I made a hole next to the light and ran the wires above the shelf , rather than running it by the corner which is exposed. Great video btw, very helpful indeed. No hankypanky loud music and excessive talking. Thank you .
Two points to make here about the lights.......
Firstly they are available in cosy warm white or bright cool white..... warm looks better.
Next, theres a disused 8mm hole in the top of the Pax right behind the light strip where the floor levellers go on the base.... Same part which is usually covered with a white plastic plug.
Allows access for wiring without drilling holes as recommended in the instructions or showing unsightly wiring along the top inside. Top marks for spotting you can wedge the thin back panel to allow the wiring through also eliminating the need to drill the extra top shelf if fitted as on 236cm Pax as also recommended on instructions!
the only add I would say s take your time when fitting these. They are oddly and slow and steady wins the race 🙂
Looks fab! I am gona try add these to mine x
Fab ! Let me know how you get on !
Thank you for your help!
Pleasure 🙏
Well Kirsty, we have just had a delivery of a large larder and both my husband and I both said would be nice to have lights within, then we don’t have to use the main lights. Thanks for the video, probably got the same set up as you with the plug beside it. FAB 😊
Fab. These will look brilliant, I really like them.
Is the eicheneff design on the inside of the Door always? Or is it selfmade?😮
So my takeaways- Beautiful ring.
Maybe use two-sided tape in the middle of the light, so it doesn't droop.
And I think ill drill a hole for the cord, that will be hidden by the light, so i don't have to deal with hanging the cord up in the corner.
@@prybarknives 8mm hole right next to where the edge of the light sits usually plugged with a plastic stopper.
Top and bottom of the Pax are the same both with floor leveller holes in them........ no drilling required!
Where can you get the clips you recommend to hold the cable?
The clips come with it. They substitute the bits that holds the shelf. There are different way to fit them, depending if you are going to fit the light on the "ceiling " of the wardrobe or beneath the shelf as I did. They are good. Easy to fit, effective
The driver unit in the link seems different to the one in the video
IKEA do two drivers. One for up to 3 and one for 3+
What is tue color temperature?
@@CB-jv9ym Warm white or cool white are available.........
The problem I have with this - but I might be wrong - is the fact that the driver stays always on and, at 30W it is a bit more than leaving on let's say... the phone charger. I bought them, but delivered for another place abroad, so I haven't seen/fitted them. I might experiment with something to switch off the driver when not in use somehow
Two thoughts on this. The 30w should only be when lights are on. Probably a couple of watts when just sensing. Second, they have a remote switch you can add, it can sit on the wall, next to your regular light switch.
30 Watts for an LED light......?
I have ten LED bulbs in my bathroom at 5 Watts each which is a huge improvement from the 50 Watt halogen bulbs.
So these are always on? Seems a bit wasteful?
Wasteful of what? These are low energy LED’s. No different than the sky box , tv being left on standby when not in use? You could also flick the off switch on the socket if you really wanted to.
@@kirstygriffiths749Yeah I meant energy. Good that is has an off switch :)
You need it to be on to activate the sensor so it comes on when you open the door.
@@Stoffendous
Great idea to switch it off at the socket but sort of defeats the purpose of automatically turning on the light when the door opens.
May as well switch the room light on.....,
@ stoffendous - In that case don’t fit a light in the wardrobe. Everything in life has a price but there’s always a choice.
