Shorter lines reduce the size of the wind window, but I find it easier to see and feel the small details of what the kite is doing. They also open up the possibility of 3D moves. Longer lines are better for creating larger shapes in the sky, and they provide a big window to perform them in. I always use longer lines when I want to fly precise patterns, like the Club 38 levels.
Great to hear from you, Adrian! I love the vented spiders; they give me that same manic vibe as the old Rev 2, but with loads more stability. I'm finding that the fully vented models (which I initially believed were ultra-niche) are the ones I gravitate to the most. The first Rev I bought when I got back into the hobby was the non-vented XX, which feels like a luxury car, and can do impressive stuff, but I just didn't get along with it. I want an illegal sports car, not a Bentley!
@@__revbox - Great analogy, and that the spider is perfect fit! Interesting how a particular model just gels with one’s skill and need for excitement. My only Rev is an SLE from 2007 which I modified to have home-made “reflex” - that makes it more usable in tricky conditions - but the spider looks to be (and your skill!) in a different league I have to say. Outside my current budget though.
@@imcharlesincharge No problem! The Super Spider and Blast are very different. The Super Spider is built for strong winds, it retains a light wind feel even when the wind picks up. It doesn't float or glide as well as the models with more sail area, but it slides sideways and reverses better. It's a great kite for when you want a light feel in stronger winds (10-25 MPH). The Blast is like two kites in one, resulting from the two sets of leading edge spars included: With the "Heavy" leading edge, the Blast is fast, it pulls hard and it slides sideways better than the RX and XX models. It moves differently and is very much its own thing in this mode. It prefers large moves on longer lines, and it has a wide wind range (up to 25 MPH). Turns and stops feel heavy and deliberate, you really need to put some muscle into nailing sharp clock turns and stops. With the "Light" leading edge installed (up to 10 MPH), the Blast's handling changes. It feels lighter, turns and stops are sharper, and it glides and floats amazingly well. It feels more like a XX in this configuration, but with better sideways sliding. I prefer to fly on shorter lines in this configuration as the kite leans towards smaller, intricate moves, and 3D floats and glides at the edge of the wind window. If you want a good all-rounder that delivers the classic Revolution feel, I'd recommend the XX Super Tarantula (5-25 MPH). Unlike the RX Super Spider, the XX Super Tarantula maintains enough sail area to fly in light winds. I've flown this kite in next to no wind: ua-cam.com/video/DjfhbHeuUAk/v-deo.html
@@__revbox thank you so much bro! I appreciate your feedback.. I'll go for the super tarantula and if I get my money right I'll buy the blast as well!! Looking forward to seeing more post bro!!
I am having trouble pulling the trigger for $600+ kite. Meaning the tarantula, travel rod and shipping. 😢
Epic Flight ! I got Revolution since yesterday and i have to learn much 😂 Can you tell me the Name of that Band or Songname please ?
Thanks a lot. All details are in the video description. The song is "Ice Cold" produced by OPEN TIMBZ.
Love ALL your videos! Excellent touch and feel. ✌️ ❤️ 🪁
Would I be correct that the 30 foot lines seem to have better control than standard 60 foot lines..

Very nice! The spider versions, a case of less (sail) is more of everything else!

Hope the rain will stop here, then I’m out on the field again as well ✌🏻
Great to hear from you, Mateo! I'm in the same boat, it's been raining nonstop lately, but things are looking better.

The steering of this kite drove me crazy so often 😅 do you have a "how to" video too?
@@fuelbasti Thanks for watching. In terms of tutorials; what would you like to see?
@@__revbox Thanks for asking. Well, all these stop motion moves. Or how to fly in reverse mode?? Loved this kite but was not able to make progress ...
Nice flying bro
Thanks, bro! Hoping to get more recorded soon ^^
how long is your line set here bro?
I was flying with 9 metres/30 feet.
Thanks bro! I'm in between the super spider or the blast stunt kite.. I do have experience flying 4 line kites by the way. Please help lol
