Punisher is one of my fav characters of all time.
For anyone who loves the punisher from the Netflix shows, please read the garth ennis punisher run and you most likely won't be dissapointed! ✌️
Never knew who Punisher was when I first watched season 2. After seeing Berthal's performance, I went straight to the Max comics

@@Vicksage16 He's more of an anti hero rather than a villain since he literally kills villains but i guess that's debatable and is seen as someone else by different people.
@@Temple277 yeah, we’d have to agree to disagree on that one, lol. There’s no way I could bring myself to call him anything but villain, personally. Fantastic character though!
Another fun fact, I’m not entirely sure, but I know Jon Bernthal, when he plays The Punisher he distances himself from his family for a few weeks, then he drives to set with his dad and his 2 pit bulls… I think that dog maybe Jon Bernthals dog, or he adopted it after filming, definitely heard something about Jon and that dog
Foggy is amazing friend to Matt. This is how men talk to each. We love our friends but sometimes need the harsh truth because we want to see our friends succeed. Foggy and Karen are amazing to I love their character development. Jon did amazing job as Frank Castle aka The Punisher. Frank doesn't haven't power he is just very well-trained combat vet with a dire hatred for vile criminals. Yes, concussions can cause equilibrium issues, headaches, etc., but Matt's are more intense.
Well just to make it clear, Matt IS a firm believer and that's very important to his character and his progression, both in the comics and this show. Something I'm afraid Disney in today's climate will shy away from. Hope I'm wrong though.
Why are you afraid?
I don't think they shy away from it, he goes to confession and talks to a priest regularly in the show itself. He isn't shown going to church every Sunday or some of the other ritualistic aspects of it but they don't have to go all that deep into it for you to get the idea that he believes.
Well Disney already tried to downplay Moon Knight's jewish background as much as they could so it wouldn't surprise me if in Daredevil born again it'll be a similar situation. Although I didn't watch Ms Marvel so I don't know how well they handled her faith.

I do like the way this show eases you into a sympathetic relationship with the Punisher. Because we don't know his overall motivation at this stage of the story, they drip feed you little instances of his strong moral boundaries to keep you interested in him as a person.
Jon Bernthal (Punisher) is also one the play as Shane in The Walking Dead.

People like to say they’d do the same thing as Punisher and kill criminals, but it is never easy to kill someone. Even if they’re a criminal. It hurts your conscience terribly. If it’s easy for you to kill someone, you have a huge problem.
Midnight Sons is a group with Blade, Punisher, Moon Knight, Ghost Rider that handled supernatural terrors. they might do it soon

The game itself is based off of the garth ennis marvel knight punisher comic book iirc
5:38 Grotto calling him that is actually a reference to the original name Stan Lee & Gerry Conway planned on calling him, the Grim Reaper (cause he doesn’t show up without taking a soul). But they realized they already made a villain named Grim Reaper and decided to call him Punisher instead
Meg, Morbius is a living Vampire. He's more Spider-Man than Dracula. He didn't turn Blade, that was Deacon Frost.
Blade and Morbius have actually teamed up in the 90's Spider-Man animated series.
Also - there's only one person Frank Castle wouldn't take a shot at and his name, is Steve Rogers.

You're right. She keeps it to herself and ends up internalizing her trauma and questioning her morals and character. It's important to her arc and the why and how of her relations with the other characters ever since
You need to watch the Punisher it's really good, a lot of his back story isn't covered in Daredevil.
It's criminal these Netflix adaptations didn't keep going. I know this is the best one, but the other Defenders shows still do good, if not great work.

@@Venom-lr3sq ray stevenson was the best portrayal of frank castle/punisher brought to screen. He looked and acted like frank from the comics, a stoic force of nature. Jon was the worst punisher ever. all that grunting and yelling while he fought got annoying real fast. Plus him getting caught, shot, and beat all the time felt very off for the character. Terrible writing and casting.

This is the best run of the my favorite show in television. This next episode is my favorite in the run as well. Can’t wait to watch it again with you guys

It's fascinating and really interesting to see people's reaction to and thoughts on antiheroes. I'm actually not so surprised that you empathize with The Punisher, since they do a really good job of introducing the pros and cons of him (and characters “like” him 👀) for people to decide for themselves whether they agree with him or not. But I do gotta say that I wouldn't have been surprised either if you completely disagreed with him and see him as a problem as some people do.
I'm also looking forward to the rest of the season, because as much as I wasn't that surprised with you guys having mixed feelings on Frank Castle, I also want to see how you'll react to “her”, because, I could once again see both possibilities, having watched your guys' previous reactions, of you disliking/hating “her” while agreeing with The Punisher (or agreeing with both, or disliking both, etc.). But that's the thing about antiheroes, “sometimes” their methods are really cuestionable/downright bad, and you might agree/like them, or hardly disagree/hate them. Really looking forward to seeing your guys' conversations on the antiheroes this season.

Man, I love this series. Especially this season, for me personally. And Meg's reactions to The Punisher are perfect. And understandable. The Punisher's story and Jon Bernthal's performance just does that. Yes, we're not justifying his actions. But we can understand him. And that makes a lot of difference.

This season is phenomenal, Jon Bernthal steals the show this season, not that Charlie Cox does a bad job, it's still his show and he has a great performance. But damn adding the Punisher to this show, was so good.
Good episode goes to show someone can keep up in fight with Matt. Next episode is one of my personal favorite.

For this show, at least, Daredevil's powers are treated as extraordinary but not supernatural. Whether or not there were any other intervening factors for the development of Matt's "powers", they are ostensibly regular human senses just highly attuned. He can totally lose his hearing the way any of us could, and I think that makes him real compelling. The risk level in this show is quite high, and it's great that they remind us of that routinely.
This is only episode 2, i'm really looking forward to your episode 3 and 4 reactions, along with a few others.

I think people agree with what The Punisher does cuz they live through him cuz taking a life innocent or criminal is not easy.

Okay, but unironically, Caleb and Meg have made me want a Punisher-esque character whose whole fucking deal is protecting dogs. People? Doesn’t give a shit. Fate of the world? Piss off. But dogs? *THANOS LEVEL RESPONSE*. Make his supervillain the Dogwelder and we’ve at least got a trilogy and a prequel.
John Wick is probably the closest to that. The only thing is that John does care about people but for him the dogs take precedence over the people in most cases. But John doesn’t care what happens to the world and he has 4 movies and a prequel TV show(technically it’s just in the same universe but you get what I’m saying). Also can’t use Dogwelder. DC character who kills dogs and welds them to people already has that name. What’s really weird is that he’s considered a hero despite said killing of dogs. It’d be different if he found dead dogs and did this but he’s the one actively creating his ammo. Granted he’s meant to be a joke character but so is Deadpool and even he’s not crazy enough to pull that shit.

punisher is my fav of the live action shows, even gives my nightcrawler from 90s toon a run for his money.
i have minor OCD thats getting worse as i age. i learned to use it to my advantage tho, it allows me to make patterns that benefit me, for example i will not shut my car door unless i hear my keys jingle lol no jingle no shut door is what i say as i jingle my keys haha as a result i have no locked myself out of a car or house in 20 years. same with owning a dog, gotta walk her at the same times or my brain has a fit haha she has a fit too so it works out.
