I would've liked to animate the character to make it come alive, I didn't have the time to do so, but I'm extremely happy with how it turned out, regardless of that. The look and color grade is just so nice. It's almost as if you can "taste" the colors, if you get what I mean hehe :). So PLEASE, help LIKING this video because it really deserves it, imo that is :)Take care and have a lovely day!🔺NOTE: If you want to support my work, please feel free to leave a very much appreciated donation: ko-fi.com/spacewavecosmicrela.... To date, Rutger Hauer still has the best performance acting as an android in any film. Miss him!!
he was believable that is all that can be asked of an actor
When did he play an android? I luv rutger and mustve missed that one
@@TOAOM123 Blade Runner brother
Truth❤
We all miss him. :(
Never expected an image of an aged Roy Batty would be that touching.
for real. You can feel it.
Agreed. It's all he ever wanted.
“I’ve… seen things you people wouldn’t believe… Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-Beams glitter in the dark Near the Tannhäuser Gates. All those… moments… will be lost in time, Like tears… in… rain. Time… to die…”
Thank you for posting this wonderful atmospheric video.
Thank you...gives me goosebumps everytime
@@rhondaeiser1771 And to think, Rudger came up with these lines himself. The man was a genius...
Now…approaching age 54. Those words take on a whole new dimension… than they did watching it in the 80s as a naive kid to the world. All of our moments are going to be lost in time. How scary. Sad and profound
What’s amazing is that I have seen this film on cable on my grandparents’ TV, on VHS in the 1980’s, on DVD when those were a huge improvement from VHS, on Blu-ray, and finally on 4K Blu-ray on a 4K Sony Bravia. And each time, I notice new things.
How little we know about the world of Blade Runner... pitiful scraps
The image looks as if Roy survived and aged, carrying the weight of all he's seen and lost. Stuck in a world he was never meant to be in.
Exactly.
Он падапил свой голос главному герою игры Observer. И для меня это больше похоже на усталого полицейского.
In a parallel universe, Roy Batty found a way to extend his lifespan many years, but still felt empty…this is outstanding! Both the music and art are just phenomenal. Bravo!
Perhaps he faked his death, that's why he left Deckard alive. Here, older and tired from a day's work, he remembers Pris and Leon and Zhora and he's surprised, a bit annoyed but also pleased that he's sad about it.
I think the point of the movie was the opposite of him feeling empty. I think he was one of the most full and human characters of the entire story. He wanted to live a long life because he's seen so many wonderful and terrible things. he appreciated life the way the nobody in that city did. looks like he has a bit of a smirk in this image to me like he's looking back on his life in nostaliga
Or, he lived long enough to miss the departed in his second, or third, life.
Roy wasn't bad, just misunderstood.
@Lino Santiago He is fighting for his and his friends lives and willing to do anything save them.
Still vividly remember seeing this as a 14 year old kid back in 1982.What a fantastic and amazing experience it was.
Never saw a future world presented like this on screen.
Still my favorite Sci fi movie of all time.
I just lose myself in it.
RIP Rutger Hauer...he saw things you people wouldn't believe.
"Every villain is just the broken hero..."
-Obito Uchiha (Naruto Shippuden)
He saw worlds on the isthmus of Orion.
And yet, replicants were more human than people.
This is true.

