an absolute phobia about hiring tradesmen. In my experience, they all big themselves up as the best ever (while denigrating the work done by previous plumbers, electricians or whatever) and then deliver an unimpressive standard of work. The worst aspect is their resistance against doing what you want, saying "It can't be done" (translation: that looks too hard, so I'm going to steer you towards the easiest option for me").
I’m not a marble person bc of how overdone it became BUT YOUR SINK MY GOD 💖 your house is looking so beautiful already. I love that you’ve jumped into really nurturing the period of the home and trying to compliment its bones. Ugh the floors. Your floor team and counter team seem to be so quick while still providing the most stunning results. I can’t. I’m so excited for you.
✨💖✨It makes my heart happy how enthusiastic Drew is about honoring the heart of this home, while giving it an updated feel. And those Monterey chairs! I want all the books they were using in the store where Drew bought the chairs. Just saying.
✨💖✨Only Drew would say he picked up a “cute little hammer," and that it had a "chic wooden handle." Love that boy. Makes me smile and has a contagious enthusiasm that gets me going.
The floors look spectacular; both stains turned out beautifully!! The Monterey chairs are such a great find. I love how you're honoring the home's style.
I will suggest that you have recessed lighting in the kitchen the 2 lights you found will not put out much light in that area ( 2 rooms you need lots of light are bathroom & kitchen) everything is looking so good so far .. the floors look awesome , love the dark stain..
I wish he’d say that in his videos, “good job guys”. Drew just comments how good it looks and how he’s obsessed with the sink but doesn’t acknowledge the skill with which it was done, at least not in the video.
@@Natalia-pc7fm I love his taste and hope he continues using contractors on that beautiful home. His lack of DIY skills in the videos I’ve watched make me cringe. Stick to design Drew, please!!
SUGGESTION on how to create a template for the content. Have one story - staining floors, or the shopping for antiques, or the installation of the countertops etc.. then have all your 'out takes' and any fun happy crazy clips at end . This is a very successful film edit technique that movie and tv audiences enjoy.
I think you have somehow managed to find the world's best contractors, true artists of their craft. I love these home vlogs Drew, the way that you document and share with us has made every tiny detail interesting and delightful.
Could not be happier for you on this journey. You are crushing it on this house. The floor colors are wonderful. What a great crew of trades you’ve found! Their work is perfection. And those Monterrey chairs! Living vicariously through your excitement, Drew. NOW, you are an interior designer, doing major renovations not just simple DIY. Congratulations to you on your growth and development in your career. All my best to you.
I love the way your brain works. Your creative self is so meticulous and detailed. You have a real talent. I know that I am saying nothing new, but I really enjoy watching your art come to life.
these gentlemen are masters at their craft. floors are beautiful 🌸 and the chairs are perfect!!! the condition is amazing!! the kitchen is already besutiful!! you’ve made wonderful choices! 🌸
Omgggg the sink. Those floors. The chairs. Everything is absolute perfection 🥹 And I’m loving these style videos- they highlight the reality of restoring a home, which is juggling a million things at a time 😅
Hi Drew oh don't worry, your video's are still very interesting to watch. I love following your journey with your new house. Always happy when I see a new upload. It's so interesting to see everything trough your eyes... You show us the things you think are beautiful and make us find them beautiful too 🤩 lots of love Sanne from the Netherlands
That 50/50 stain mix was brilliant, and it looks incredible. It brought out the grain of the wood in such a remarkable way, and the way the artisan did it all by hand did make a huge difference in the outcome! It’s amazing to see this project come alive under the skilled hands of these craftsman (and your impeccable vision!) So happy for you Drew! This house could not have been any more blessed than to have you as its new caretaker. 😍
I love and agree with the concept the house could not have been anymore blessed than to have Drew as its new caretaker. When he says Wow we can just feel it with him. The world would benefit from this level of care in all things accomplished. Think of how all lives would change.
