  • My daily routine with my babies and superbabies (I'm the mega baby, apparently) starts at 5 am with them bathing for an hour or so while I prep their food.
    Feel free to ask any questions! The hardest thing about this video is compressing everything in a 6-min video and doing a voice-over without sounding like a chipmunk, LUL.
    Thanks for watching!

It takes hard work and persistence to get them to eat all I give them haha, especially the hay 🥺. • @tortallyscute
      @tortallyscute  9 місяців тому

      Hey, thanks for watching! A few things you can do to rehydrate them, soak them in very warm shallow water daily for now, sprinkle water in their food, increase humidity in their house to 80%, as a snack you can feed them romaine lettuce or even a block of watermelon (but again, just as a snack). For Beans, maybe try offering something he likes and hand-feed him and mix that into his salad and once he’s comfortable eating, you can start decreasing the amount of his fav food. I hope that helps!

      @@gayathrimakam894hey, to train them into eating different varieties, you will have to add the “new” food to the food they eat only little by little. If they are only eating specific food, just sprinkle a but of the other food you want them to eat and each week, you can increase the amount of the other food and decrease the amount of the only food they like. Also, I have a diet calendar that I wrote on my website, you can take a look at it and even download or print it, it shows different variety you can try to feed your tortoise 😊

      Hey, the white substance is called urates. It is normal excretion. A good urate come out paste-y. If it is coming out hard or powdery it is a sign of dehydration and you should soak your tortoise or feed hydrating food.

      Hi!
      Dried foods: mazuri ls, hay (timothy, orchard, alfalfa), zoomed grassland, dried herbs (basil, dill, or oregano alternate between M,W,F)
      Fresh greens: mulberry leaves, dandelion greens, collard greens, oat/wheat grass, endive, clover, etc
      I always rotate combinations of what I feed them.
      I also feed: mint, radicchio, rarely romaine lettuce, corn salad, cactus on Thursdays, sometimes polka dot plant leaves, artichoke, rarely kale, rarely swiss chard, sometimes okra, rarely cucumber, bok choy, weeds if available and many more.
      But an everyday staple is grass and hay 😊

      @oviya1591 hey, thanks for dropping by. It is normal for new baby tortoises to not eat for a few days. If you just got them, they are just scared, stressed, and all you have to do is let them get used to their new environment. Once they feel comfortable they will eat. Soaking them everyday is actually not good for them. For babies, twice a week will be enough.

      @tortallyscute  Рік тому

      Oh really? How come?

    • @Angonoka
      @Angonoka Рік тому +1

      @@tortallyscute babies usually need a lightly higher humidity than sub-adults, so good to soak them twice per week, 5 minutes will be very enough. Their shell is like humans nail, the shell becomes softer by soaking them, not good for them to grow. Also, obviously they pop easier when they soak, as time goes, they are likely not (or being difficult) to poo without soaking. Treat them like in the wild, help the establish the habit they should be, this will make them much healthier.
