Among the world's largest science centers, the Museum of Science engages millions of people each year to the wonders of science and technology through interactive exhibitions, digital programs, giant screen productions, and preK - 12 EiE® STEM curricula through the William and Charlotte Bloomberg Science Education Center. Established in 1830, the Museum is home to such iconic experiences as the Theater of Electricity, the Charles Hayden Planetarium, and the Mugar Omni Theater. The flairs are so strong that in some parts of the world, bluetooth is crackling, old electronics are struggling to turn on, and wireless mouse and keyboards are not registering clicks.... also I have had a migraine this whole time, sun needs to calm.
Also, if you think you see something, take pictures. You will see more with longer exposures. There may be more going on than you realize.
Can confirm!
Faintly saw the aurora and took pics. When I got home, they were clear as day!
...Then again, I alsp got pics of a very bright aurora. Those were still way better than my eyes though!
That's a great skywatching tip!
I went out to see the Aurora tonight. Pretty awesome to see
I missed the aurora we had yesterday
It's the 11th today. We're all good here in NZ 🇳🇿.
Power grid had issues where I am, where in NZ are you?
@@robopie3 Auckland City...
I was a hatet of physics, but 5 years ago I started studying at only 7, now Physics and science is my life
Good to see that I'm not the only one who hears the music 🙂
Aura is soooooo cool and cute
OMG THANKYOU SO MUCH!
Seen it in southern Mississippi the night before last.
Be prepared because the flares if powerful enough can shutdown the power grid. Lookup the 1859 Carrington Event, a massive solar event that disrupted the communication for a week.
I hope thay we were alright, just like last time.
Those blackout will help with having a black sky, use it! tho keep your phone loaded before this!!!
How long is going to stay or how long the impacts like no power etc will stay when this all will finish
NOAA predicts that the geomagnetic storm will last through the weekend and maybe into next week.
And one more thing like how long will the cause of it will last I have to go to my country in July will I be able to go
Wait so if I missed out on the aurora tonight i still have a chance?
You still have a chance!
@@museumofscience I live in slovakia and I only saw it once for a little while in the past 3 days
The sun needs to get serious about it.
ARE WE SUPPOSED TO BE SCARED??????????? IM SCARED????????????? SHOULD I?????????? AM I??????????
Don't worry! Solar flares can't wipe out humans, but they can have an affect on electricity and power systems. Nothing to worry about x
Respectfully, are you asking someone else to tell you how to feel about something we can’t control, that if it killed us we wouldn’t be around to care about? ✌🏽😇 Have a fearless day! ☮️
The worst we can expect is some power blackouts. Nothing should have terribly long-term consequences.
Don't fear it's okay it's beautiful just protect yourself from UV very energetic feeling!
Look outside at night, take the darkest and clearest route available if you travel late, and look to the north. Then, dim all lights, and turn your phone brightness as low as it'll go. If you see anything, open camera and get some pics, but also... wait a while and see if it brightens up.
That's how I got some sick pics over here in Nevada! Also... don't worry too much, o fellow anxious one. As everyone said, most it'll do is down a few satellites and muck with the grid a little. If your town goes dark at night, oh well! Take a hurricane lamp, don some bug spray, and go outside.
yeah but i live in florida and the sky is flooded to the ozone with streetlight so i didnt see ANYTHING.
Is it safe to fly?
It is still safe to fly!
i don't want load shedding
Nah the sun not that’s enough for the sun right 😅
So the next big flare could take us all out😢 now i know why things werent working good today
Nah they cant kill us

It’s not 5 flyers but 7 ✌️
“Tizzy”?
W i saw the aurora
One of those thats a bit too spicy and all your cryptocurrency is gone forever.
Its weak. Look up Dr Robert Schoch and what happened 12,000 years ago approximately
Saying that all jolly 😭
IM SORRY BUT WITH ALL RESPECT HOW ARE YOU SMILING WHEN CLAIMING THE SUN IS GETTING MORE DANGEROUS.... (i died young but at least i saw a smiling face)
Solar flares can't destroy life on earth, but can potentially cause power black outs
I was also taken aback, but now I’ve got “She Blinded Me with Science” in my head, and I’m smiling right along too…a big ole SOLAR powered grin!! 🌞❤️🔥✌🏽😁
