    You did great job in this video, thank you for this video, for me definitely in 2020 I chose 1dx over eos R specially because of 120fps, and over all expectations that it can serve, there are great deals out there now, I got mine about a week ago for $2500 CAD with 189k shutter count, send it to canon to service, no issue at all, rolling like brand new. Very happy of it. Thanks again.

    In 2020 is the EOS R, clearly. The mirrorless viewfinder capabilities and the tracking AF eye are unbeatable.
    You just choose the 1d if you need a tank, sport capabilities, or super slow motion 120p.
    Great video, Peter!

      Yes! Still beats a lot of camera's in my opinion. What do you think of the R5?

    • @scotie690
      @scotie690 4 роки тому +1

      @@PeterBaerveldt well, the R5 is somehow growing on me. It has all the bells and whistles we love. Definitely gone a move to it, but will wait some months to get a real idea how it performs on a daily basis workflow.

    Nice video! I own both of these and I’m trying to decide if I should invest more in the RF mount or go the 1DX Mark III route. Thanks man! Just subbed.

      I personally Think that RF is here to stay so investing in that system is not a bad think to do. The 1DXmIII is a monster of a camera and it has some amazing features. But if you don’t need the High FPS or 5.9K raw for your work. The EOS-R line is way more affordable. You’d basically have a complete kit for the price of the 1DXmIII. RF lenses are very expensive tho.. that’s a bit unfortunate.. And you’d probably already own good EF glass so if you’re fine with that glass you’d could consider the 1dxmII over RF glass..
      I’ve i were you and you don’t need it straight away, just wait until the next gen Eos-r line comes out. Then you can make a better decision on how future proof it is for you :)
      Thank you for subscribing! I really do appreciate it a lot.

    I own both cameras. 1 dx mkii for birds in flight and eos r for birds standing still.Both nice cameras and each have pros and cons. You need to determine what the majority of your shooting will be. The 1dx mkii for action or the eos r for still photos. My opinion anyway.

      Agreed - I have a C200 and an EOS R for film work but I've been really missing the 1DX that I sold.
      For Street Photography, I've not seen anything to match that AF.
      I think I might now buy a used 1DX MkII as a street/action stills camera but can also operate as a B/C Cam if needed

    Great review, just two issues there. 1: The EOS R can't record 4k video higher than 30fp/s NTSC, anything faster than that is 1080p. 2: The camera's sensors don't suffer from chromatism or astigmatism. The more resolution on your sensor, the more problems show up on the final photos based on the optical limitations of the lenses.

      Thanks man! Appreciate that. 1DXmII is still a beast. What camera has your preference?

      Peter Baerveldt She didn’t reply but I’m curious... should she not? I want to buy a full frame canon camera. I’m torn. R6...1DX Mk2...6D Mk2.... any advice ?

      @@willhurt3446I do mostly photoshoots than video. I have both 6dmk2 and 1dxmk2 both serves well. I first purchased 6dmk2 loved all the way for years except the high fps that 1dxmk2 has. since I got my 1dxmk2 second hand, 1dxmk2 is my main body and 6dmk2 as back up. I mostly shoot kids and I need high fps.

    Question: everything is telling me buying an R6 is the “right move,” however when one factors in the awesome RF lenses are so expensive I could never afford them anyways, and they’re so massive it negates the size advantage. Why make the jump (eye af, more af point coverage, and silent shooting?). I feel like a 1DX with a 50mm 1.2 (which is what 1/30th the size of the new 50mm 1.2?) is a better setup than the R6 with a battery grip and a 35mm 1.8 or 50mm 1.8 for photography. What am I missing???

    • @PeterBaerveldt
      @PeterBaerveldt  3 роки тому

      i don't think you're missing anything. I feel like your conclusion makes a lot of sense from a financial standpoint alone already.
      What the R6 does give you what the 1DXmII can't is the possibility of using RF glas in the future. Also for video the r6 is nice. Possibly better than the 1DXmII.
      on a side-note: The 24-70 RF isn't that bad in size and weight in comparison to the EF version. But the RF primes are.. Huge haha. Not a fan of those either (in therms of size and weight).
      The 1DXmII will not let you down for sure.

    I disagree with the sharpness or maybe you didn't have the 1DX Mark II focused properly, but the R looks sharper. I was also pleasantly surprised with the R's 120fps in 720p upscaled.

    • @PeterBaerveldt
      @PeterBaerveldt  4 роки тому +1

      interesting! Any shots in particular? I always double-checked the focus to make sure they are correct so I'm curious on what shots you think I missed focus ;) The 720P is quite good isn't it? It's so amazing to see how well the fullHD and the 720 actually are indeed. Really happy with it.

    in 2020 the best camera for photography for prints!!! Was Sony A7rIV ! 62 mpx, 10 frame/sek with very good autofocus. I know EOS-R in compare with Sony A7rIV there was ..... entry level.

    I bought an R3 and after a week returned it and purchased (2) 1DX MK III ..... I'm old school and need real cameras that perform in rain, deserts, and can be dragged behind a car ........

    Spoiler alert, first major difference noted at 10:14. Took ten minutes of watching to gain my attention. I would try to either preview that or get to that point a little sooner in the video. Thanks for your input/contribution though! Very helpful.

    • @PeterBaerveldt
      @PeterBaerveldt  4 роки тому +1

      Still not sure wether i should like or dislike this reaction. You got both sides going for ya haha. The feedback is appreciated tho. But 'spoiler alert' is 100% not the way to put it. the first minutes of this video shows the capabilities of both camera's and i think that's important.
      The preview thing is smart. Kinda hate and love it at the same time when I see it in other video's. Will give it a try tho.
