came here from twoset when Ray said "are you kidding me? Ysaye #6? I don't even remember how that goes-"
I wanted to write the same thing 👍
I watched that yesterday!
holy shit i forgot that
Exactly, the linglingworkout! Guys check it out. :) it’s honestly great
What an incredible interpretation , it’s an honour for our family. Thanks !
Are you Ysaÿe’s descendant?
@@albertomuitofixolas3192 Hola Alberto, si! Es mi tatarabuelo. Un saludo!
@@JYsaye gracias por decírmelo, y por cierto... sou português, não espanhol hahah
Do you know something about him? Maybe something your grandparents told you
@@albertomuitofixolas3192 sure there is a museum where they host his first studio in Liege. We still preserve his memory alive. Obrigado!
@@JYsaye Nice.
"Are you kidding me? Ysaye No.6? I don't even remember how that goes-"
Ling Ling workout…………!!! only twoset fans will know that.
he plays the violin in a way I find unusual and very elegant, he's brilliant
His double stops are so good here. He nails them like it’s nothing.
Tuning at 3:40, mid-piece. What a g.
OH MY GOSH I JUST NOTICED THAT
Ray has perfect pitch, so It would’ve been funny if he said it was 1/64 tone off
3:40
I've actually seen him do it live. It's pretty cool
and he tuned the G string
o my gah!
i just saw him 2day, adn he was AWESOME!!!
i got his cd, got it signed, and i also picked up a bowhair he broke wen he was playin :D
ar u drunk
Musician violin virtuoso (World Class). No question about it. Respect 10+
You have always seen yourself as the best... there really is magic in your hands, when you play the violin, technique, passion, professionalism, talent, what more could you ask for in a musician... congratulations Violinist Ray Chen...
Ray Chen executes violin compositions with intensity and passion!❤🎉
So we are not going to talk about the fact that his little finger is longer than the average middle finger... ok
Tbh I just found that out rn...
Wat the wha-
Thanks for enlightening me I never knew that
And pinky!
bahahaha. someone reccomend i play this, so i clicked on the link, heard it, and my jaw just DROPPED and i was like "phssst, i wish!"
Those double stops are amazingly beautiful (most of the time) - this was a delight to listen to :)
Thanks for lifting the art world a bit higher with this opus.
Goosebumps. God, I love violin.
thts why he won,.....he;s amazing
I can't imagine what that must've been like to hear it in person
at 1:34-1:37 it's obvious Ray is moving even the most stoic of the judges:)
1:34
弦を最後離した後に、そこに大切な音が残っているように見つめる彼が好きだ。
Very musical playing!!
As a member of the NY Philharmonic, or a solo violinist? My gosh, I don't see how someone good enough to be invited to play with the venerable NYPhil could wish they could play like anyone else, no matter how good!
What do you mean?
Lol... I remember a fun vid he made of him practicing the bruch 3rd mvt....he made it seem like it was very difficult for him and then I saw this and was okay sooooo bruch must be soooo easy
This is much much much much harder than bruch
@@johnh6147 are you joking or...
practicboi 40hrs The Bruch is one of the easier violin concertos... Ysaye 6 is much much more technically demanding
@@solstice871 no I was talking a out like sarcasm and stuff
Ling Ling can do this better. But Chen is a good violinist tho.
BakerBea09 what brought you here fam?
@@depressed_marvin twoset's latest 55min long video. I was wondering what do the true Ysaye sonatas sound like. I have come across this and Hillary Hahn's version.
wow marvelous !
He's such an awesome player!!! :D
wow... deeply moved
ANYONE NOTICE HE DIDN"T USE A SHOULDER REST?! SORRY FOR THE CAPTIALS MY KEYBOARD ISNT WORKING
He didn't use a shoulder rest so he can rotate his violin 360 i guess
who's here from 2set? hear this song again LOL
lilypotterhk piece*
SONG?
Me. I had to find out what it really should sound like.
@@1stukrainianfront why lol?
Adrian Li no it’s a piece obviously, it’s a piece of classical music, don’t argue your wrong 😂
very light; bright tone
He is a monster omg...
Watch ray chen's devil's trill concerto
I feel like the video recording here really diminished a lot of Ray's sound quality and smothered the subtle details he portrayed in the performance.
well its from 12 years ago, haha its hardly modern
@@orin4654 i mean it compounded the effect. Other contestants sounded better than Ray from these videos. Something about Ray's playing clashed with the recording equipment and it sounded terrible. I think it has something to do with the inherent imperfections in Ray's technique, which are somewhat equalized by his phrasing/interpretations but nevertheless exaggerated by the audio.
I love eddy
Yes
3:40 tuning in mid song! Crazy :
So technical and Musically superior!!!!
He really merited winning!!!
He overpassed Vengerof!!!
poicpi
What a difference a hair style makes. I'll leave it at that.
This guy's face is fucking intense.
Tis a tense piece and super hard
the piece is intense af
Violin of Lang Lang was born , very talented , expressive and musical accuracy !!!
thats not really a compliment...
+Ickguenthrasil haha omg true
it's a huge compliment, lang lang is one of the best pianists of our time.
+Woo Jin Lee you must be kidding me
+Woo Jin Lee he is one of the most famous pianists of our time*
34 people don't know what a virtuoso is
74 , 7 years later
@gnatural i don't get it ...
:/
U are almost as good as me
@animeaff right :)
🇧🇷 alguém?
HOW THE FUCK IS IT PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE TO PLAY THIS?!
HiacyntusZoilus it isn’t
@@alexanderhan2819 it really isn't
hey keyboard fighter, go play this piece !
Its keyboard warrior, not keyboard fighter
Practice...
144p.. we meet again...
@prestoray
Wicked!
Who here came from Twoset 😂
How can he play so well and it still sound like a strangled cat?
Stay jealous man
Warren Cash because the sound quality of the video is bad
Recording quality
ROFL!! i dont think so.
@TomSuha You need to grow up!
Why not play at least the first bars in rythm? Even Ysaÿe can benefit from a sense stringent rythm.
Well it is an interesting choice of rhythm, but he is the player and he shall choose the rhythm of his choice, but it is young Ray in here so he does have his imperfections.
Amen. The rhythm is written a certain way.
damn i knew he was good but not this good jesus
I got here by typing flat violin playing.
I don't get it
