    Don't forget about buying a maintenance tank, if a maintenance tank prompt comes up and you don't have a replacement on hand you won't be able to print. When the printer discards ink it throws it into a vat in the back of the unit and after a while it will fill up, there is a small screw to remove on the back and you slide the old tank out, and replace it with a new tank. Just wanted to pass this on since no one mentioned it once in the purchase process.

      @@accidentalhomeschoolers3644 I hope you've told your son that space is scientifically impossible and all those images of planets and Earth are just that, they're cartoons, not real photos. You should show your son the Gleason 1892 map, that's were he really lives, not on a scientifically impossible cartoon ball from T-NASA, aka SATAN.

    Great. I've had an HP for several years and have hated it. It was an ink jet with fax, scan, copy and photo capability. HP touts an ink subscription that is a rip off. Their ink cartriages, even at Walmart, are ridiculously exspensive. I've read s few reviews comparing HP, Epson and Cannon, and in each case, Epson came out on top. But it is your review that convinces me. Thank you.

    Best investment we made for printing all our daughters projects. We are on our second printer and let our oldest take our other one to college. I will note that there is a maintenace sponge in this printer that does need to be replaced. Learned this from our older model and we also had to pay an extra $30 I believe to reset the printer counter on a site that was recommeded by another user. It worked but was not mentioned before buying. Either way, still the best printer for families. Will always recommend.

    I am just looking into buying one of these eco tank printers, and you have hit the nail on the head as to why I would consider - the unit studies that are full of colour!!! I'm so glad you detailed this in your review, thank you!!!
    In fact this is THE reason why I'm considering it, because of the cost of shipping all the super curriculums over the atlantic is just far too much, so I need to know if I can go for the digital options. And just as you said, I was always holding back on printing (and buying digital curriculums) because of the cost, now it's looking like it will change homeschool😄. I too, wish I had known of it sooner. Thanks again, I share your excitement💛

    I used to print out handwriting worksheets and outline maps for my kids' afterschool tutoring & "summer mommyschool" (the closest I could get to homeschooling), but never did much color printing of homeschool materials. Didn't own a tank printer (currently a Brother MFC-J1215W) until long after my own part-time homeschooling days, but I love how sharp the printouts look and how inexpensive replacement ink has been. (I've owned that Brother printer for 3 years now, and have only had to replace the ink twice.) Happy to hear your good experience with that Epson EcoTank printer!

    Please watch and do your review homework before making a purchase as these printers are expensive ($300+)!
    I am really hoping that Epson fixes these issues because I was going to buy one until I started seeing these long term reviews!

    Hello There. I came upon your review of the Epson ET Tank Printer.I bought my ET 2760 a couple of months ago .The setup was very easy and the first B/W prints came our pretty good but I found the black prints of sheet music lacking contrast. Any way ,after that I had taken a few 8X10 colour portraits .The first 3 were pretty good.Than everything went haywire.Henceforth I did the alignment and nozzle test .Also cleaning of the printhead ,No results what so ever.This was very disappointing .I am going to the place where I bought ii .Hopefully they can shed light on my demise..Since your review is a glowing result of this machine I hope I will be as happy as you. Thank you for your review .I shall let you know if I have good result. Greetings : HR.

    HI, fellow homeschooling mom here. I love this printer except for one thing. It doesn't have automatic duplex (2-sided to 2-sided) scanning. Yes, you can flip the pages and scan both sides and then it will automatically print on both sides, but currently (well, before my printer died yesterday) I am able to just put in a stack of double-sided documents (like maps, instructions, etc) and let it go. (And at the beginning of the school year when I am copying all of the material this is a big deal and I can't imagine having to flip each double-sided page over.) Have you found this to be a deal-breaker or hard to manage? (Do you do a lot of double-sided copying?)

    Suggestion: Get some 3-Ring Binder stick-on Reinforcement Rings to apply to reverse side of printed and punched pages to prevent holes from tearing on printed pages. Usually found at OfficeMax, Staples, office supply places. (Think "Avery" makes these stick on ring protectors that either come in rolls as USPS stamps or individual peel-offs). In the future, might want to invest in full size, 3-ring, clear page holders to preserve the ENTIRE printed images / pages from damage for years and maintain the book as a MASTER COPY. Will also keep pages dry from moisture (don't believe heard any mention of whether printed ink is subject to running if pages gotten wet?) Cheap tripod will free up hands and movement and enhance presentations (maybe because am OLD guy, but doesn't your arm ache from holding it up all that time?) (: Good Luck & God Bless to all of you

    I'm hoping when I have kids that need curriculum (5-10 years since I have none right now) that all the curriculum we want to use has digital options. My favorite math curriculum when I was a student was Math-U-See and they don't offer digital versions of their books which makes no sense to me. Only one example but I know there are others out there. With tank printers it just makes the most sense to buy almost entirely digital so you can print only the parts you need, plus allowing you to only carry the art you need when traveling around.