The floors just have been a triumph! The stain has come up so rich as opposed to the matt, dark stain that was there previously. The basin is perfect in the space and makes the kitchen look more tied together. Can’t wait to see what you’ve picked for flooring
You can try using a drill with a course paint/rust stripping attachment (preferrably nonwoven disc) to take off the majority of the mastic. Then use a stiff brush attachment to get the loose bits. Finally vacuum up the dusk and make sure you have a clean surface before apply new mastic. Good luck...luckily it's not a big area like a kitchen floor!
I just want to tell you that the sink and the floors look amazing. You have hired some seriously talented craftspeople. I cannot wait to see more of your designs come to fruition.
,when choosing light's for the kitchen, you need to imagine, having to work and prepare and cook food, you need lot's of light, that doesn't create shadow's, for working in
I never thought I would say something like that about a backsplash, but the one in the little kitchen nook gave me goosebumps! It’s crazy beautiful and so is the sink. Now I can die in peace because I’ve seen it all.
Don't die! Keep watching until all the cows come home. I want you to enjoy what he does next and more after that. It's wonderful to watch so let's get some popcorn 🍿 and watch the Drew makes it happen show.
The floors are INCREDIBLE!! I love the stain colors. I love that you opted for different colors upstairs and downstairs. The SINK!?!!! Seriously, it’s gorgeous. I’m here for any content you upload! However, I really LOVE the house to home renovations!
I'm 55 and have been decorating my places since I was sixteen years old. Currently working on my parents 1960's house which I bought after Dad died and Mum sadly went into home. I love your channel and am buzzing off your excitement every time you discover something new that you like, I so relate to this. Keep up your great work you are a pleasure and inspiration to watch....
Drew, I love the stain color you chose for the floors . What a find on the chairs. They were meant for you. You are such a talented designer. Your house is going to be spectacular.
This is how home renovation actually happens, so it’s great! Life is always a little chaotic. This isn’t HGTV 40 minutes from disaster to finished. It’s the real journey!
Wow, Wow...I absolutely 💯 ❣️the 2 stain colors. Would you please list the brand and colors and what kind of poly (how many coats)? That marble is stunning 😍 Thanks for sharing ❣️ So exciting to watch the progress.
Yes, yes and YES! To the chairs and light fixtures you got. I love that gothic/Spanish look as well. I gasped when I saw the chairs were real Monterey chairs! What a treasure to have seen let alone own! I’m super jealous. That dark brown stain is so wonderful. 😍 If the old kitchen tiles are stone, you should make drink coasters out of them too. Your place is coming along so well and I can’t wait to see all that is to come.
The team that did your floors are AMAZING! Every single room looked FLAWLESS. And you know you have the best in the business when they make it look that easy. 😍😍😍
Everything is SO BEAUTIFUL!!! The marble, the floors, the fixtures, everything. Thank you for taking us along, I really enjoyed this. (Also, hats off to the guys hand finishing the floors - such beautiful work)❤️
I just love being in the back seat of your adventure. Love vlogs of your shopping in all it's various forms. I love antiques and vintage because it tells a story and they are so well made/ craftmanship that is sadly lacking in the big box stores. Look forward to new vlogs!
It’s amazing to watch you curate your home and have the opportunity to do it so carefully and intentionally. Like what a DREAM!! I’ve loved watching you grow over the past few years and I’m looking forward to seeing you grow into this home 🥹
Loved the video and actually enjoyed the "jumping around" content...so interesting to see the Ohio footage, and just LOVE all your choices for the house! Have a great day.
Love these videos. They are so enjoyable to watch. I like that you cover more than one topic because it makes it much more interesting. The marble looks smashing!
When Drew talks about the video jumping around and how he is still trying to work out how to present his exciting content, we are just busy being along for our exciting ride, and yes, enjoying as it covers multiple topics in his truly just Drew manner.
