    The one you were on overtook the other one. Seems very elaborate for a fairly short ride.
    Looks like a fun ride for lift enthusiasts too.

    Schitterend systeem en complex! Ik was er met kerst. Super wat allemaal kan in Luxemburg en bij de CFL. Enige minpunt waren de wc's.

    It seems like a pair of escalators would have done the job, but that wouldn't be nearly as fun as 2 funicular lines next to each other.

    Cooles Video . Ich habe noch nie so eine schnelle Standseilbahn gesehen. Schön auch die direkte Kameraübersicht wie einfach man vom Bahnhof zur Funicular Standseilbahn kommt. Aber etwas ist mir aufgefallen. In einigen Szenen sind die Gesichter der Mitreisenden zu eindeutig zu erkennen. In Deutschland könnte das evtl. große Probleme mit dem Datenschutz geben. Da beides EU Länder sind, empfehle ich den Verfasser des Videos sich da mal genauer zu erkundigen wie das in Luxemburg ist.

    I'm a Japanese railroad fan, but is this probably the fastest cable car in the world that has been certified by the Guinness Record?

    Is there really enough traffic to justify having TWO funicular railways side by side? 🤔

    • @JerryVPolfer
      @JerryVPolfer 4 роки тому +8

      at rush hours yes, it allows people to get out of the train earlier, and go up to the Kirchberg which is full of banks and office buildings, instead of staying in the train until central station, and having to take the bus across the whole city (which is quite small, granted) to get to their workplace

      Nikolaus und Rupprecht yes at peak hours its packed full on both sides every 2 minutes. Outside of rush hour often its not packed, but usually at least like 10 people per trip. And when theres no one, for example by night, only one side is active.

    Great video! Was there a technical fault with the funicular on the right at around 2:20? (it's much slower in just this one shot)

    So they've built an observation deck with a dedicated elevator just for the view? It looks very fancy for it... I hope it's free of charge :D

    • @JerryVPolfer
      @JerryVPolfer 4 роки тому +7

      It is free of charge, as is the funicular. And the rest of all the public transport in Luxembourg (the country) will be made free of charge as of the 1. March 2020

      Haha thats a lift to connect the bottom with a part of the city center. There are a couple banks there and a lot of commuters. For example people who bike to the city from further up north down the valley, so that they dont have to climb up to the city by bike they can take the lift. But yeah they added an observation deck which is an amazing view btw. There is also a small autonomous electric bus in the valley that goes from that lift to the funicular-train-lift station thing, it’s pretty fascinating.

    Je ne comprends pas : une seule voie, qui s'écarterait à mi-distance pour que deux voitures se croisent, ça n'aurait pas suffi ? A Lyon, on a ce genre d'infrastructure, qui permet un important trafic (plus que sur cette vidéo...).

    • @Gi11th
      @Gi11th 4 роки тому +2

      Je ne sais pas quand cette vidéo a été filmée, mais en semaine aux heures de pointe les deux voies et la station sont plein de monde.
