Great post, I really enjoyed it. I've been camping all my life, and I'm nearly 59 now. I've been going to the Forest of Dean, at least once a year, since 1988, when I got divorced from my 1st wife and I still go regularly today. I've been lucky enough to see loads of deer and far more wild boar than I'd have liked. As long as you are sensible and dont have any animals with you, or they don't have 'piglets' (humbugs), the boar just want to leave you alone and stay away. Great content, keep it going.
Until I started wild camping id only ever seen badgers splattered on the side of the road but now I've seen dozens.one particular camp we had 6 badgers walk right up to our camp as if we weren't there.amazing to see.theres also a very large concentration of deer in this area and I've been blessed to wake up to deer surrounding camp and even seen the stags butting heads not too far from camp
So far I've not seen them be aggressive.to be fair I've avoided that area a bit since then cos I don't wanna disturb them too much but still a cool thing to see.ive set up trail cams near by and they are very active in that area so I thought it better to leave them be
Really enjoyed this vid, bit of history , nature and practical tips with a spooky story thrown in! great mix! I've never wild camped, only done traditional family holiday camping a lifetime ago. I can really see the appeal.
@ deep down I guess I wish I was brave enough, surviving on basics and connecting with nature really appeals to me as a lifestyle. I live a maximalist life and would love to change that. Long term after my hip replacement, (pretty much housebound at the moment ) I will be making big changes when I’m up and running again. Videos like yours allow me to escape confines I’m currently in , so a big thankyou !
When I used to wild camp I pissed on a rattle snake one morning because I didn't see it.. Fortunately it was a few feet below me on the embankment. I heard it and then saw it. I ran like hell.
