The Yuyu - 2006
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 кві 2017
- This movie picks up from the end of Littlefoot (2005) where Bitey is lying unconscious against a rock. For most Brackenwood fans, this 3 minutes is where he graduated from despicable bully to anti-hero.

The most intense and the greatest chase scene of all time, still holds up even in 2022
This short will never not hold up
Remember when UA-cam wasn't a thing?
This was the character as a kid I imagined running along the street as my parents drove. Jumping along light posts and everything.
Corwin Hackett oh my god SAME
DAMN. same man haha
Me too!
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO DID THAT
One of my earliest memories was me in kindergarten on the swings, I was playing sonic boom in my head and imagining me going fast and zipping around on the hills I saw in the view I had on that swing set lol
I remember when I first saw this on Newgrounds and it blew my freaking mind.
Gonzalo Silva I know that feeling, man. Awsome times back then...
I remember a Newgrounds animation thing where the guy's driving through an unfamiliar town in the middle of the night and sees a hitchhiker, but gets spooked and drives past him... and sees the hitchhiker's carrying a knife behind his back. Was that chulaid too?
Yes, and it was fantastic.
What was it called? I remember it so vaguely
Hitchhiker

Nearly 12 years now and I'm still not tired of the music :)
Same
I'm desperate to learn it on tin whistle but cannot find tabs
18 years at this point :,)
So true man, this cartoon is a masterpiece.
It had a huge impact on me as a kid
This series was just amazing. This wasactually my least favorite song in it all too, but i still pop over for it, all this time later!
16 years, still here. I don't know if you'll even see this, but thank you nevertheless for being an inspiration.
The animation still holds up so well after all of these years.
I randomly had this urge to look up Bitey after all these years, and I still adore him and the whole of Brackenwood!!!
This is one of my favorite cartoons! I can never get that tune out of my mind, I love it so much!!
A trip down memory lane, I remember putting the quality on high and having to wait five minutes for it to load on new grounds
Man, that music zapped me straight back to happier times. Loved it back then, still love it now.
Same! When I hear it all chakras open in order for the happy times to pour back in.
This (alongside with the other Brackenwood videos) was the reason I got into animation. Can't believe it's been nearly 18 years already since this was created... still looks absolutely amazing.
I tried to click the replay button like in the old flash. Derp.
Trippy and depressing wanting to hit it knowing this ain't Newgrounds anymore.
This is 11 years old?!
I remember seeing this on NG & being completely captivated by it. Can't wait to see where Bitey goes!
Not to tack on an old post, but the writer actually cited another work, in fact a game in production w/ bitey 5 months ago: - dashkin.com
Even a few years later this is still fantastic, even movies don’t do this stuff.
It's an actual crime that this series has been all but forgotten.
It doesn't matter when I watch this or how long it's been. It gives me goosebumps every time. The music, animation, everything is just so good.
When this came out, I was like 5 years old, and Bitey was my favorite char from any animation made by indie producers in the internet, and I saw The YuYu and I copied the moves jumping everywhere feeling like I was Bitey in some way. The chills that the soundtrack gives to me are awesome, because they're infused with heavy nostalgia.
Flash animation at it's finest.
This aged amazingly.
I could listen to this music all day.
Just as legendary as it was when I first saw it thirteen years ago.
The Perfect Blend of visual and auditory.
2019 and I still love this
Bitey is a badass for taking on the Yuyu
They picked a fight with a guy who manages to survive a lifestyle of pissing off every creature he comes across.
I've re-watched this many times over the years, and literally only now did I notice the steam coming off his shoulders at the end. Nice touch.
Gotta love Spider Stacy for making the music for this. This animation is what got me listening to The Pogues.
I maintain that this is the most impressive piece of art to ever come out of Flash.
I remember this episode the most. I had to come watch it again today. Glad I got to see this.
May we have a remaster of this, with the higher quality version of Bitey's Theme from the Brakenwood 2008 Webby Awards video? This is possibly my favorite piece of Bitey media, but the audio quality on such a wonderful song makes me sad.