@@xahardex Thank you. I hope you're doing well too. It's sometimes helpful to take medication but you need to have a doctor who's closely involved in what the meds are doing. Once again, wishing you the best .
RIP Rutger Hauer. Roy Batty is, in my opinion, one of the (if not the) most understandably sympathetic antagonists in movie history. I would not call him a villain, in fact, I am hesitant to even call him an antagonist. All of that aside. This is just so wonderful. I have listened to this while working and while studying for exams. It is so calming, relaxing, and helps me focus. You capture the mood, essence, spirit, feeling, and all of that of the Blade Runner universe, and in deed, the entire cyberpunk genre. Thank you
Appreciate your comment Nicholas :)
Just wanted more...time.
Yes, Roy Batty was the hero of the film!! Imagine you were a replicant and you found out you only had 4 years to live. What would you do? Don't be so quick to judge. All he wanted was more life. THIS is why we need a prequel story focused on Roy's life from inception. In his dying monologue, he revealed an incredible past. That would shine a light on his true character. Take a person's life out of context and you can misjudge very easily.
He was a kind of anti-hero
@@rayunited2010foryou He is a foil. The definition of a foil is a character used by writers to contrast or reflect another character - often your protagonist (main character)- by highlighting their traits, appearance, personality or morals. Roy is the contrast to Deckard.
Blade Runner 1982 is a movie that will stay in my mind and heart forever. Watching it now, in the present time, makes it even better, and if you're someone who loves movies, you will appreciate it 10 times more. It has something that it can never be replaced by today's world. Don't know, call me nostalgic, but it truly has that " something." So sad that Rudger Hauer passed away. I like to think that maybe he is in a universe we're blade runner is actually real. R.I.P. and thank you for this music.
Look up explanations of the flick, it's a deep movie.
Rutger Hauer, the Vangelis soundtrack and Syd Mead's design made what would otherwise be a so-so movie with significant plot defects into arguably the best sci-fi film ever made. Hauer came up with the Tears in Rain speech the night before the final take. Without that, the film would have been OK, but ultimately forgettable.
@@Ardwick-Crome Very true.
I agree with you, mate. I have watched it recently and I was mesmerized by how beautiful it still is.
I knew I'd love the film just based on a still image I saw on a encyclopaedia! (very 90s way of learning about things). Then I saw the film and knew I'd been right. Roy Batty was oddly attractive to 15 year old me, I didn't knew yet that I would have soft spot for scifi villains. Amazing film, music, visuals, story, characters, everything.
"Like tears in the rain."
I could cry
Rutger Hauer was such an underrated actor. He was always good in everything he did, not the least of which was Blade Runner. RIP, good Sir.

Honestly, when Roy gave that speech at the end,it was as though there was love in his heart! It's because he loved life ssoo much.its tough for me to call with people that have no gratitude. I think this is why i loved Roys speech so much!
RIP Rutger Hauer. Thank You for giving us such fantastic performances in Blade Runner and in the rest of your movies as well.
His death scene in bladerunner is still one of the greatest scenes of all time. I get chills even thinking about it while listening to this music.
An alternate ending where he gets to grow old, love it!
My first thought to . This really is good stuff .
But..he was a homicidal killing machine ...
At this age he would've surely murdered thousands more ..i mean anyone who beat him at chess, or ..i mean damn Roy Batty was nuts!? And not to mention he just would've resurrected the old gang, Leon, and Zora and ..mmm ..Priss
The ending was perfect bc, at the end, Roy comprehended that lifes' value was a product of its fleeting nature. So, this alternate ending would "kill" one of the main themes the film was meant to convey.
It's still cool to see, and who knows, with age comes knowledge, perhaps he would have grown to be more than just an empty killing machine, after all he was only about 3 years old in the film, would you say that you knew the value of life at such a young age?
with dead pigeon and rusty nail in hand
Rutger Hauer's adlib " these memories lost forever like tears in the rain "
I also think he gets a little "the" in there...
More then 3 years after his passing, I finally heard about it and feel deeply sorry and sad. His final speech in Blade Runner was just breath taking and moved me in ways difficult to put in words.
He will be missed and remembered!!!
I heard it was improvised
I downloaded this into mp3 and play it while I'm driving on the highway.
It always lulls me right to sleep, but then the scream of my bus passengers wakes me up again.
Good one! 😂
Today i was making some modifications to our childhood house, it's pretty old for this country (1913), when finally i tear appart an old blocked door that divides one bedroom from another, i found an old plastic pog with an image of Princess Peach on it, it was my sister's. She told me she remembered the day she lost it, it was her favorite one. That little toy traveled 30 years from her small white hands to me, her older bitter brother, the one that used to take care of her and watch her sleep, the one that put himself between she and Dad to block the leather lashes that he used to gave us. Im saving it for her, like a real treasure.
That mood. That feel. This music NAILS IT. If Vangelis was here today, he would approve of this message that you have shared with all of us.
My Dude, another night shift. It's raining outside, the rains hits the roof of my car. Your fresh upload will be a great addition for tonight! So as always thank You! 😊
R.I.P. Rutger Hauer, you beautiful Dutch Phoenix. 🔥 ❤
This song is as cold as this rain that falls on Roy Batty. You can feel this rain without getting wet. I remember the first time I watched Blade Runner as a kid. TV liked to show this movie at dawn, a few hours before morning. After watching this film I was never the same, the melancholy contained in it fascinated me. The whole movie takes place at night, and when it ends, the final credits are always accompanied by the first rays of sunlight on a cold morning.
All sorts of slightly hidden, meaningful points in this movie.
I saw it in the theatre. I was about 12 and was never the same.
@@arthurchadwell9267that must have been incredible
As I sat there in the alleyway, the steady rain was a symphony to my ears. I thought about my 4 year lifespan and how my end was rapidly approaching. Had I lived one single day? Would I leave an impression on this dirty blue planet, or would I be another footnote in the exploits of that Blade Runner, hunting me because I dared to exist?
Thanks so much for uploading this. It truly captures the essence of Vangelis while being a creation of your own.
I imagined Roy Batty narrating that but in Harrison Ford's reluctant and bored voice-over style. Great read with the music