I am loving your new house and agreeing with all your choices, too. You have such a wonderful and childlike sense of wonder! I absolutely love watching as you get closer and closer to your home's original soul. Always trust your intuition. I see it as 'spot on '.
A sense of wonder as fresh as that of a child can only be one that captivates us in. I think your words well express what we feel as we look forward to Drew's next post.
it’s so cool seeing you shop cleveland stores i frequent! cle is so under hyped, but we have so many incredible gems for antiques and thrifting. Love the shoutout!!!❤
You are doing an amazing job putting together the old vibe and incorporating the new touches . The craftsmen that are doing your floors are awesome . Your hunting for special pieces to fill your home . You so far have the balance thing going on . That is a great house and it will take you years to finish it , oh but it will probably never happen . You have two floors , the courtyard ,the work area . Projects forever . What fun you are having .
Oh. My. Gosh. Drew!!! The sink, counter , backsplash is perfect. The marble pieces you chose and the specific cuts are stunning. As for the wood floors - original old wood floors are gorgeous and you added a fantastic color to them. Thank you for sharing this experience with us.
Wide flat blade jackhammer to remove thinset. You need to scrape it down to the white surface that I see underneath. I’m assuming there is wood flooring below.
Drew congratulations on finding those beautiful lights and chairs. I absolutely loved them. And the marble sink it's a dream of pure perfection. I am enjoying watching you update and decorate your new space ❤️
Drew, your home is so inspiring. I'm so happy to see a young person really love, appreciate and restore a historic home. I lived in a historic district in Phoenix and although it had its challenges, we loved the home. Can't wait to see your next video!
So proud of you, the kitchen is a dream, the floors are amazing, and the thought and care you put into the light fixtures is lovely. A job well done. Only a kind, loving and patient heart would take the time to bring out the beauty and potential of your home. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you.
The two chairs are fabulous! They are perfect for your house. And the two light fixtures will look so incredible in the windows. I can just imagine how fabulous they will look from the outside when lit.
I live east of Cleveland on Lake Erie. I recognized the type of streets and trees and thought for a moment LA had a area like here! You definitely will find better prices on antiques here as opposed to the West Coast. I am enjoying your make over of your home.
I live in the Cleveland area and the same thing happened to me. I think he finally mentioned Cleveland when they were touring Bratenahl (?). I’m going to have to visit that antique shop. Funny that I found out about it by watching a vlogger in LA.
Jumping around is how house restoration works. Flea hops from one thing to another. Sink makes me want to go on a water diet. Too wonderful for words. The floor color stained are just right.
Loving the journey, Drew! The guys working on your home are true artists! What an amazing experience you are having (let alone letting us tag along!). Your Monterrey chairs are beautiful! In fact, everything is beautiful! I am also loving the lanterns. It's like an on-going TV series...may it last for many seasons!
Look at you removing the kitchen tile. Happy that it was easier than you thought it would be to remove. Your dark floors, chef kiss. Gorgeous! Live following your home videos. Until next time...stay safe.
The floors, the counters, THE SINK!!! Absolutely stunning choices and your team of contractors are next level. You have a great thing going, I'm loving the journey so far!
DREW!!! OMG the floors! When I was little back in the Stone Age, my mom would wax the floors by hand after we were all asleep. When I was older I asked her why she just didn't use a sponge mop? She wouldn't be on her hands & knees and it would be fast. She showed me the difference the next time she did the floor on a small patch. The STREAKS!! I'm loving the entire process and since my mind jumps from one thing to another anyway, it's fun shopping in a different state one minute then drooling over THAT SINK the next Keep up the good work. It's certainly making me feel as if I'm there with you
Love your progress videos exactly as you make them. They’re authentic, and represent at the point in time you, working through design ideas, triumphs, and tests. Then to see your unscripted reactions are what it’s all about! Thank you for taking us on this journey! That sink is to die for!!
