If things ever seem out of control or overwhelming in this new adventure. Don't hesitate to reach out and ask for help. The wonderful thing about Arkansas is that people still help each other.
Umm depends on where you are. Go slow. Been here in at for over 15 years and only know the neighbors across the road. Most are friendly enough to waive. But most move out to be left alone
I don’t know about Arkansas, but in many states, you can look under leaf litter at the bottom of trees, and often find red wiggler earth worms, which is almost a guaranteed successful fish bait!
Wecome to Arkansas! We too moved to north-central AR to enjoy the beautiful scenery, the friendliest & most helpful people on earth, and one of the best climates in the nation. Good for you, creating a lifestyle that will be fulfilling & satisfying for your family!
Ticks are out. My husband already got one buried in on his inside thigh. I'm in Paris, AR. Welcome to Arkansas. My son a few years got Lyme disease, he was treated twice with antibiotics. Check your hair and your body everyday. And keep a close watch on your pets too. 🐈⬛🐶🙏🏕
We’re moving from Michigan to Arkansas next year. Unfortunately I’m well versed in Lyme disease. I’ve had it for 24 years. I’m excited about moving though!
Great job Guys, remember when you have a lot of rain it hard to catch fish because so many of things in the pond muddy. but, it always a fun time for the kids
Look for standing dead timber , stuff u can almost just push down . That way once you burn it it burns right away. Fresh cut timber still wet wont burn right.
Considering they are going to have 2 families on the property, might be a good idea if they cut anything green to make it into lumber & firewood for winter. They could seperate green firewood from dry & try to season the lumber a bit before needing it for building. 2-3 yrs would be a better length of time to season hardwood for firewood, which they are going to need a lot of to get 2 families through next winter.
I have been watching your family for a very long time now and I just love you and am so happy for you. Enjoyed the two of you enjoying your children and each other.. I know that you have worked so hard so take your time and enjoy life.. I have been married to my husband for 52 years come this September and I have to say life has never been boring..never....
We had Owls Hawks and Coyotes in AZ too. Our animals are pretty predator savvy BUT we Always have to keep a close eye on the animals for sure. We have them be outside all day, but Dogs sleep in 5th wheel with us at night, cats sleep in Horse Trailer.
Some advice from a fellow Arkie is to go to Wal-Mart and purchase some Permathrin and put it on your kids clothes to keep the ticks which will be out soon! Trim all the limbs away from your trails so the kids won’t rub them the seed ticks live there and will cover you up if you don’t take a few precautions!
I am not sure how to post a screen shot in UA-cam but just google Permathrin Wal-Mart and you will see it. Get the aerosol works much better. Do not get on the skin. It will last up to 2 weeks on clothing.
Please be persistent with tic treatment and spray on your shoes or boots 🥾 I learned the hardware got tic disease was so sick look up symptoms and be watching treatment is about two weeks antibiotics ❤️
Just found you. Grew up in Arkansas. Check your dogs for ticks everyday and your kids watch for Copperhead snakes. They are everywhere. You will love this wilderness.
Congrats!!! We lived in Southern Missouri for 2 year, loved it. Fishing out there is best very early in the morning and just before dark. Your not to far from Jim scotts animal auction too, best auction around when you guys get livestock... Fun place just to bring the kids too, they sell anything from monkeys to zebras. Brace yourselves for storms, flooding, 80 mph gusts were very common and tornado warnings are pretty normal too.... Storm shelter is a must out there... Good luck , take one little step at a time
Again, welcome to Arkansas. I see you have alot of work cut out for you. But you look like can do people. Much luck and stay safe. Praying for you and your family.
Very enjoyable first weekend on the 41.36. You guys are looking more relaxed. The kids and the kritters are settling in well. We're supposed to have snow tomorrow but how much depends on who you watch. Love you all. God bless and stay safe 🙏❤💙
The kids seem to be adjusting very well. I would love to live in the woods. I'm so happy for you guys and I'm looking forward to seeing your journey beginning!! It's absolutely beautiful there. God bless you all. ❤
A dock would awesome to fish from. Most of those ponds have bluegill unless someone stocked it. You can get catfish at Tractor Supply Stores, they have a truck that comes every week.
I am so looking forward to finding a piece of unrestricted land this next week in Tennessee...wish us luck! I love seeing your kids having such a good time with each other!
That sounds awesome Tennessee is a great homesteading state. My daughter lives there. Wow, property has gone up so much in the last five years. I’ve been looking at property there too.
If you find some dead trees, cut them down for some good dry wood. Also, because it rains, cover your wood up with tarp to keep it dry. Glad you got some business done but yes, definitely enjoy yourself too. Don't want to burn yourself out right away. I know being in the woods is a lot of work.
