The way he plays it, it looks like a peace of cake, but I'm also playing this concerto, and i can tell you: it's not simple!

I think this is exactly how Mozart would play it

Because that's how the concerto was played many years ago. If you look at the score (both to this and the other four concerti), you'll notice that until the solo comes in, the solo violin line doubles the first violin part.

Did @Capuccino97 gave you a thumb down? I removed it.
He think he himself will play it better.

Yes, his cadenza sounds like Beethoven`s violin/ piano concerto (Opus 61/61a.
However, he has an excellent technique and virtuosity ...and he plays with feeling and
expression. I would like to know the result of this competition .....Did he win?

the cadenza reminds me of beethoven's violin concerto, except for the double stops, and the trills. All in all, it doesn't belong really. But overall, a fabulous intrepretation

the cadenza is ridiculous , but i appreciate that he tried .

Not trying to be rude or anything but I just want to know: is it just me or around 3:15 he played a note out of tune!?! He is suchh a great violinist but I just want to know if anyone else heard (:

iralee3c it was the thing to do back in Mozart's day, and also there used to not be conductors either.

I've been watching his videos from this competition....I think he's really good, but I don't really quite understand how he got FIRST place.
    He's good, but....FIRST place?

well your not a judge are you? which is a good thing because he definitely deserved to win and it was the launching point of his solo violinist career. HA!

@abbott080 There is no quick way to learn violin. It takes years and years to master. Just go and pay for lessons with a decent teacher and don't trust any quick learning books.

he is playing so beautifull but i i think that there is a tendency for the new best violonists to imitate Vengerov,s facial mimics which is not something that they should do unless they really feel that way....the mimics are looking like something learned, not very natural....but i got to say, the playing is wonderful

I like everything but the cadenza. Nothing to do with the rest of the concerto and certainly nothing to do with Mozart.
