Instead of just wiping the shampoo off with a rag, I throughly wash the brush and go over everything with the wet brush. It helps get all the shampoo and dirt out, this is why washers have a rinse cycle. When you simply wipe away you're not completely getting the dirt out and stains can reappear once the hat is dry.

The hatshaper is discontinued, but you can also use a rolled up bath towel and stuff it into the hat to help maintain shape too. Plus, the towel will soak up extra moisture from the inside.

Good video. I’ve been wearing fitted’s for 30 years and what I’ve learned is once your hat starts to smell from sweat, (and it will if you wear it enough) is it’s pretty much a wrap! So don’t where your favorite hat in the summer or just buy a new one!

Nice vid I been cleaning my fitted like this for years, never uses shampoo but I lke the logic. I saw as you were drying it would have a couple spots but it damn sure is 99% better. I had the same problem so before I wet it I wipe with a dry rag or brush all the dirt or dust I can get off that stuff is harder to Remove when its wet. Now I spray carpet cleaner to clean mine same process spray brush/ wipe. Bro I saw many people actually wash their 59/50s in the machine, couldn't believe it… Nice vid my dude 👍🏽👍🏽

How would you go about cleaning the top of the brim?

Top of the brim is rough, since you don't want to soak it. I'd use a super small amount of shampoo and water, we're talking very small amount. You can also use a lint roller to get up loose dirt and dust.

Where can I get the New Era hat reshaper? I can’t find it on the current New Era website.

Discontinued. But you can also roll up a bath towel and stuff it into the hat to help maintain shape and size while it drys.
