Today on Rock the Park, we’re back in Glacier National Park reflecting on what makes this park special to us, revisiting past adventures and exploring new grounds. Located in the northwest corner of Montana, Glacier National Park is only 150 miles from Missoula where Jack and I graduated from the University of Montana.
Many Glacier Hotel on the east side of Glacier NP is a historic hotel built by the great northern railway as a series of chalets to promote Glacier National Park as a great tourist destination. The 240-foot ptarmigan tunnel was blasted through the mountains in the 1930s to allow for passage across this steep ridge. We then headed out on the SwiftCurrent Pass Trail to check out Red Rock Lake and Red Rock Falls near Grinnell.
Grinnell is the park’s most visited glacier and the climb up to it goes as one of our favorite experiences in Glacier National Park. The hike to Grinnell Glacier is strenuous with a vertical gain of 1600 feet and some sheer drop-offs. Many Glaciers is often referred to as America’s version of the Swiss Alps. Massive mountains are dotted with glaciers, waterfalls, and vivid blue lakes

As a NPS ranger, I love watching these videos but this one was extra special. Both of the guys emotional reasons for loving Glacier is why I got into this job. Thank you for not only teaching people how to recreate responsibly but also sharing the intrinsic reasons to visit America's National Parks. You guys rock. And I hope Jack's dad is doing well.
Absolutely my favorite national park. Just awe inspiring. Thank you for sharing
Another beautiful Glacier episode! We had the opportunity to visit for the first time during the summer. It really is a special place! God's creation never ceases to amaze! 🙏
I agree. Glacier is just something extra special. Mind-blowing beauty! Stupendous! It changes you! I LOVED Logan Pass and Hidden Lake! Unbelievable!
I watch you guys every sunday morning on tv, it always makes me want to get out to nature. I hope you guys keep this up for a long time!
Can’t wait to visit hopefully this year.. National park lover her ❤️
Wonderful retrospective. I have been going to Glacier consistently for 35 years. During this time I have lived in Arkansas, Arizona, and Utah so it has required an effort! I have a map where I document every mile of trail I have hiked. I have another map of every mile I have not hiked but want/could hike. Due to Covid I did not make it (for the 1st time in 15 years) to the park in 2020. At the time I was okay with this but as the months have passed the yearning to get there in 2021 has taken hold.
Thank you so much for coming to my channel🥰🥰 beautiful vlog 👌👌.This summer we are planning to go to glacier national Park your vlog will help us. Thanks for great explanation.
