Hey Iver, I ogt an idea for the oil limit thingy, instead of limiting the oil to 12, is it possible to turn off building nearby an oil derrick,l like you can't bridge build across the map with oils. They either have to constantly build an extra building to extend with oil, or just not do it. Hope it helps!
Hey! Yes it is possible. But it would really be unintuitive and odd for players. Also, Other than the base walking, I like the oil limit because it's kinda like the ore in a regular map that runs out. It makes it so the game can't go forever as people eventually start running out of money.

You just pretend to build a naval yard, set it on the water surface and you can easily see the sprites in which the dolphins are hiding. Then you can just kill them with whatever units you have. Zhas uses this technique a lot, and I guess most high level players do as well.
Yeah you're right it's not a guarantee,, but we've seen a lot of reallllyyy close naval battles, where if the first player went in and sent a unit straight over they could delay their enemy a bit and get some valuable time to mass dolphins/subs to get the upper hand in the water. But maybe it would just be too quickly countered at the top level.
People would then start the game with an engi IFV going straight to enemies base, take over the opponents oil, and immidiately build a sentry and barracks. Some people like this, most don't. Most red Alert 2 online is played without engi capture for this reason.