I am from the future, and this is still amazing
When the tune from a 16 year old video popped into my head for no reason at all, I didn't expect beyond my wildest dreams to be able to find it
And I definitely didn't expect the video to be this amazing
This got me right into the feels. I was 14 in 2006, found this on Newgrounds, and it stayed in my heart for both the music and the story behind it. Been a huge Bitey fan ever since.
Brings back awesome memories of Newgrounds ☺️
I need to find a high quality version of this song!
After all these years, this is still pure delight. Goosebumps and glee. I watch it every so often just to savor the soundtrack and victorious might of the oh so naughty Dashkin.
Still love this series
This is easily one of my favorite animations ever, and has been since I saw it back in 2006.
To this day, I regard this as the most beautiful animation of all time.
Cheers, to you, chluaid!
This aged very well and I'm nostalgic
One of the best instrumentals EVER!
This has been my favorite of the Bitey movies you've made for years. Not only because of the incredibly awesome music, but because it was the first time that we got to see just how fast Bitey could actually move.
This came out when I was 8 years old, I’m 23 now that’s wild I remember being so hyped from this shit
2024 and still my favorite music and action animation
This serie actually is one of the key things that made me want to become an animator \o/ Thank you for that!
From what i recall the song to this was an unexpected gift, chulaid had only asked for a shirt bit of music from one of the band members and they ended up recording a whole song which resulted in this video being given a lot more effort than originally intended
This animation is exactly what dreams are like
I remember waiting for this to come out after watching little foot. It was so worth the wait. I still hum the little foot music to myself.
Little foot is amazing his animation ls are amazing period
This was my new grounds days man. I was like 12 years old when i first watched this. And it still has the same effect on me at 31. This was awesome bruh.
Good to know this is still relatively kept alive.
These were some of the most impressive animations on the internet back then, and they're still impressive today. Absolutely stunning and so much fun to look back on! ☺️
I have watched and listened to this many times over the years. Thank you for creating this animation.
I FINALLY FOUND IT, AFTER YEARS OF SEARCHING
your videos were always my favorites on newgrounds.. brings back memories seeing these again
I just played Valley for the first time this morning, and running down hills and leaping gaps to the sound of pan flutes instantly brought back memories of Bitey.
An animated masterpiece!
That sense of triumph at the end. Man it is still awesome.
The music is something that still pops into my head from time to time, even years and years later.
i still love this music
It's been 14 years since I first saw this but this animation still blows me away. Keep up the excellent work Adam! You rock and so does your work! :D
Whistle this still do this day, thanks for getting me though work!
I saw this on short nite and was hooked so fast
ahhhhhhhh this was always my favorite of these! I always loved this series and am looking forward to your future projects!
Love the worlds you create. Hope you never stop doing things, Adam.
I first saw the series around 2011, during middleschool. It was a series I was fascinated in, but quickly forgotten as the years dragged by. By circumstance I was reminded of this episode specifically and started digging around for nostaliga. Its great to see you're still active and I look forward to future projects relating to Bitey and the world you've built up.
The music reminds me of my hometown of Scotland
God damn this brings back memories. You're an artist and a master of your craft, even back then. I watched this when I was 12 (?) Definitely long long before I was in highschool. I'm 23 now and still come back to these videos every so often. Very few things have really given me the sense of adventure and mystery like these do, and have for years. Thank you.
I wish there was a full orchestral version of this song. Its so wonderful and up beat. #Adamtheking
its about time you get these on UA-cam!
I want to LIVE in this world. I'm excited for Dashkin ❤️❤️
I'm mad that my reactions to his series about to be over, I wish he made more
@@DebbBunni Me too, hopefully the Dashkin comes out soon
all those years ago, on Newgrounds, this short was my introduction to the world of Brackenwood and the character of Bitey. I quickly fell in love - how could I not, when you blew all your contemporaries so thoroughly out of the water! - and eagerly awaited what few new videos we got when they arrived. The appearance of Last of the Dashkin got me impossibly hyped, eager to see what the new chapter of Bitey's story would be. And then you vanished, as far as my corner of the internet knew, leaving no trace behind.