When I was 11 years old I watched Blade Runner for the first time on VHS in a terrible copy it was 1991, I had to watch this movie several times to understand it. I felt sorry for the replicants because they only had a few years to live. Shorter than the life of a fly, more than the flutter of a butterfly's wings. At least when we are born, we learn to walk, then go through life and finally leave this world.

Blade Runner!
Arguably the best sci-fi of all time.
Love the art work and soundtrack👏
agreed! arguably shockingly literally overrated!
Absolutely true. The director's cut, without the PI voiceover, is my favorite film.
The harmony of symbols and philosophical issues in Blade Runner is majestic and brings a depth to the film that transcends celluloid: it makes it an artistic paradigm of the story of human existence.
It doesn't freaking rain in Nepal and is very hot but this music gives me feelings of standing alone on a rainy street. Thanks for uploading!
WHAT A GREAT IMAGE! So much emotion, like he went back to the set as an older man to think about the experience and what it all meant...
Roy didn't die, and he became just an old man haunted by his memories
Roy Batty. So relatable. I could be this old man, wondering where my life went and why I made the decisions I did. At least Roy Batty got to see C-Beams glitter in the dark at Tanhauser Gate....What a moment in time that would've been!
There will never be another's performance like Rutgers haur in the end of a film like blade runner

"Too bad she won't live! But... Who does?"

I feel you, Roy. I feel you.
For my MA thesis in literature I wrote about human identity in the oeuvre of Philip K. Dick and relied heavily on Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Synthesized from his many books and short stories, empathy is the divisive factor in what makes one person a human-being and someone else an android. Who is who is never set in stone in Dick's work and that's beautifully translated into Blade Runner, one of the few movies Dick had a creative say in. Like so many talented people he died way too young, but fortunately left us with an incredible legacy. Thanks for sharing this amazing soundtrack!
This is my current favorite ambiance video on UA-cam. Nicely done!

As much as the music superbly encapsulates the atmosphere and aesthetic of the films, THAT visual work of Roy grown old (the "What if?") generates soo many questions.
Is this life worth living?
What is life without friends?
Am I truly alone?
Will someone ever show me kindness instead of fear & disgust?
Should I just end it all or carry on?
How did I get so tired?
Will humanity ever learn from it's mistakes?
Can I just be left alone?
Why was I created? Was it solely for war? Can I change my own purpose?
Why have I not found more meaning to my existence?
I could go on but I will shut up.
GREAT WORK all round :D
