A detail I really appreciate is that when Tia opens the diamond to find the bomb with 45 seconds left before it explodes, in the video when the bomb appears, there’s about 45 seconds left before it ends, and I absolutely LOVE the attention to detail

except actually the thief is a girl.
Despite being completely silent, this has some of the most fun and zany personalities of any piece of animation I've seen on UA-cam in a long while. None of the facial expressions are overdone or exaggerated, but they still convey emotions perfectly. It maybe cuts a bit too frequently from scene to scene to the point it's hard to follow it, but that's honestly the fast-paced action of it all, so I can excuse that. Otherwise, basically perfect. We don't deserve pieces of animation this good for free, and yet here we are.

This animation gives Lupin vibes. And i absolutely love it! Also when the diamond is revealed to be a fake on the bridge, the time is the same as the time left on the animation, awesome!

@@delksbwg3777 Agreed, and Tia has the same Lupin loose limbed acrobatic energy. The scene where she's riding away from the casino on the back of a pick-up over a bridge is clearly inspired by a similar scene from the start of 'Lupin III The Castle of Cagliostro'.

I love how the bomb timer is video accurate. Such good attention to detail in this short! I love how the scenes have such fluidity and continuity between them. I would love to see a reanimated or a MAP of this someday!

I was in 6th grade when I first saw this animation. I was absolutely obsessed with it, I memorized the song and replayed it endlessly. I even made my plot diagram project on this animation instead of a book because of how much I loved it. I’m in highschool now so it’s kinda nostalgic to see this in my recommended again.

I know everyone for the past six years have been harping on the foreshadowing, but my absolute favourite moment is 1:15, where the music stops, everyone’s freeze framed except for the girl’s cheeky face. That’s the part where I was hooked, and was promised a good time for the remainder of the video.

Brief Program Well, you wouldn’t believe the amount of people here who think that that is the characters name.
SuperSanicSpeed that’s to be expected since no one talks in the video and the video is about a person who steals diamonds. The title hints at the protagonists name being Jack in the name “Diamond Jack”, almost like this is a title given to the hero because of their past actions. It’s not a bad thing for people to think their name is Jack with only watching a video and not doing extensive research on the plot.
The singer is a Goddess for not running out of breath throughout the song

`I have a theory/headcanon: The cops and "detective" are the bad guys. Here is a list of evidence as well as timestamps so you can see them for yourself.
0:33 the cops and "detective" (henceforth called C and D respectively) arrive before a crime is commited.
1:00 D recognizes Diamond Jack (henceforth known as DJ)
1:58 D knows not to hold it by the top, otherwise DJ (and part of the "diamond") would fall.
2:34 when D catches the "diamond" the first thing he does is open it. As shown earlier (2:17) it's difficult to open it, yet D does, instead of giving up and thinking they won.
And last but not least, 2:53 even after seeing that DJ saved their lives and their city, C and D still pin her to the ground.
All of these show to me that D and C are evil, trying to destroy the city. DJ is (in my headcanon) the old Partner In Crime to D, but left him when she found out what his plan was. Once D went through with it, DJ stole the false diamond and got rid of it, saving the city.`

1: the beginning shows the diamond with the hinges.
2: the casino slot machine has 1 diamond and 2 bombs when it stops and the detective glances at it.

For such a short cartoon you did a great job foreshadowing with the hinges on the diamond and the slot machine.
There shouldn't BE a latch if the diamond's top was screwed off, I don't see what is up with the Slot Machine though...

I remember coming across this video when it was 36 minutes old… I was 13 at the time and fascinated with animation, this video is what pushed me to try and do artwork of my own. I sadly no longer do the art style from all those years ago, I rely on sketching when I can with breaks from life…. Maybe I should try and force some time from work. Do art during my lunch instead.

The truck driver might have been one of Tia's friends. The helicopter near the end flew up right as Tia grabbed onto the rope, so I'm guessing she wasn't alone in getting rid of that bomb.
