    That was a great video, Mitch. I'm so glad I found your channel. I have owned the Linea Mini since December of 2015. I could not be more happy with it. Adding the $500 USD Control board and using the La Marzocco App allows the user to set the temp, choose a pre-brewing time (pre-infusion is available if the machine is plumbed in) and has a great cleaning cycle on it. Because of your video, I will rebuild my steam wand valve assembly. I would love to know what you did to this customer's hot plate to secure it better. Thanks again for doing this. It is a big help.

      Thank you so much for the feedback.
      I used some thin tubing (sliced down the middle) to simply create a tighter fit. Feel free to pop me a message on Instagram or email if you need more info

      @@mitchdoescoffee your video is very informative and I’m learning a lot. I recently purchased a used LMLM and it’s out of warranty so I’d like to do some work myself if possible and your videos are a great guide.
      That being said, my mini worked great until today, but now I have no steam from the wand or hot water from the steam boiler when turning the knobs. The steam gauge is showing 0 and water coming out of the steam boiler release/ drain valve is room temp. There is no water or steam coming up the clear tubing either.
      So I’m thinking it’s the heating element, but wondering if it could be the vacuum breaker, preventing it from closing and thus not starting the heating process?? I’m not sure how to check and troubleshoot that without just replacing it. I’d like to try and DIY before calling in a tech for $$$.
      Your advice or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

      @@chrisgiese1964 hey mate. Thanks for tuning in & your feedback.
      I would definitely start with the breaker as it is a standard service part anyway. (I would replace all of the valves while you are doing this) as I would recommend doing them every 12 months 👍

      I would always suggest using coffeeparts.com
      The website is pretty straightforward with diagrams for all common machines.

    • @mitchdoescoffee
      @mitchdoescoffee  Рік тому +1

      Thank you Glen. If you are steaming milk often, I would recommend doing this as a part of your standard annual service as the parts really are not too expensive & will give you some peace of mind. ☕️

    when you say you go over all the fittings in the machine, does that just mean loosening them a bit and tightening them back up to the correct tightness?

      I would start with the cafetto LOD in the water tank & run a simple 30 minute soak.

      @tvitarelli that will be fine... just ckean the tank, then run 2 complete water cycles afterwards to ensure there is no contamination.

    Hey, great video mate - random question, but would it be feasible on the Linea Mini to swap the hot water spout and stream wands around so wand was on the left etc?

    • @mitchdoescoffee
      @mitchdoescoffee  11 місяців тому

      Without trying it myself, I wouldn't saybwith 100% certainty... But I really can't see why you couldn't do it.
      You would need to get some hard lines custom made as the water & steam lines are not interchangeable. But with a little bitnof creativity, I can't see why not.

    thanks for the detailed video! just wondering, for the different fittings, is there a torque spec sheet anywhere, or is "decently snug" all that's needed? and do any special rules apply to particular fittings?

    • @mitchdoescoffee
      @mitchdoescoffee  6 місяців тому +1

      Beswick engineering have a torque guideline for all types of fittings/materials. I've found this to be very helpful when working on any machines.

      @hao-tongyan4872 that is very true. I was a bicycle mechanic for 16 years & aluminium/stainless steel definitely requires much higher tourqe settings than brass/copper as the softer materials will assist with sealing. Obviously, they can't be used as handle bars though. 🤣

    Great video thank you! I have Three questions, First where do you use to source your parts? Second I have a linea mini that is plumbed in and the Flojet pump constantly works even when the machine is off. I have constant water leak from the hose close to expansion valve, even though expansion valve is completely closed, I even changed the whole Vacuum steam breaker part, I appreciate your help with this. Third question is that I want to learn how to service my linea mini and reached out to LaMarzocco in the States a 100 times but they never let me take any classes as a technician, do not know why! Is there any other way to learn? Thank you again for your help.
