Try doing it in a car with less power - this comes on too hard IMO, makes it hard to modulate the throttle because anything over 3k RPM and it wants to just go straight to the limiter. I would start on something with like 250hp and NA. I know it doesn't sound as fun, but when you're trying to learn you don't need to have to worry about keeping it in boost etc... A 350/370Z is the perfect place to start.