Cut to just three or so months ago, and you release the trailer for The Dashkin, and I feel all those old memories come flooding back. I look desperately, trying to find more of your work, trying to find those old videos once again after so long away.
And I find The Yuyu, and I watch it again for the first time in years.
And I wept, as those old memories continued to flow.
You're one of the greatest animators on the planet, and your skill at your craft has only gotten better, but this piece, The Yuyu, will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Please keep making more art. I don't think I'll ever be able to get enough.
Yes! ALL of the re-uploads!!
My favorite animation! Back in the day it was so exciting waiting everyday for this to come and it was totally worth it. So many good emotions going through me every time I watch it. Also this animation is gonna get its 11th anniversary very soon!
Never noticed that Bitey's steaming in the final shot before. That's a nice detail
Dam, me neither. Nice catch.
The music and animation still makes me tear up after all these years. Now mid twenties I got into this as a pre teen. Loved it then love it now.
i can so vividly remember my dad watching this with my brother and me almost every night before bed. well, actually my brother wanted to watch it- i wanted to watch the hamsterdance song.
Your stuff inspired me in so many ways. Beautiful music in this, the original Littlefoot animation, and so many others, amazing animation, and absolutely stunning and gorgeous particle effects and environmental art. One of my all time favorite artists, and creator of such an interesting and captivating world.
I hope someday you can return and make more things in the Bitey universe. It was such a fantastic place to visit. :)
the yuyu is still mt favorite bitey animation because of the music and showing off bitey's speed
Gosh, it was a long time ago and still it's amazing ❤️
I saw this when it first came out and I was soooo young. Just stumbled across it again...I need to show this to my son.
this is so damn good. still rewatch this.
I still and always will love it.
1:42 firefly's face
I don't know if anyone else has pointed this out, but I need to say this. The animation is stellar, obviously, but that music...just *shudders* The music is just perfect for the scenes at hand; every time something happens in the video, the music reacts accordingly. I just love everything about this animation.
God this blew my mind as a young man. This still holds up as one of the best animations of all time imo
This always cheers me up. Master storyteller.
Adam you better be making some good money now doing something nice because this has been one of my favorite videos for a very long time and you’re only at... not enough subscribers. Thanks again for the years of enjoyment from the Bitey series, and that one month of shorts you did. And just sharing your work with everyone c: good day sir and love from your fans
This is the best one. Your use of perspective at 1:24 and the sequence at 1:52 are still amazing to me.
This is such an amazing piece of animation
It's been years since I've seen this! I remember it being one of my favorite flashes back in the old days of Newgrounds. Still holds up well after 11 years!
Still an incredible collaboration tbh the music and animation compliment one another so well
1:56 we need this as a game
Running away from the yuyu as Bitey :D
It used to be a game, but I'm sure it has been taken down.
I feel a back in the 90s
I remember when I first saw this animation and I loved it... ah... Happier times....
This was always my favourite animation of yours. Fantastic animation given the framerate.
Still a Masterpiece
Real talk though, the fact that the inside of that cloud houses a wasteland dimension larger than the cloud itself is both creepy and creative.
How does this not have 1 million views?
Excellent music and beautiful animation! I'm excited to see activity from you again!
I remember seeing this for the first time in my graphic design class in high school. I was just stunned by the amazement of it.
Song reminds me of the beat on Young Ned of the Hill.
Adam flooding my subbox yet again!! lol. seriously it's 3am and my phone is going nuts with notifications.
i can see you also love dashkin huh petey
This still holds up when it popped up on Newgrounds and in 2020. It's absolutely beautiful. I hope Adam Phillips got a job at some big time place like Disney or Pixar
This music remains my favorite