Drew Drew Drew! All your choices just blew my mind. The sink! I think that is the most beautiful sink I have ever seen. I gasped when I saw it. Both the floor stains are stunning. The kitchen lights are perfect. And the chairs are a real find. The marble backsplash is gorgeous and how it is framed in the arch is so perfect. I think I speak for most of your viewers when I say we like hanging out with you no matter the format of the video. Your home is going to be a stunning showplace when you finish. So talented Drew.❤
I love the colour of the Weathered Oak on the lower level, but mixing the darker stains on the upper level was just genius, it works so well with the beams. The marble sink is a triumph and I can’t wait to see the finished splash backs, the lights you bought for the kitchen will work so beautifully with windows for the lounge. You make choosing the decor for an open plan living space look effortless, Bravo!
The Marble sink is awesome...with the gold just gorgeous. ♥️🌷You have created the best kitchen sink I have ever seen. I hand it to you. What a creation. Like I would find myself just looking forward to a dish in the sink. OMG gorgeous. You have crushed it with this marble creation! The gold just sets it off. Perfect..

Wasn't sure about the marble and those lights for the kitchen but wtf they're actually perfect!! The floors are beautiful! Wow Drew, you're going to have such a gorgeous home ❤
I LOVE your choice for the floor stain, they are gorgeous. It’s ALL gorgeous. And you are a pleasure to watch, I was giggling at how excited you were with the ease of bringing up the big floor tiles!!
I can't get enough of you and your redo on your new home. The floors are amazing. The dark floors are my favorite. You have such a great sense of style. Bonus love for the chairs and the new kitchen lights!
I really love how the floors are turning out. And mixing the two brown tones together worked out really well. And OMGoodness, that marble sink and counter tops to die for. I can't wait to see when your entire home is complete. The process, step by step, is so much fun to see. Thanks for sharing another amazing Lone Fox video. Until next time!
Wow, he did A BEAUTIFUL job on the floors! The sink looks stunning also! I’m so happy for you drew. I LOVE this style of vids! Also as a midwestern resident, you enjoying the antique shops here is amazing!
The house is looking spectacular. I had an old 1934 house with a Mediterranean look as well and loved it. Thank you for letting us accompany you on your journey! How exciting… those chairs were Gorg!
Love the dark floor Drew very sumptuous. Those chaps are very hard working and have done an exceptional job on the floors . The kitchen marble is looking chic too .
Drew, I absolutely love your videos. I love your enthusiasm and honesty when you see results you love and results you’re not crazy about. You and MaCenna are two designers whose videos I don’t miss. Your new home is so beautiful. The marble is so dramatic. Keep the videos coming!

17:31 My favourite is at this moment you can see the wet stain in the direct sunlight. SO BEAUTIFUL
Wide flat blade jackhammer to remove thinset. You need to scrape it down to the white surface that I see underneath. I’m assuming there is wood flooring below.
The sink....the floors. OMG soo so good!
I LOVE that weathered oak floor stain! good choice! And the sink is stunning!
I’m loving the home improvements as well as how you’re finding all the wonderful pieces that’s making this home yours.
I’m totally obsessed with your renovation as well as MaCenna’s Texas cottage redo! I am here for ALL of it!
That marble sink! Beautiful! Floors are gonna make you smile for a long time!
So proud of you, the kitchen is a dream, the floors are amazing, and the thought and care you put into the light fixtures is lovely. A job well done. Only a kind, loving and patient heart would take the time to bring out the beauty and potential of your home. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you.
To your future. Cheering it on for certain.
I smiled through this whole video. What a joy to watch you and all the parts of this process!
Looks really good , so happy for you. You always make me feel happy when I watch your channel. ❤️
I'm loving the entire process and since my mind jumps from one thing to another anyway, it's fun shopping in a different state one minute then drooling over THAT SINK the next
Keep up the good work. It's certainly making me feel as if I'm there with you
I love this journey that you are on and you’re taking us along with you. Thank you. I enjoy watching it all.

Perfect..
