Big Mike here from @MT Homestead, I seen you have some big cedars they make some good fence post. As the are home to a lot of bugs so getting rid of them is a must. There are a lot of people or companies that will pay you for them and the good part is they will do all the work. Just thought I would throw that out there for you. Great property
You guys have me crying at the begining of this vidoe😥..Its hard to say goodbye to yesterday ..but you will still see each other again..only distance my friends💯 glad you made it safe to Arkansa🙏🙏..have a great weekend👍
Nothing better than family circle of prayer. We did that every time we traveled. Now it's just my wife and I but when ever we travel we ALWAY start out with prayer. Our boys still do the same when ever they travel... It's amazing how good values are instilled in us as kids it is carried on through our adulthood... You kids are so blessed praise Jesus...
First of all, welcome to Arkansas. It was a treat to see you drive through towns where my people live. You drove right past the home where my grandfather was born in 1915 when you went to the top of Mt. Magazine. That growth on the tree is lichens not mushrooms. If you see mushrooms growing on a tree there is rot inside the tree.
Saying goodbyes are always hard, but like your Momma said, God opened this door for all of you cause it's the right time and right move! Embrace it all! Now first thing this city girl noticed is you need a gorilla cart not that the baby's toy truck didn't help but imagine the help a new cart could provide. You can also attach it to your 4wheeler when needed. I love mine! It's like a second arm in my case!! I'm so happy for you guys!! God bless!!
Oh man yall had me crying my eyes out. I truly know how yall felt , my mom and my brother lives in Florida and i live in Louisiana they come down and visit and stay for like 2 months then when its time for them to head back to Florida its hard and it hurts. Its been 4 years since I seen my mom and brother. My mom health is bad and she is going blind. And my brother doesn't know how to drive. Thankyou you guys for the new video. We love you all. Yall all take care and be safe.
Suggestion: When felling a tree, cut the V lower on the tree. THEN, make the second cut toward the middle of the V. You'll never have to push it. It will fall on it's own. Love your family...I've been watching from the desert, the selection of your new Arkansas land, and I pray for yall, yes, we say yall, Welcome to the South. You will find neighbors help neighbors, and most every one is friendly.
Welcome to Arkansas Family!! So excited to see you build your homestead from scratch, your future house, your future animals, future gardens,I know it’s exciting for you and your family!!
My first time watching your channel and I love how close you all are as a family. And the part that really touched me was the way you grabbed hands and prayed. God has you in his heart and will keep you safe on your new journey. Amazing things ahead for you. I will subscribe to follow you in your new life.
Hopefully it just draws them closer to him ☝🏼. We are definitely not perfect believers, but hes loves us just the same. Hope you're having a great day today!
I must admit this Grandma cried with your mom.I love your family I pray that all your family will be able to move out there with you all. Loved the family prayer. Be Blessed
I'm not gonna lie,, i found myself also crying at the start of this video. The girls broke my heart!!! And the true adventure has begun!! Love you guys ❤🏆😁🤙🍺🍺
This was the greatest most fulfilling video of yall! God was definitely pointing you guys in a direction of happiness, beauty and peace! Awesome video!!!!!!!
Love how your Momma prayed for you and your family Melanie. And glad that you're close to your family. That's wonderful.....that's how it should be. Prayers for your continued success in your new life. Safety and Good health.
As you get started cutting trees, I have given this lots of thought, keep in mind that longer logs will work to built fences, and some yard furniture. The small stuff can be used in the fire. The Hollar Homestead made great tree slabs for raised garden beds from some of his logs. In the 70's we used to get cords and cords of firewood each season, pine, pinion pine...yes with our chainsaws. But you have some great hardwoods there!! If you cut those two stumps the same height, you could make them into a bench or a tabletop.
Oh my goodness what a precious, precious video! It just showed up in my feed, I guess I just needed to see how far you guy's have really come. I have been following since you were digging footers, and I LOVE you all!! I just haven't ever taken the time to go back. I am so glad this showed up! I came over from CRC as they left Vagas. Any way... ALL the feels. Saying goodbye. Gary cutting the first tree and how appreciative he was for your cooking. The kids! How excited they were, how they've grown. Now I want to vege out from the beginning, beginning... Such an awesome family. Enjoy watching your journey. ❤
My sister and her family left for the north woods of Wisconsin to run a fishing resort in 1975. I cried for a month just like your parting. Its hard to part with your hearts so far apart but I have a feeling that your mom and the littles will be moving to your property at some point. So proud of you two. You've got guts and thats what it takes to make your dreams come true.God bless you!
Had to go back and see the beginning. Y'all have come so far in such a short time. I happy for and proud of what Y'all are building towards your family legacy. Keep on keep'n on! Thanks for also introducing Country Road Cure and C'mon Homesteading to me as well. God Bless all of you!!!
That’s too funny! My kids give me crap when we’re doing firewood! They say they are doin the hard work and I’m just cutting the wood that takes no energy at all! 😂
When I look back at this video I'm so amazed at everything you accomplished! At the part of you and the kids at the pond is why. You're absolutely incredible!
Wow, ya'll are making it home. The children are wonderful helpers. A happy family making a new start. I have no doubts, you will make your dreams come true.
Lol ! What a fabulous head of hair ! We love your channel… genuine hard working people are the most interesting to watch….awesome kids. Good luck with the future. Very ballsy move..