    I only recently discovered the concept of "Ink tanks" at first I was also looking at the Epson models because the ink is also very affordable and their printer models have more features that seem handy (duplex for example, or being able to print on cds and dvds etc)
    However I read that these models do not have replaceable printheads so if a print head breaks down you need to get it serviced by Epson which can be pricey. So I ended up ordering a Canon printer which also has an ink tank, but no duplex :( no cd printing :( but excellent print quality especially for photos :) and so you can replace the print heads and the "maintenance cartridge" so that will save me a lot of money in the future if something does break down.
    I feel like if I had the kind of budget that I could cough up service fees I would have gone with an Epson instead because they have more features. Like am I planning on printing 100 dvds/cds no? but it sure would be nice to be able to XD

    Hey @Accidental Homeschoolers , great video. I'm looking to buy the 4760, which is very similar to the one you have and I have a few questions for you.
    1. Have you experienced any clogs with it?
    2. Have you experienced any jams? Whether just a few, a lot or at all? (Especially during bulk prints).
    3. Have you had any issues with the ink bottles not dripping into the reservoir?
    4. Have you had any major issues with the build quality?
    5. Has the printer ever just printed one or more blank sheets for no reason during a print. (I've seen a few videos of this happening but I think it was due to the testing or calibration not being completed. Not completely sure why though).
    6. Have you had any problems with two-sided printing?
    7. Since you've owned it for quite a while now, is the page yield around what Epson claims?
    Sorry for all the questions, its just hard to get straightforward answers like the ones you give and I just want to be sure before I purchase this printer.
    Thank you.

    Hello there , i am considering buying this because i am a med student and i need heavy printing. But i heard some peeps in the internet it has an issue about the waste ink box when it reach a certain amount of printing the printer will never function again. I want to know if it is really the case with this model or not and thank you

      I can only speak to my experience. I haven’t had issue with that yet. I am also still on the original ink that came with the printer. I hope this helps.

    I came to youtube to look up the best printer for homeschooling after my stupid dinky HP printer just printed 100 pages of a pdf all out, I wanted them back to back, but i stepped outside for just a minute and my paper ran out and I accidently hit the continue key to print on the backside and a huge mess and waste of paper ensued. I threw my printer off the deck. Its laying in a heap of parts. I am ordering this Eco tank, like soon!

    You save a lot of money on ink with these kind of printers. I had an epson et 2650 and printed over 100 pictures on photo paper. But I didn’t use it for about 4 months, and when I tried to use it again it didn’t work anymore. I got an error message. It still had a lot of ink, I had no choice but to throw it way

    • @69Dartman
      @69Dartman 2 роки тому +3

      The print heads had the ink dry up and clog them. You can get cleaning kits thare supposed to be able to unclog them. I had a 3640 Epson that eventually clogged up and I never was able to clean them enough to get it fully working again and you can't easily remove the heads to soak them manually. You have to use the Epson printers regularly or they'll dry out.

    • @Misterio_11
      @Misterio_11 2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, but they are expensive. I got mine for over $200.

    • @69Dartman
      @69Dartman 2 роки тому +1

      @@Misterio_11 I think I paid like 140 for the first 3640 at Costco and spent a while getting all the quality settings to where the prints looked good. I burned through the original carts in about less than 6 months so I got a continuous ink system for it cheap and had to redo all my print settings. I eventually burned through that ink with some cleaning issues and switched over to pigment ink like it originally uses. It sat too long and the heads dried up. I eventually gave up and bought a 9018 HP from Costco for 169. The ink is expensive but so far no matter how long it sits between print jobs as long as it has ink it prints perfectly and printed better quality at the default settings than the Epson did with all my tweaks at the best settings.
      You can buy quality pigment ink refills for it cheap, you just need two sets of cartridges to switch back and forth with.
