I truly want to thank the engineers and leather jacket man at NVIDIA. It’s going to be a harsh winter this year, and our heater is on it’s last legs. With the creation of this new space heater, my family will be able to stay warm this winter. If our house needs a brick replaced, this will also fit the role quite well.

Stop trying to encroach on enthusiast territory and go play on Switch. Watts and heat are fine because it means they're actually trying to push the limit. I don't want low power for a desktop machine plugged into a wall. I want PERFORMANCE, that's why it's a discrete graphics card with its own cooling solution. If you care about efficiency buy a laptop. And really on desktops efficiency is about performance, because desktops are not power limited like devices on battery. So efficiency is just about how big the performance jump will be. Overall stupid comment except for the price part, which is right.

Looks like Nvidia didn't notice that crypto crashed and etherium mining is no longer a thing and last I heard they over ordered these cards. Just keep pumping up those prices guys, you have nothing to lose but the trust and goodwill of your customer base!
This is a unicorn product of course its going to be expensive. For professionals its still a bargain, if your gaming just get a 4080… no one is forcing you towards this product and its pricing

Yeah I also remember how graphical fidelity was completely stale back then, pure rasterization with ever more tricks that kept breaking. Now we are in the era of PATH TRACING, major difference.

@@arghpee Only the memory runs at the rated temperatures (up to 110C) on VRAM. Yes, you can throw some thermal pads on it to help a ton. The actual core? Coolest card I've ever owned. Has gamed around 52-60C stock. FE card mind you, not an AIB partner.

AMD still has a while and may never catch NVDA in GPU space. Because AMD also works in CPU space and has a lot of focus there

Literally just started my PC build almost a year ago now bought my 3060 when the prices were way too silly and now this thing drops. If given the choice to do it all again I think I would still just continue my PC build that I'm on now

I hope Radeon can get faster, cheaper, and better performance-per-watt while also doing well in Ray Tracing. I hope they come up with something to combat DLSS 3.0. The RX 7700 XT is rumored to be ~3090 tie in terms of performance and at a price of ~$600 from what I've heard.

I and others are hoping that an RX 7700 XT/7800 will be faster than a 3090 Tie and be priced at $500-$700, if that happens, NVIDIA is beyond in trouble. Finally i can get myself a 3090 without worrying.
I will give a concise and constructive critique of the RTX 4090.
1. The sharp increase in TDP is worrying, both for cooling, and for for power, the 30 series cards with their transient power usage spikes are already a problem for many power supplies. And I imagine that you'd have to spend a lot of money on power for an AC unit during the summer, unless the users want to get sweaty.
2. The price tags the RTX 4090, and many new gen cards have been awful. $1600 is already more than most people would spend on their entire computer, and the lack of good GPUs (that is to say GPUs with a performance improvement at a given price, and potentially also a decrease in power), with price tags between $200-$300 (for ampere). And that isn't mentioning that there haven't been any card with improvements in performance compared to cards released 5 years prior with prices of $70-200 has been very awful for budget buyers, mainly because of the fact that in order to get the performance they want, they have to resort to buying older gen cards, which have higher power draw, and reduced driver support.
3. Reducing the support of the newer technologies to the newest cards only? Even if it didn't run well I don't think that would be a valid excuse to lock so many people out, nor will it encourage the buying of newer gen cards among the vast majority of users.