Welcome to the south y’all! I hope he is carrying a weapon when you go out into the woods. There’s bear, wild hogs, snakes and big cats out there. A pew pew is a necessity in the woods. I wish I was y’all’s age again and could homestead. My best memories of my childhood were of my grandparents off grid home. We went there every weekend and sometimes weeks in the summer so my dad could help out around the farm. My grandmother washed clothes in a large washtub and used us grandkids to take turns stepping on the clothes to get them clean. One tub was for washing and another for rinsing I got think she made her own detergent but the clothes were probably cleaner than today’s machines. She had a hand cranked wringer for after we were done and would wring them out and then use a clothes line. Ready cool, I m a year late to comments on your greatest memories. You are a good guy to remember all those memories. Bless you and your grandma. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, my. I didn't realize that you lived right across the road from your mom. And the two older girls -- are they your older children, Mel, or are they your sisters? I can't imagine how hard it must be to move away from close family like that. I loved your mom's prayer for you as you were getting ready to leave. May God bless you in your new home/new land/ new endeavors.
No. The older two girls (and older boy not in this video) are my nephew and nieces that we helped to raise with my parents since they were babies. Were all really close. At times I filled the roll as mom, others as cool aunt, and others and big sister. It's all love around here. Weve gotten this question a lot. More details will come another time when all parties can speak for themselves. 🤗
Ya had me tearing up, there😥 your heart felt parting and prayers were very special. Those girl were so cute, reminds me of my granddaughter with big glasses!

Stacking your wood on a pallet will keep your wood off the ground and provide ventilation underneath. Pallets can be gotten for free by the dumpsters of some businesses. Also to keep your chainsaw out of the dirt a LOG LIFTER or a LOG OX is a good tool to use. I've also used my Log Lifter for pulling rocks out and the roots of invasive honeysuckle.

Off to a running start...yippee! Great dance, Gary...so glad you are being cautious with your new saw "toy"...grin. Hint for woodpile: stack 2 logs horizontally on the ends, then vertically in between...helps keep pile secure, so wood doesn't 't tumble like an avalanche ;) (thanks dad for teaching us that useful tip...miss ya)
Now you need to put a filter on the hose ,little house off grid uses two filters on his water supply. He was lucky enough to have a well on his property.
loved this video. glad to see that you made it. still praying for you all. can't wait till country core gets out there. did watch the live replay. this one filled in the gaps. hope you had a good day.

I was born and raised in Arizona. I’ve never been more than 30 mins from my mom and dad. They lived right next do to me for the last 5 years. But God led them to Arkansas 5 months ago and I’m still so very sad. I’d love to move back east. I’m just praying and waiting for God to open our doors.
Was glad to see the dogs I was worried that you had to get rid of her thank God you didn’t have to

New to your channel! Welcome to Arkansas! I live in Fort Smith! Love the area you are in! Much love and peace to you all! 🙏♥️

Oh man how exciting to say the last goodbyes. Sorry I have been absent for the last bit
