That looks better than other ways to do a 'ribbed' crochet. It will be great for welts and cuffs. I'm making hats for a charity at the moment so this definitely be used. Half trebles though because I'm British 😄. Thank you. 👍
I think that'd make a really pretty headband, like you said. I'm going to try it tomorrow, I was thinking of doing it anyways!! Thank you so much for showing this stitch!!
I love your videos. The crochet's texture is the best part of it. Q: I have several gifts I'm making. How do I get my cat hairs out of them? Frustrated
Um, I would sincerely kindly suggest you would have to start by preventing it by brushing your cats daily so you control not having cat hair all over. Honest. Some people do this to help control cat hair from shedding all over the house. Once it's in there/your fabric, the only 2 things I know of to attempt to remove any pet hair is to try washing it, and/or try running a lint brush to pick up some of the hairs, but there's no way it will get it all. Best regards.
I agree With another comment that this is one of my favorite stitches. It feels bigger than a single crochet but not as much wrist movement as a double crochet. I guess that’s why it’s half!
Wow! great stitch! why have I never seen this before? I am definitely increasing my stitch library from vids. is this one you created yourself? very nice. I will use again & again. tyfs
This is a lovely stitch. I have been looking for a stitch for a man's scarf and this is ideal. Please tell me what stitch this is in uk terms and what type of yarn did you use? Can i use a DK yarn? What size crochet hook to use if using DK yarn?
Hi. Thank you so much for these tutorials. I was wondering if you could share why you use a smaller hook than what is “recommended” on the yarn. Is it just personal preference or does it change the look of the stitch? I am still learning so any insights would be helpful!
Hola me gustan mucho las puntadas que presentas y preguntarte de qué marca son los ganchos que utilizas porque se ven muy cómodos para tejer gracias Saludos desde Mexico
Sarah is there a name for this stitch of HDC/SL? I've seen others crochet this pattern using HDC/SL, DC/SC, HDC/SC. But no one has the name of it. My grandmother from Canada call it Crinkle/Granite, my 70yrs old brain remembers. But a about 7-10 years ago I saw on TV someone call it something else. But can't recall the name.
Yes, I do typically work into the back bumps, however it’s only a matter of preference! You can work in the part of the stitch that is easiest for you :)

OMG!!! 💙 This stitch is the best thing since sliced bread! HDC is my favorite stitch anyway. Absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you for slowing down because it took me a minute to see the difference between the HDC and HDCSS... FABULOUS!!🎉
Thank you I love how you slow down your work so I can get the stitches right. You are a good teacher.
Thank you so much :)

Liking this stich. I think I'm going to use it in place of the moss stich in the Benjamin Throw pattern! I'm making it queen sized.
Can't wait to try this stitch hopefully later today. I might try going through that front bar and see what happens. Tyfs God bless you
It would be interesting to see what happens!

Love this stitch!
So easy!! This is great. Thank you.
You’re welcome
Nice! I'll be trying this on kitchen items. Thank You!
Me too. I can see it for a pot holder and durable dish clothes. It would probably make a very absorbent dish towel too.
Wow! great stitch! why have I never seen this before? I am definitely increasing my stitch library from vids. is this one you created yourself? very nice. I will use again & again. tyfs
Lisa with Holland Designs uses the half double slip (and variants on hdsl) in many of her patterns.
What...Gasp!!!
Amazing!!😍🥰
Very nice stitch
Thank you! I love all your videos(: I enjoyed learning this stitch! Im trying to add a border to it. Do you have any tips?

In these stitch videos I’ve been finding that the slightly smaller hook makes the stitches a little tighter and then stand out better :)
Would you have a video on how to slip stitch when doing double crochet?
Appreciate you very much!
❤
Thanks for your video, how can I make a change color at the middle of the Row with this stiitch?
Did you go into the back( 3rd) stitch on the first row as couldn't see the v to go under? Really like this makes it look really substantial. X
No - this one (even though it looks ribbed) is worked in the top of the stitch as you normally would
@@RichTexturesCrochet thankyou for returning my message. X
Thank you.
J'adore, merci beaucoup !💞
Thank you so much👍

I love this stitch but I still get holes in mine!! What am I doing wrong?? I'm using DK yarn
That one says hat or headband to me. I’ll have to see if I like doing it. 🧶💕🧶
It has some nice stretch to it too so it would be perfect!
i must have allot of tension in my stiches cause i have to pull the two over with my fingers
Can I use a#4 yarn for this
Yes you can
*Note to self:*
She's going into the back bump on each stitch on the initial chain.

This is the same as the double slip stitch. At least in the video I just watch on it. 🤔
