40 years old....Almost next to nothing to my name. No job, was addicted to drugs, but I'm changing that all. Breaking bad habits, Learning more dicipline, getting in shape, working towards being an entrepreneur ...I started 3/20/19 the day my son turned 18. Its been 3 days since i got it in my head that when he turns 21 Im gonna be that father , that mentor, that motivator, that person he admires and looks up to...and not who i am right now...or was....3 years. Nov. 3rd 2020 A year and a half later I got on the right path but COVID came and disrupted things but that didn’t change my motivation to get where I want to be. Fitness is one of my priorities and happy to say my son is on this fitness journey with me. No more bad habits ....so no more skipping leg day 😂 ...Was in school to become an electrician but school closed till March 2021. Financially....I’m in a better place than I have been these last 41 years on this earth. Things take time.....just gotta put in the work. Fuck Excuses.....

I've been torn down. I've been hit so hard I fell to my knees and could hardly get up. I've tried to get up again and again. I've done it over and over. But when life pushed my down and tried to walk away, you know what I did? I stood back up and punched life in face with my bare hand. I punched back and I never let anyone hold me down. I was there! I stood there watching myself write that note. I stood there staring into my dead shaken eyes. I watched as I stared at that pill bottle! Just end it, I had told myself but I didn't listen because I am stronger then that! I don't let the things I've been told define me. I am not weak. If you had been there and seen me you would never question the fact that I am strong. If you had been there at the 2am Tuesday mornings sitting at the table working my ass off because I was getting behind in school, you wouldn't question it! If you had seen the way I still smiled in the face of my enemy like I was reuniting with an old pal, you wouldn't think I'm weak! If you had been there when I constantly missed the speed bag but kept working, I could hardly breath but I kept hitting that heavy bag untill my knuckles bled. Kept running the treadmill at 6.0 speed untill my toes felt like they were gonna fall off. You would not underestimate my power! I wanted it so I went and got it! The best man I ever met, my coach, once told me, when I was in my worst spot, when I was almost giving up, he said, "look at where you're at. Look at what you're doing and they're not!" Look at it! Those words have pushed me past my limits I never thought I'd breach. You can too. Don't envy my story. When you see me at my best don't think about how much you wish you could do that, think about how I was at my worst! How I fell and fell but always got back up! That is you! You are a warrior and you can stand back up after every single hit! No matter how bad or how hard you fall, you can win if you work for it! Get up! Wake up! Be you! Not your neighbor. Currently dealing with a bout of depression. Feeling like it's all or nothing these days, and sadly 'nothing' usually wins out. Decided to watch a few minutes of this. Just got off the phone with the job center, feeling like a fucking winner. A small step to take, for sure, but I'm no longer standing still.

Im going to come back to this comment 3 years later and remind myself that i have made it with my current situation. Im currently really upset and scared because if a mistake. But i wont give up. I"ll keep going with these heavy feet of mine that are too hard to move forward. But i will try.

I've been torn down.
I've been hit so hard I fell to my knees and could hardly get up.
I've tried to get up again and again.
I've done it over and over.
But when life pushed my down and tried to walk away, you know what I did?
I stood back up and punched life in face with my bare hand.
I punched back and I never let anyone hold me down.
I was there! I stood there watching myself write that note.
I stood there staring into my dead shaken eyes.
I watched as I stared at that pill bottle!
Just end it, I had told myself but I didn't listen because I am stronger then that!
I don't let the things I've been told define me.
I am not weak.
If you had been there and seen me you would never question the fact that I am strong.
If you had been there at the 2am Tuesday mornings sitting at the table working my ass off because I was getting behind in school, you wouldn't question it!
If you had seen the way I still smiled in the face of my enemy like I was reuniting with an old pal, you wouldn't think I'm weak!
If you had been there when I constantly missed the speed bag but kept working, I could hardly breath but I kept hitting that heavy bag untill my knuckles bled.
Kept running the treadmill at 6.0 speed untill my toes felt like they were gonna fall off.
You would not underestimate my power!
I wanted it so I went and got it!
The best man I ever met, my coach, once told me, when I was in my worst spot, when I was almost giving up, he said, "look at where you're at. Look at what you're doing and they're not!"
Look at it! Those words have pushed me past my limits I never thought I'd breach.
You can too. Don't envy my story. When you see me at my best don't think about how much you wish you could do that, think about how I was at my worst! How I fell and fell but always got back up!
That is you! You are a warrior and you can stand back up after every single hit! No matter how bad or how hard you fall, you can win if you work for it!

Currently dealing with a bout of depression. Feeling like it's all or nothing these days, and sadly 'nothing' usually wins out. Decided to watch a few minutes of this. Just got off the phone with the job center, feeling like a fucking winner. A small step to take, for sure, but I'm no longer standing still.