Oh man that fishing looks like fun! When we fish with our kids we usually spend most of our time untangling poles and fetching lures out of the trees! 😂
Things have been nuts all over the US. However, it seems everything is getting alot worse and very quickly!! Advice from me would be to prep as fast and as much as possible at this time. A large shed to store food and a separate shed to house your generators. Huge numbers of people are leaving NY city. Meanwhile, bus loads of immigrants are being shipped north. Big time shit is going to hit the fan and we All had better be prepared. On a good note, this video was very cool LOL😎🤙
@@143tinaed Mr Ed, apparently the mass shootings, rioting, mile long food lines and so on isnt concerning to you but its scary as hell to smart people. Go stick your head back in the sand and pretend nothing is wrong.

Get loads of vasoline filled cotton balls to use as your fire starters...one to two balls is all you need to get fire started even with wet stuff as long as your using your kindling and small stuff. Glad y'all are getting setteled in good.
What a fun time you are having. Just look about for branches on the ground they keep a nice fire for light while watching what wild life is roaming at night. Happy trails from New Hampshire
How awesome that y’all are near Booneville! We are in Mansfield, have some friends in Booneville, and are frequently in that area. Hope to meet y’all someday soon! Welcome to Arkansas!
Y’all are doing AWESOME! I especially love seeing your babies do all the things! Playing in the mud, catching bugs, roasting hotdogs over the fire. Savor these moments with your babies y’all, they are fleeting.❤️

There is so much that you will need to learn about your new habitat. It's completely different from AZ, hopefully you will acclimate quickly. The webs are indeed tent caterpillar nests. They probably don't make the best bait. I seem to recall that they don't have a lot of predators, other than birds, because they taste terrible. Never having sampled them personally, I really can't say. I imagine that you will be getting some sort of poultry, chickens, duck and guinea hens or peafowl, which will help control their population and also ticks. I know that you have lots of projects, but cleaning up the brush around the pond would make fishing easier for the kids. I wouldn't remove it all, just enough that their fishing lines won't get tangled in it as easily. Don't know how deep or clean (I imagine that it's pretty clean) your pond is, but having a place to swim/bathe would save on showers.
found your last video and was hooked no really great that you guys are moving forward with your life weve got about five to seven years until were retired and will be in arkansas soon for a visit...
Back in Virginia, we would get those tent caterpillars up in a tree. We would just set fire to the nest cuz otherwise that tree would be destroyed by the end of the season and they would just move to the next tree.
Split the logs so they burn faster. Do you have a light that recharges from solar? Having that running at night might help. The 3 kids are so cute and sweet. I take my grown kids and grandkids fishing.
Still stuck in LV 😢 planned a trip to go a looking for the same thing. Had some down falls, so... hoping 2022 will be my year!!! 🙏🙏🙏 y’all are going to be just fine 😇😘
Look for ticks! I agree... owls can pick up a chicken so easy. We have hawks and owls always eyeing our chickens. We built a chicken house and a very large run with chicken wire and plastic netting. All are safe. We have lived in the Ozarks for about 50 years. What a great adventure for your family. Your doing a job! And pacing yourself is necessary. 😊🌲🌳🏞🐿🐇🦝🪵🦅🕸🕷🐜🦟🦉🐸🐭🐷👩👦👨👧👦 Also essential oils can replace chemicals to protect against ticks chiggers and other pests. Better for your health. Welcome to Arkansas. The web worms will become moths. One web can have over 100 fuzzy worms. great to see your kiddo's fishing, digging in the mud, roasting hot dogs on an open fire
Not sure about Arkansas but here in Alberta Canada we watch our small dogs and cats because of owls/hawks/coyotes
When we first moved to the country we lost a cat and a terrier to coyotes. Lesson learned. Owls are bad about carrying off our outside cats.
We had Owls Hawks and Coyotes in AZ too. Our animals are pretty predator savvy BUT we Always have to keep a close eye on the animals for sure. We have them be outside all day, but Dogs sleep in 5th wheel with us at night, cats sleep in Horse Trailer.
Lots of bobcats in your area, sure will get the small animals. Good luck to y'all. I live in Greenwood west of your property.
Well here in Texas we have Sasquatch who will beat all your predators butt!!!!
😂 😂 😂
Yep owls hawks and coyotes eat a lot of outdoor pets here in Arkansas. We have a hawk that hangs around our yard so I built our cats an outside pen .
Please look up hobo packets!!!! They're amazing, versatile, and easy to make on the fire!!!!!
So effin awesome!!! I’m so happy for y’all...
