But russia deliberately built holiday resorts next to the airbase and adverted to all russians that they could have a blast on the Crimean beaches. Those civilians sunbathing next to a military base know well they can be hit. This was a legal attack on a military target. @@jc20012 Right, but they took it by force and incorporated it into the USSR, and then 'gave it back' so to speak, after the Soviet Union crumbled under its own rot. That is what I was intimating.
If I still have it wrong, please forgive. I am not a historic scholar of the area. Also, I guess I should go do some research. I lived through the breakup of the USSR, as a youngster, but we didn't have much view into that area then. There really was an iron curtain, at least to a significant degree.

Yeah a beach right next to military targets such as airbases and etc. in a war zone is not the ideal vacation spot. Russia wants it both ways. They want to brag about shooting down a missile short of its target but complain and blame others for collateral damage. If they want to go to the beach why not go to Sochi? I'm sure they have other beaches in their own territory.

The incident at the beach is easily explained. 1: no air raid sirens 2: russia is to the left of the video, Ukraine to the right. If you look at the video you can see the debris is coming from the left and falling left to right meaning it was a russian missile and not Ukrainian. If it had been a Ukrainian missile there would have been air raid sirens and the debris would have fallen right to left. The ruskies planned this attack to make claims of Ukraine attacking civilians when in fact it was russia. This is just too obvious that russia is trying to make Ukraine look bad when it is russia themselves who are to blame.
